I happen to stop by a local jeweler while waiting to get my nails done. I asked to get my enganement and wedding ring appraised. Wedding band was appraised double. Engagememt ring was appraised less that the purchase price. Yes its been 2yrs before I got my rings appraised but I honestly thought the ads were honest about the appraisals been double. Since there claim to only buy clean diamonds. Dec 27 2022 I spoke to the Steve (Mgr) he was very direct, intensive and firmly says that it stated on the back of the receipt that only $3k below is valves double. When I told him you are being firm with me he says you are not letting me talk. You're upset. Yes I'm disappointed. Steve then firmly says will you now let me explain. I said no where in the video ads so it say that. I had also mentioned this saying double the appraisal at Jewelry Exchange in Hackensack,NJ. The jeweler agreed a well. It all boils down to honesty. When I do get an upgrade next year I will be sure to get the appraisal right away. read more

Might be the worst customer experiance I have ever experianced! Called about a setting for a diamond I currently have. Salesperson asked for the Product Code I was interested in purchasing, I provided the exact PC from their website, sales person put me on hold. 5 minutes later another salesperson (female) asks for my numbers so she could send me a picture of the one they have, I asked her if there are any size restrictions on the setting she wanted to send me, completely ignored and asked for my number again. I reiterated I wanted to make sure the stone I have will fit into the setting, ahh was the response- put back on hold. Another 5 minutes a new sales person picks up the line to again ask where to send the picture. I acquiesced and provided my information and waited. Ten minutes go by and I check my email, nope no email. I called back, the phone was answered by the 3rd saleswomen I spoke with last. I asked her how long it would take to receive the photo of the item the 2nd salesperson told they had. The saleswomen who answered the phone informed me they were looking for it???? What? I was told they were sending it over ten minutes ago. When I reminded the saleswomen of this, she interupted what I was trying to convey and her voice was much louder and firm. We went to the Jewelry Exchange and had them resized. In two hours they resized them and repaired two other gold pieces one being a family heirloom. They even replaced the missing diamond. This was one of the few places open during the pandemic this summer. The selection isnt great, prices are decent, the sales representative that assisted us was a Filipina (I believe the manager), she was knowledgeable, with acceptable customer service skills. There was however a rude representative(foreign white old lady with dyed blond dry hair, can't recall her name) who thought it was appropriate to interrupt us so she can demand we move for no reason. The store was practically empty. As a physician working on the front lines during the pandemic, I'd expect a bit better service. Anyway, now that more places are open, I'd suggest you go elsewhere. read more

This is our favorite jewelry store by far. The customer service is second to none. When we were looking for an engagement ring and the perfect setting Jennifer was so helpful and designed exactly what we wanted. They have a large selection of diamonds to pick from in so many different shapes. They explained the differences and didn't rush us at all. My ting came out exactly how I wanted! I was in search of a engagement ring for my girlfriend. I go into the store with the mindset of the ring that i wanted, three days before going into the store i searched on there website and had the ring set up for when i went into the store. I go into the store show them the item i wanted. All of a sudden the worker comes and says that the website is not up to date after three days of looking and she tried to charge me double for something that was on there website for cheaper. I went to resize my wife's wedding ring & they removed a lot of the gold from the ring to make it a size smaller. My wife kept commenting that it was thinner for months. When I went in to resize my ring months later just out of curiosity I looked at the same ring I bought from them and it was much thicker then hers. They absolutely removed gold from her ring when it was resized . They made it smaller and didn't want to make it right. They are not trust worthy. They want to charge $130 to add the gold back they removed. Will be filing a compliant soon against this business. Store manager was also rude to me. Would not let me get out 2 sentences. Picked out a ring, when I went back it was different. So I went to the Diamond Exchange on 9/24 in Hackensack and was greeted by very nice people. I looked around and saw a few rings I liked but found a wedding set I fell in love with. So the lady put a 1ct. diamond in the ring and it was perfect other than it had to be sized bigger to fit. So my husband paid for it and once paid for, I was told the jeweler had an emergency and was out of the country for 2 weeks. Okay, things happen so it was understandable. I called them at the 2 week mark and was told they would call me when it was done which ended up being closer to 3 weeks but still - all good, unforeseen things happen. So, exited I am because I'm finally going to get my rings - 3 weeks felt like 5 months.. So I go in, hand over my receipt, they lady goes and gets my rings and when she took them out of the package, the round part that goes around your finger was so thin - literally a little thicker than a pen line. One of the reason's I chose this set is because I have a pretty hard job and needed something durable and could handle it but what I received, I won't be able to wear it to work because it will be broken in less than a week. I said to the lady, what happened to the back? its so thin.. she said she didn't know. Then to top it off, I paid over $100. for both rings to be resized and I received nothing but disappointment and because the store is so far away from where I live, I'll have to take it "and pay' to have the disaster they made fixed. I also asked about an appraisal - all I got was "It should appraise for at least what you paid for it."Now, every one that has ever heard the commercial - clearly it says the diamond appraise for double. When someone is spending every nickel they have saved up since Communion you tend to make sure you cover all of your bases. I went into the "diamond district" and even Jared but in the end this is where I bought my diamond. I dealt with Edith, and if you want a deal she is the one to see. I agree with one of the other reviewers who said there was a group of people talking in the back. Every time I am there I do see groups forming but to me it does not matter because I am getting top notch service with Edith, so what the rest of the employees do doesnt bother me. Details - I bought a 1.60 round diamond with another .5 carat around the ring plus it has emeralds on the side. I was able to get the price down a little bit, and at the end of the day I had the ring appraised two times. First appraisal came in $2,000 more than I paid, and just last week I had it appraised again by another appraiser ( 1yr later ) and it came in $2,300 more than what I had paid. They have some type of guarantee where they give you up to a % of what you had paid for the ring for life. I forget the numbers but I think it was 70-75%. So if I ever wanted to upgrade at least I know I am getting a decent amount back. buying jewelry and engagement ring can be an exhausting process, but take a ride over and go see Edith and report back here.
