I walked in and was immediately greeted with an unfriendly tone, made for a very uncomfortable environment. This is a cool place with a plethora of pool tables as far as the eye can see! Tony is quite possibly the best bartender in Salem! He is attentive and just adds to the eclectic ambiance of the establishment. As far as the food, they have fried bar food. The plus is they actually have chicken gizzards and that is heavenly. This place is a little divey but that's what makes it great. On the outside it looks a little sketch, but as soon as you walk in you know your in a good place. This spot is very spacious so it's a good place for large groups. The often have tastings here and pool tournaments. If you want to play pool just for fun that's fine too! Off to the side is a little pace full of games and more tables to hang out at. They also have a bar where you can watch the game. This place is just up the street from the theater so it's a good spot to kill time before the show. read more

Everything you could want in a dive bar. It's a good size, a lot of pool tables and games, room for live music, good size patio covered and uncovered. Bar food, smells like onion rings. I pride myself on building a good rapport with the bartenders in my neighborhood. I always make it a point to take good care of them especially when I get good service. Never had a problem with ANY bartenders since I moved here a couple of years ago until last Friday. I had been in here a handful of times in the last month or so prior to this event and this was only the second time I had been served by Andrea. Our first encounter she was comfortable enough with me to tell me(a black woman)that she didn't think black men were attractive. I thought it a bit forward of her and it rubbed me the wrong way a little but hey to each their own. Fast forward to last Friday. We had made small talk throughout the night and she even remembered me & my name when I came in which I thought was cool. I was at the poker machine closest to the bar, I put my last $20 in the machine, ordered my last round and cashed out with her. I had been needing to use the bathroom but waited until I had to GO GO so I put my sign up left my full drinks by my machine and went to the bathroom. When I returned a few minutes later someone was on my machine. I was like what in the world? When I told him "Hey, I was playing that machine and I still had money on it". He was combative at first and then informed me that the sign I put up was backwards and instead of the side that says I'll be back in 10 minutes I put up the one that said ready to play. I don't know if that's true or not but his cues that the machine was taken should have been the full drinks sitting there, the $20 in the machine and the fact that A SIGN was up. Him and I went back and forth for a few seconds before Andrea came over. His girl(friend) also came over to us. When Andrea came over I said you saw me sitting here and I just had ordered another drink right before I went to the bathroom. She quickly chimed in telling me that people leave their drinks all the time. As soon as she said that I knew what position she was taking. Then when I said I had the sign up and NONE of the bartenders are practicing COVID protocol cleaning the machines anymore and putting the ready to play signs up to which she replied "I still do sometimes ". Then when I said well not only that ,my money was in the machine and her response was pretty much oh well, shame on you. She advised me I could call the police and file a complaint but would result in nothing happening. I stood there shook!!! The guy ended up slapping $20 on the counter to which Andrea replied "I should be happy that he gave me anything because he didn't have to" are you fucking kidding me? Excellent customer service. At this point it was obvious that she didn't value me as a customer AT ALL! Which kind of took me back to my first encounter with her and that comment she made. Perhaps her taste in black people PERIOD is undesirable? Me and the guy actually ended up hugging it out after we both calmed down and he apologized. I took ownership of the fact that I may have left the sign on the wrong side as well and he left the machine. Andrea on the other hand had no kind words, did not try and de-escalate the situation, went in attack mode on me, was not at all solution oriented and was just straight up RUDE! One bad apple can ruin it for a whole bunch. I have a bitter ass taste in my mouth after that exprience. read more

Tons of pool tables and good smoking area. Pabst is too expensive, and the liquor offerings are limited, but it's OK in a pinch.

Stopped in on a whim, had to be in Salem to visit a family member who is encarcerated there. Things were hard enough as it is, then a great bartender Tony came to wait on my daughter and I with a great attitude, very welcoming. It's just what we needed. Thank you for being so gracious. It has definitely made it easier for us to go there every Saturday, we enjoy stopping by and getting great friendly service. read more

A great dive to stop and have a beer after work. They have a good jukebox and decent pool tables. You should stop in for a cold one.

5 star rating based only on a Sunday night visit when a local band or two get together to host an open mic. As with all open mics, there is some inconstistency, but this one blew me away with how good it sounded. Reminded me of New Orleans and the bars on and near Bourbon Street where the players are familiar enough with each other to hold it together, but loose enough to take chances and just jam. Also did notice several unused pool tables which I would have wanted to use had I not been pre-ocupied with the music. read more
