This is one of their larger locations in The Shops at Riverside which is exciting because they have more goodies to choose from than the average. Bloomingdale's is on the ground level, which makes it accessible right after you park. I was coming to purchase a new Moncler as I sold one of my previous coats and needed a larger size. An employee came over to assist-- I assume she was seasonal because she seemed nervous. Anywho, she had to get another worker to assist her, and that's when things got a little odd. I felt like the second employee thought I was doing something nefarious. We eventually got the transaction completed though. They did have a wonderful promo where you get a $600 gift card, if you spend over $2000, which will come handy and only reason I came here, along with the lack of tax in NJ. However, going forward, I'll probably stick to 59th Street, where I've never had an issue or any apprehension about my purchases. read more

This is my first time here and taking a close look at this store located in "The Shops at Riverside" in North Bergen, NJ. The store is bright, super organized, and clean. The employees are always ready to help without being intrusive. I only walked through a few areas. I didn't get to see much of it. I will come back tomorrow and try to explore as much as possible. This Bloomingdale's in Riverside mall is such nice luxurious store spanning over two floors. It's well designed with fancy interior, flooring, unique lights and wall decor. Ever since getting their credit card for a promo from the store, I have been a regular shopper here. They have incredible collection of sunglasses, watches, handbags of luxurious brands. The men's section is also excellent with lots of quality brand good. Home goods section has really nice items. Second floor is all women's clothing. Again it's a well curated inventory of all of the brands they work with. The prices of the goods are according to the brand name and quality. Having Bloomingdale credit card helps a lot, as they offer a lot of extra discounts and rewards for using the card. I also often go to this store for online order pickup and returns. The customer service counter staff are very friendly and helpful. Never had any issues with my returns. read more

I love shopping at Bloomingdale's because they have a large selection of women's dresses for various occasions for every day, for work, and special occasions. On this particular day, I was trying to find a dress for a wedding and was supposed to wear fall colors and so Bloomingdale didn't disappoint. They had a large selection of evening gowns in various four colors, browns greens champagne. I was able to find a dress I think probably a little pricey but The dress was beautiful and I'm sure I'll wear it again the evening gowns ranged in prices from $150 to over $1000. The service is not as great as it used to be not sure why maybe too many people maybe not less staff not quite sure why but it service is not that great. I had to find someone to address any questions that I had and that was difficult. Parking is always a challenge on the weekends and evenings. You have to drive around a couple of times to find a parking space. read more

I love the Aqua brand and I found an adorable sweater with fringe on sale. I know they recently redid the store and they made it way more hip. I want to tell Bloomingdale's in Hackensack New Jersey a little story about judging a book by its cover and here it goes..., I am currently on disability and got the news that I was finally being released to go back to work. My mom is fighting cancer and I've been extremely stressed out from that thankfully she's doing much better and my mind is a little bit more is unfortunately, a few days ago I was involved in a freak accident that left my face, extremely bloated and painful to the touch so I could not put on any make up nor could I pick up my arm to blow dry my hair as my right shoulder was also affected by said accident. I was tired. I was depressed. I was ashamed of how I looked so I said to myself why not do something for me and take myself to the movies I also told myself that the perfume that I've been wanting for almost a year Tom Ford lost Cherry, which retails about $400. I was finally going to purchase to just do something to be kind to myself. I arrived at the mall an hour before the movie was scheduled to begin. I told myself that I could look around at some of the make up counters and buy a few things for when I can finally wear make up again. I went to numerous counters, looking at lipsticks thinking to myself. I was gonna buy a few new ones like a fresh start when I'm feeling better. Well no one bothered to help me. They literally just looked at me and look the other way and continue with their conversations. I immediately felt self-conscious and upset. I then walked over to the Tom Ford section where there was two young ladies talking. I stood at the testers, trying to decide if I wanted the lost cherry or the electric cherry. I looked up to see if anybody was available to help me, and they literally looked at me and went back to the conversation. I said to myself OK just go to the movie forget all that. Which is what I did. After the movie, I said to myself, you know what I've been wanting that perfume for over a year and there were two lipsticks that I had looked at that. I really were in love with. I said if it was meant to be, someone would help me. I went back to the make up area stood in front of the Tom Ford trying to decide which one I wanted. I finally settled on the lost cherry however, the same two women we're still there talking not acknowledging me. I began to feel very self-conscious and was about to leave when a young Asian woman named Kristina . I believe she was by the Estee Lauder counter looked over and said to me are you OK? do you need any help? I was so grateful that someone wasn't judging me on the way that I looked today. I immediately purchased the lost cherry perfume and two lipsticks from another line not only that I opened a credit card. Kristina treated me with kindness and grace, and I made sure to tell her that because she was the only person in that entire department that bothered to take a second look at me based on the way I was dressed, and the fact that I didn't have my hair makeup done Back to my opening sentence don't judge a book by its cover. Can I really afford to spend all that money no but I did it anyway because I deserve it. No one has a right to judge me because I have on a sweatshirt and jeans and no make up and a hat on so with that being said, I truly hope Kristina gets commission where she works in that department and I hope my opening a credit card helps her reach her goal because I know that they pressure workers to get them. As soon as I pay it off, I plan on closing it because I wouldn't give that place my business again. Teach your employees that people come in all shapes sizes colors, etc. just because we look a certain way on a particular day doesn't mean that we should be disregarded or treated that way, especially in today's world. If it weren't for Kristina, I would've just walked out and never gone back in. I probably would've bought the perfume at Sephora where I already have a credit card but because of her kindness that's why I made my purchase. She also was nice enough to run over and get me a bunch of samples to try out . She's an example of a good employee the rest of them not so much. read more

I almost always find what I am searching for and for a competitive price. They make a lot of great deals during the holiday season which is a big plus and their loyalty program is unbeatable. Bloomingdale's to me has always been Macy's on their best behavior. I shop the sales so years ago I wouldn't even bother browsing as their pricing was pretty rigid and inviolate. Painful pricing only increased your pleasure, or so they thought. Now with the internet and TJ Maxx lurking you can just wait five minutes and they'll be marking down something. In store, the service herd has been noticeably thinned but when you can find someone the staff remains attentive and knowledgeable. And kudos to management for ensuring that their displays remain tidy and looked after. Nothing's more of a turnoff than going into a store that looks like the aftermath of a natural disaster. This is not about the furniture salesperson. It is really about their customer service and their repair service, both of which SUCK. We repeatedly told the delivery service that they could not deliver to our building until 9am so of course they insisted on delivering at 745 am. When we asked them to come back that afternoon, first they said that they wouldn't; then they were going to and then they called back and said that the driver would not return. When the delivery was actually made (after several confirmations about timing), the delivery guys unpacked the furniture in about three minutes and we had no time to look at the furniture. When we finally looked at the furniture and noticed that we needed repair, the furniture repairman refused to go through the service entrance and would not stay for more than five minutes. He said that he would be back in a couple of weeks and we are now four weeks later and we've seen neither hide nor hair of him.. BOTTOM LINE, STAY AWAY FROM BLOOMINGDALES FURNITURE UNLESS YOU CAN TAKE IT HOME BY YOURSELF. USELESS COMPANY. This is a great store to shop. It is never crowded, the staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are in the high side, but quality is good.

Purchased cosmetics here, and I will never be back. I went to the Dior stand, and a sales associate from NARS helped me because the Dior associate was not here today. Another woman came and complained that the Dior associate was never working. The NARS sales associates were very helpful. However, all the Dior Lip Tattoos were sold out and colors for other Dior lip colors were missing or horribly disfigured (think: Times Square sephora) . The NAR sales associates were fantastic and even gave us NARS samples which we appreciated. My mother purchased a lipstick from YSL, and the YSL associate was not working. Vesna from Guerlain (a sales "manager") helped us make the purchase. I gave her my Bloomingdales loyallist number and she insisted that it was wrong very rudely and with many eye rolls. When I asked if she had any skincare samples, Vesna said that she had no idea. Overall, I felt horrible as I was making this purchase and I will not be back to this area. I will only be back if I need to purchase from NARS. read more

First of all, I still miss Saks. Secondly, if the customer service doesn't improve, customers will go to the countless new boutiques now in the mall. Third, we need more selection. I was shopping for a gift in the men's department and the pickings were slim. Fourth, for those complaining any poor service in cosmetics, don't blame Bloomingdale's. Each brand has their own counter representatives paid mostly by them. Fifth. Paying attention to all clients, especially long time, repeat customers and new customers, is key to keeping the brick and mortar store alive. Some, not all, of the associates seem more interested in chatting with associates or relatives visiting or dashing out for dinner. They are NOT professional sales associates. However, all that aside, the management team is stellar and addresses issues when they hear of them. I'm sure they have issues retaining too talent now. The curbside, on line and at home rapid delivery have been exceptional these past two years. There are many excellent on line sales and promotions and unlike Saks, Bloomingdales has stayed the course and partnered with local community partners to raise awareness of worthy causes so it has earned four stars. Correct some of the minor issues above to win back the fifth. read more

I'm only giving 1 star because of the NARS makeup counter. The ladies at the counter were very professional and knowledgeable. I can't say that for the Charlotte Tilbury counter. I'm a black woman and it's already hard to find the correct shade of foundation, so I waited to get matched. But I guess they didn't want to deal with the color of my skin because the proceed to assist the white woman that came after me. With that said, I will never step foot into Bloomingdales again. Beware of Bloomingdales online! Years ago I stopped shopping at Bloomingdales in store because of their terrible customer service and vowed to only by home goods on line. Today I purchased some lovely towels in their Friends and Family sale. There was an option for next day delivery $8. Sounded like a great idea so i opted in. NO Where did it say it was an outside delivery service that would require you to sign for your package! Some random guy not UPS came to my house rang the door bell and left when no one was home. I was refunded for the towels but not the $8 fee until I called Bloomingdales and complained. What a racket! I then reordered the towels and will wait the ten days it will take to get here free shipping! read more

Bloomingdales has superior customer service in my opinion. Stopped in to buy a pair of jeans that were on sale for the weekend. I went in on Monday and didn't realize that the sale had ended the day before. The jeans were priced at $150 and were 25% down to $112 the day before. I tried the jeans on and wanted to buy them. Pulled out my phone to double check they were still on sale (something I should have done before I drove to the store) and I realized the sale was over and they were back to full price at $150. I went to the desk and said to guy working there that they were on sale yesterday and asked if they could make them the price they were the day before. He said they would have no problem honoring that for me. It's service like that which wins customers for life. Paid my $112 and walked out with my new jeans. read more

That being said, the store is extremely organized, clean and offers superior customer service. Nordstrom is far inferior to this store due to their extremely weak sales section. The salesperson checked his computer and told me that Bloomingdales at Hackensack, NJ has this item, but he can't order it for me, I have to call and make the order via phone. Anyways, I called around 2PM west coast time, which is about 5PM in NJ. This lady Threasa helped me with my purchase over the phone. She was very professional and patient. I haven't shopped at this Bloomingdale's since I worked there back in the late 90's. It has definitely changed a lot since then. I used to work in the Men's Department, in the Tommy Hilfiger section--yes that's how long ago I used to work there. Tommy Hilfiger no longer exists at Bloomingdale's, thankfully. The first thing I noticed with the Men's section is that it's brighter and taller. Designers like Zegna, Boss, Abboud and Lauren have pronounced sections, but selections from lower end designers are also available. I looked at a few winter coats from Zegna and Boss but didn't find anything that fit the way I wanted it to. I ended up purchasing a Boss button-down and a Bloomingdale's brand wool crewneck. Both items were marked down considerably for no apparent reason so I had to take advantage of my favorable situation! Overall, I would like to have seen more offerings from more designers but I was impressed with the layout and the knowledge of the sale staff. If not for Century 21, this would be my favorite department store in Bergen County. You can't always get what you want... read more

I have a long history with this location. My father brought me here to pick out an outfit for a middle school dance à la Cinderella style. I used to be addicted to their b line stockings and recently I noticed that their carry the Kiehl's brand in travel sizes. My most current discovery is Ken in the shoe department. Although the shoe selection is more limited than Nordstrom, I was impressed by how well curated it was for the basic black pump. Ken got me all the possibilities and sizes. Even though I fell in love with a pair of Coach, he insisted that I get the right fit at another location. What salesman does that? Ken is a shoe lover's best friend. read more

Every time I go here I am greatly disappointed in their customer service. I am not sure if it's because these older women think i'm younger than I am, but they will blatantly ignore me while I've been standing there longer than the next person. I went in today looking for two specific items. I asked one lady if they had it in stock and she told me they could order it online for me, but I wanted to see the color in person first to make sure that I wanted it so I decided against purchasing it. Then I found another item that I wanted to see if they could order since I didn't see it in their handbag display, however I could no longer find the original sales associate so I waited in line for two ladies behind the cash register who seemed to be helping another customer. I waited until they were done, then one sales associate left with the customer and the other lady looked directly at me and then walked away. She had seen me standing there for 5 minutes. This same situation always happens at the MAC counter as well. Sorry Bloomingdale's but I will resort to other stores who carry the same items as you due to your poor service and insulting sales associates. The salespeople can get annoying in this place, even more so during the Holidays. Just strolling through the store I was accosted by several trying to assist me. I should not really complain, since in some stores it is so hard to find help when you need it. The store is pricey, but has high quality items. I have been shopping at Bloomingdales since I was a teen, I came today because a blender that I bought 8 months ago stopped working all of the sudden & I just wanted to exchange it for a new one. From the very beginning, the sales person gave me an attitude and she said she couldn't take it back because it was over 365 days. I immediately got upset because she had not even seen my records and I showed her that it was less than a year. Then she said Star she couldn't take it back anyway because it's not in sellable condition. I also asked to speak to a manager but instead just got a register supervisor. All of my years of shopping at Bloomingdales I've never heard of such a thing. I was told I had to contact cusinart and deal with them directly. I told them if I wanted to deal with cusineart I would've bought it from them, but I buy from Bloomingdales because they stand by the product they sell. They "accommodated" me by giving me 30% off but there's already a 25% off friends and family going on, so they're not doing me a great favor with their 5%. Plus I have to call cusineart and deal with all the inconvenience. Who has the time to do that? It's not fair that they randomly changed their policy and they do not notify their loyal customers. This purchase was made on my moms card but I actually have a black card and I spend quite a lot of money at this store but not anymore. Sorry but this has by far been the worst customer service experience I've had & I wish there was a 0 star review because they don't deserve 1. read more
