This place is a little divey but that's what makes it great. On the outside it looks a little sketch, but as soon as you walk in you know your in a good place. This spot is very spacious so it's a good place for large groups. The often have tastings here and pool tournaments. If you want to play pool just for fun that's fine too! Off to the side is a little pace full of games and more tables to hang out at. They also have a bar where you can watch the game. This place is just up the street from the theater so it's a good spot to kill time before the show.

Worst bar in Salem--rude staff, awful food, and zero redeeming qualities. Avoid it at all costs.

Tons of pool tables and good smoking area. Pabst is too expensive, and the liquor offerings are limited, but it's OK in a pinch.

A great dive to stop and have a beer after work. They have a good jukebox and decent pool tables. You should stop in for a cold one.

Jackie came by my table within minutes of my wife and I sitting down. She took our drinks orders and asked if we needed a menu. She even came by to clear the table of empties and get us new drinks. This is a vast improvement over the horrible service we have had here over the past few weeks. We play billards on a league, and this is one of the bars on our list. We also play at the Silver Inn, The Pink Elephant, and Kolby's, to name a few.

The only reason to go to Phil's instead is because the kitchen opens earlier, so if you're hungry before 6 pm, Phil's will do okay, but if you can wait til after 6 pm, you'll have a much better time at Jammers. The waitstaff at Phil's will see you sitting at the bar waiting to be served and ignore you for extended periods before coming to see what you want to order. And this includes during slower business hours. There are times when they are friendly and on top of it, but it seems like going there the service is slow more often than not. While the waitstaff are typically friendly when they do approach you, and I enjoy chatting with them, it does make it difficult to want to return when you have to wait a long time to get that service. The food isn't that great and tastes microwaved and not fresh, and while I don't expect fine dining at a bar, I do expect the food that I've waited a long time to be served to taste better than 5-minute microwaving. Again, if you want better food, wait til 6 pm for Jammers as their food is often much better. It's actually kind of sad, but the reason I went to Jammers in the first place is one of the staff at Phil's telling us about it, and honestly, it was worth the extra little bit of a walk. I know Phil's is currently up for sale, and that it may be a transitional thing, however it seems from past reviews I've read this is a common occurrence. TLDR: Go to Jammers, you'll have more fun.
