For two months -- TWO MONTHS -- they gave me the runaround. They refused to replace the shoes. They refused a refund. The Shops at Riversides provide mostly high ends brands in the mall. Pottery Barn, Jimmy Choo, LV etc. The price range is on the higher end. There are also many restaurants like Cheesecake Factory and True Food Kitchen. There's a ramen store coming in soon. In addition, you can enjoy some entertainment like AMC in the mall. Barnes and Nobles is another great place to visit for books and small items. Overall a great place to hang out for an afternoon or weekends. The staff are nice. It's very clean and spacious. I don't come to this mall very often. Today I came for work and realized that you can find things in the stores that a middle-class person can afford without breaking the bank. I had the impression that all the stores were very expensive, but I saw that I can buy things at a fair price. I'm going back tomorrow and I'll tell you how it went and if I bought anything... It's a huge mall. Very clean, with attention to detail like trash cans, waiting areas, and high-quality decorations. I often come here to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. I'm going to Barnes & Noble tomorrow. I like bookstores. Today there were low flow of customers and very little noise. read more

I truly only visit The Shops at Riverside when I have dining reservations at one of the many restaurants there. There are times when I arrive early though like yesterday and the mall provides a very relaxing ambiance to simply walk and browse. One half of the mall has been redone and the aesthetic is chefs kiss! High end shops that all look like they could be flagship locations and peaceful water sculptures and lots of seating to lounge around and sip a nice coffee. It's typically not very busy in the mall area during the week but it does get busier on the weekend. A nice option for shopping and dining if you're ever in the area and if you want to escape the craziness of Garden State Plaza or something more upscale than Bergen Town Center. read more

Well, so much for finding the shop I wanted to go to... had to whip out my phone and do a search. Lovely spot, completely empty on a weekday afternoon, but broken tech? I mean, you have to do better if you want to make an impression... Went to grab food at Houston's. Saw pretty much no one inside shopping... wonder if it does better on the one day of the weekend it can be open (since it's in Hackensack, blue laws keep the non-food shops closed). I grew up in Teaneck and have been going to "Riverside Mall" for decades. I moved out of state about 13 years ago, but I still coke back often to visit family. With that said, this mall has always offered high end stores and brand names. I love the changes they've made over the last decade. There are more restaurants to choose from with the same (if not better) luxury feel. read more

Stopped by the mall to get some lunch and shop at Bloomingdale's. It was very empty . But I was so impressed by the Christmas decorations they did. All the common areas look stunning. Security personnel were constantly walking around to keep things safe. There are some new stores opening but the luxury brands are still there. Loved my time walking around the store. read more

G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S. This mall is absolutely gorgeous. You'll feel expensive just walking through it. Riverside has gone through a major face lift within the past few years. I remember when it had the "old" Barnes & Noble, Au Bon Pain, and Orange Leaf. They've remodeled the interior and it's beautifully designed. High ceilings, a flower wall, chandeliers, a water fountain, and more. Even the bathrooms are squeaky clean and elegant. The stores consist mainly of luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Coach, Ferragamo, Tory Burch, and Rolex. It's never too crowded here, so you'll get a quiet shopping experience. Most of the mall's traffic is from the dining, AMC Theatres, and Barnes & Noble. I personally go here for their restaurants. They have The Cheesecake Factory, Houston's, Morton's, and Sweetgreen, which are some of my favorite places to eat. There's not much to do in terms of entertainment except for the movie theaters on the second floor. They do have the Fountain Spa and Lifetime (luxury gym studio). read more

This mall is 2 floors, and mainly has high-end stores. Not quite my cup of tea, but it is very spacious and clean with great seating areas. The storefronts are not fully occupied, but that didn't bother me (and I appreciated the fact that it was not crowded on a Saturday). It was enjoyable to walk around after a great meal at the Cheesecake Factory. They've also got an AMC movie theater. read more

I absolutely kill love coming to this mall it's easy to access. There's plenty of parking both and the lights outside as well as the parking garage. The selection of stores are wonderful. You can find all the designers that you want without having to go into the city. the mall is never crowded, they also have great restaurants, Barnes & Noble bookstore, and a spa Some of the restaurants are a bit pricey, but not outrageous. What a gorgeous mall! This is definitely a higher end shopping center, with a selection of fancier restaurants and an AMC. This was my first time visiting; I was here to go to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory with my partner. I was there for TCF but driving around also noticed there's a Rosa Mexicano, Morton's Steakhouse, Oceanside Seafood Room, and Houston's. I'm not a frequent shopper at higher end store (maybe a window shopper), but I stopped inside the Barnes and Nobles there. It's a good B&N location. Walking inside the Shops was such a nice experience. The interior is beautifully designed with the green walls, chandeliers, water fountain, etc. I also saw there was even a gallery (M.Schorr). I mean, it was by appointment only, but a gallery? I'm not used to seeing that in a shopping center. In short, Shops at Riverside is really gorgeous. read more

I love this mall. It's clean. Has many popular brand stores. Many locations to dine. I saw armed security. It looked more like the military. Beautiful clean bathrooms. I mean they thought of everything. A private room to nurse your baby. A family room to change your baby or take your lil one to the bathroom. They had private doors to the entrance of your stall. It felt like I was in a spa bathroom but I was in a mall. I've been to alot of malls, but this one was just so elegant. So well put together. The parking lot even had the signs up in a color you could recognize and see your letter and number so you know where you parked your car. A plus that we didn't have to pay for parking either. This has to be on my list of favorites in my Mall category. It's not far from the city or where I live driving, so I think I can see this mall being revisited. - Thumbs up for me read more

The Shops at Riverside is a fond memory. My family would make the trip to this mall at least monthly. If you live in NYC and want to eat at Cheesecake Factory this used to be the closest location. We also like the feeling of being home we would get from shopping in a Mall such as this one. Like most reviews say, it is higher end stores. I like the Barnes and Noble location. You can always find gifts in there. During the time we went to this mall it was undergoing renovation. It has now become very luxurious inside. The tile floors and glass roofing are great. I love the seating area. When you shop until you drop you can sit down to rest comfortably in the mall. The reason we don't shop here any longer involves the transportation. In Winter we had to wait in the cold on the highway for the bus to and from NYC. I remember one day climbing over huge piles of snow to cross the highway to get the bus back to NY. I can't tell you how many times we would be flagging the bus down as it passed us by. It became to much trouble and unsafe to be out on the highway. Someone told us about Park and Ride and the bus from Port Authority that goes to the Mall in Wayne. So then we started going to Willowbrook Mall Park and Ride in Wayne. It is much easier to access from NYC by bus. I often wonder if they started providing bus transportation to and from The Shops at Riverside in their parking lot. An over hang with protection during inclement weather would be nice too at The Riverside Shops. If you don't live nearby, or own a car keep this in mind when you go. Maybe if enough people express an interest they will help us by providing bus service. I would certainly like to return to The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack for a shopping visit. read more

I tried to buy a gift card with my Bloomingdale's American Express card that was issued several months ago. The account was in good standing. It did not process at the register so I called the 800 number for Bloomingdale's. I got incompetent people from an obvious boiler room call center. . They were so inept that they repeatedly tried to process the sale and the fraud prevention security software kicked in and the card was suspended. Then they said I'd get a letter in 7 to 10 days. It wasted an hour and a half at the store to have Bloomingdale's boiler room inept call center people render my card useless. There's an hour and a half. I'll never get back. Speaking of never I will never shop at Bloomingdale's again. I tried to call to cancel my account and they said I had to wait 7 to 10 days. That adds insult to injury. read more

The Shops at Riverside is an indoor luxury mall. It is gorgeous and newly renovated. It is good for a quick stop if they have the stores you shop in, but it is quite small so the selection is as well. There are a lot of great dining options from PF Chang's to the more fine dining experience of Houston's (always my pick!). Their Barnes and Noble has also been newly renovated and is really modern and pleasant to shop in. It's a quiet mall so it's nice for a quiet afternoon of shopping, but if you're looking to hit a multitude of stores you may have to also make a trip down the highway to the outlets. read more

Let me start out by saying I hate Malls, I know the title says the shops at Riverside but it's a Mall. From the chaos of finding parking and the chaos of people bumping into you to be the first on line. Maybe it's just me, but I don't need to be the first person to get something. Last week I let my wife talk me into going with her to take pictures with Santa. Usually my wife's mom goes with her, which spares me. This year because of certain circumstances, mainly our son I gave in. Earlier in the week if your from around here, was nasty weather wise. Raining, windy, chilly, not optimum conditions to go out and about. However there was no changing of minds so we headed out. I figured getting there doing the pictures and getting back, minimum 2hrs. Around here there's always back roads and side streets you can take to avoid traffic as best as you can. We hit it at the right time traffic wasn't bad at all. So we arrive at the Mall and of course my wife knows of a back entrance where parking is of abundance. At this point the rain had stopped, so we park and head into the Mall. Upon entering it was like you were immersed in a Christmas wonderland. Everywhere was so elegantly decorated, from the lights to the poinsettias lined up and down the aisle. Life sized ornaments, Christmas music playing in the background. It was bright, a nice calming picturesque bright. The colors of the season were everywhere. Santa was very Jolly as he should be, his one Elf was I'm sure on the naughty list. Wasn't very nice or pleasant to talk too. Like my wife said we were in and out of there quickly. Yes it's a labyrinth, but if you know your way around it's quite easy to navigate in and out. I was impressed as well with the signs leading you in and out of the parking lot. They were very straight forward, sometimes in other places they have arrows pointing in 10 different directions that you have no clue which way to go. If and I'm saying a big if I go to a Mall again this would be the one I would go to. read more

Yesterday 1-30-2024 Myself and my two boys went to see the 8:30 show of Night Swim. We sat in Aisle F the boys in seats 8 & 9. One ordered a cobb salad, beer and sampler the other I believe a western barbeque cheese burger and drink. Now I have been here three other times with my husband and girlfriends. Food and mix drinks were ordered but this was before COVID. My son thought he saw something moving. He placed his food down and the next thing he knew a rodent and he said it was big. He was scared and went into a slight panic attack but didn't want to scream or interrupt the other movie goers. Therefore, neither one could finish their meals or drinks or watch the movie in peace. What I really like about this shopping center is that even on a Friday afternoon, despite parking spots being packed, the place itself outside of the restaurants is pretty calm. It almost feels like a private shopping experience. The only downside is that outside of pretty much Sephora, the other brands are not ones that the average person would shop at daily--too many high class boutique stores outweigh the big box ones. read more

I really don't like malls, but honestly I have gone here so many time with my kids when we have cabin fever just to pass time. They once had a beautiful art exhibit, they have good choices for food, and it is never crowded so it's fun to have kids run around here. The wait for the restaurants can get long depending on the time. The AMC is also a dine in and super fun. It is definitely high end so not a place to go for casual shopping but they do have a Sephora and a Barnes and nobles so there is something for everyone. read more

If you are going there past 7 pm on a Saturday night bring your pajamas. They close up early. Also, if you have parked outside of a store entrance you won't be able to get to your car without walking around the entire outside of the mall. This is what happened to us last Saturday. read more

This mall is beautiful, fancy but it's always empty as long as I can remember. It's an upscale mall and I think the reason it is empty is you can find most of the same shops minus some of the restaurant at the Garden State Plaza and then you have route 17 too about a mile or so away. But Garden State has at lease 5 times more of everything including a movie theater so if you are shopping, eating or hanging then why come here with all the empty stores hidden behind partitions. But if you do come expect to find a few places to eat like PF Changs, Mortons, Cheesecake Factory, Rosa Mexicano, Maggiano's, Smashburger, and Oceanaire Seafood. And they also got and Barns & noble, Ann Taylor, Bloomingdale's, Coach, Godiva, Hermes, Brooks Brothers, J.Crew, L'Occitane, Louis Vuitton, Omega, and a Tiffany & Co.too. This mall is always very quiet, most folks seem to be browsing. I enjoy two of the restaurants attached to this mall, Rosa Mexicano and P.F. Chang's. I occasionally have a cupcake at Mr. Cupcake before heading over to the very nice Barnes & Noble, the rest is a wash for me. It's another high end mall, but who can hate on a place that has such nice bathrooms? If you need to drop a deuce, you're way better off taking a dump here than in other places. That being said, if you need to get a Burberry shirt, Tiffany watch or Tumi suitcase, you will be well served here. One plus about this place is that they have plentiful dining options. Unlike other malls nearby, the food here actually doesn't suck. Who can say no to Houstons, Cheesecake Factory, or even Smash Burger? Lots of great places to shop and eat, though again, it's a high-end fancy schmancy place so better come here with a big bank account. Otherwise, plan on doing a lot of window shopping or hanging out at one of the last Barnes & Nobles that you will see anywhere. One note - the outdoor parking spaces are pretty tight. The Shops at Riverside is a high-end shopping mall located in Hackensack, NJ right off of Route 4 E. While northern NJ is certainly no stranger to shopping malls, The Shops at Riverside has successfully managed to carve their own niche and separate themselves from the pack. For starters, this isn't your typical NJ mall. You won't see loitering tweens wearing too-tight tank tops with a bunch of corny acronyms sprawled across the front, there aren't kiosks every 30 feet with pushy salespeople and most of the usual suspects don't occupy the retail space here. Don't get me wrong, as a twenty-something who primarily grew up in Bergen County, I appreciate the "mall rat" culture as much as any stubbornly proud New Jerseyan. That said, an occasional change of pace is very refreshing and appreciated. While it can get a bit awkward when you're at the mall on a weeknight and it's practically empty, it also allows for a more relaxed experience. The bulk of the 72 retailers which make up the shopping core at Riverside include luxury brands and specialty stores such as Burberry, Bloomingdale's, Coach, Saks Fifth Avenue Hermes Paris and Louis Vuittone and Barney's New York CO-OP. There are a few more modestly priced stores as well, such as GAP, Victoria's Secret, H&M and Barnes & Noble (which is open on Sundays). There are also some excellent restaurants located here, and quite a variety to choose from whether you want hearty Italian (Maggiano's), classic American (Cheesecake Factory), Mexican (Rosa Mexicano), hand-crafted burgers (Smashburger) or even some Americanized Chinese fare (P.F. Chang's). Most of the restaurants take reservations, so it would be best to call ahead and secure a spot as they are almost always packed. Overall, I like shopping here on occasion and think it's great for a high-end alternative to exist right in the mecca of malls. The property itself is immaculately clean, with everything from the floors to the bathrooms being maintained throughout the day with a very high standard of quality in mind which provides an appropriate ambiance. The only problem is there are mostly high end stores and it's missing a lot of other stores that you may expect to find here. I wish it had a few more shops. But because of that, the mall inside usually is pretty quiet (the restaurants are what fill up first) and it's nice to walk around in the quiet atmosphere while shopping. This is another mall in Bergen County. Who knew there were so many stores so many shoppers, and so much money to spend to keep all these places open? Anyway, this mall is on RT 4 West, easy stop coming from the city. Bloomies is here, always a fun place to visit. And Saks. Louis Vuitton. Tiffanys. Hugo Boss. And more. Many more. They also have some more upscale chains, think PF Changs, Rosa Mexicano, Morton's steakhouse etc. Parking is ok here. But its never as crowded as the Paramus mall down the road, so the parking is pretty much always easier. read more

The Shops at Riverside are a very different than the other malls in Bergen County. This place is never packed, even during the holiday shopping season. The majority of the stores here are very high end; the other malls don't have these stores. The layout of the mall is very different. There is no food court, no kiosks every few feet, no planters, or any of the other things you'd normally see in a mall. There are leather couches lounged around some of the stores, but that's about it. The food options are pricier chain restaurants, including Morton's Steakhouse. Best part about this mall is the lack of mall rats. And the abundance of hilariously overdressed housewives of Bergen County. It amuses me when the salespeople pass over me to target these people, especially when they I end up buying a lot. read more

If there's one thing I enjoyed about New Jersey is the number of malls you'll find all over the place. This one in particular was fun to browse; notice the word "browse" because while looking at some dresses at one store, I nonchalantly look at the price tag. "Oh look at that, only $3,800 for this dress; yeah sure, wrap it up while I pick out three more." The shop keeper had not even been aware that I was there (probably due to my enormous height) until I was exiting and she kindly says to me: "Hello!!" and I kindly said back "Goodbye!" She started laughing right away and I'm sure she knew why, it's a reaction she's probably use to when people come to the store. I just don't see how the average person can realistically shop here because the dresses didn't really look like anything out of this world. You must really be in a spending mood to dish out that kind of money on a dress. You will find all those fancy Shmancy restaurants here too like Cheesecake factory, Houston's, Pf Changs, and some others all conveniently located within walking distance from each other. read more
