Really glad I found this place! Lovely, unique pieces, fair priced and friendly, not pushy staff. A hidden gem in Bergen county!

Fast Fix Jewelry and Watch Repairs

Fast Fix is a kiosk located near Lord and Taylor and right outside LOFT. They sell jewelry and do…read morejewelry/watch repairs while you shop. I'm impatient, so I got excited about the promise of immediate gratification. I brought Coach and Fossil watches that needed new batteries and a beaded necklace I wanted shortened/restrung on a Saturday morning. The young woman helping me seemed like she really didn't want to be there and wasn't very knowledgable about anything, deferring to another guy who was working. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my stuff with them but oh well, I had already committed. They were able to change the watch batteries in 15 minutes while I shopped nearby, and it cost approx. $30 for both. That was fine. However, they were not able to restring the necklace that day and told me they would call me that evening or on Monday. Ok, fine, I would have to delay my gratification. By Monday evening, I hadn't heard from them, so I called. They were like "Uh probably after 3 on Tuesday." I'm like ok, should I call or just come by? "Whatever you want." Wow, okay. On Tuesday I called after 3 as suggested, and the man told me it's probably ready. I was like dude, I have to drive almost 30 minutes to get it, and probably doesn't do it for me. He confirmed that my necklace was definitely ready. I went to go fetch it and was pleased with the result: they shortened my necklace from 18 to 14.5 inches and gave me the extra beads. When the employee rang me up, he charged me for both the watches and the necklace even though I had already paid for the watches. I did not have a receipt with me to prove it, so I'm glad he believed me. The restringing cost $18. So overall I was happy with the result but OMG the customer service. I don't know if I'd come here again for jewelry/watch repair.

If you would like your watch fixed at a high rate and very unacceptable customer service, this is…read morethe place for you. I would like to start by saying that I make my living in customer service and I have been pretty successful at it, probably because I know that I will not make a living if I do not have satisfied customers. I have been to this location (on first floor near Spencers) on several occasions. I really wish I could say that I had a pleasant experience on any of my visits. On my first visit, I entered the store and had to wait 10-15 minutes for an employee to finish his call on his cell phone. After the wait, he solved my issue and trust me I paid for it. On another visit, my intention was to ask if they can repair my Joe Rodeo watch. When I arrived there was a long line and no one at the register. So I walked up to the side window and very politely caught the attention of an employee to ask her this question. As she started to answer another employee very rudely interrupted her and told me I had to wait in line to ask a question. But the experience that shocked me the most was just the other day (which is the reason I am taking time out of my busy day to do this review.) I entered the store and after about 5 minutes a woman greeted me. I asked her to clean my watches because I was going on a business trip. She began to write up a slip and began to quote me a price (I have had it done there several times free of charge.) When I reminded her, she fulfilled my request and was very nice afterwards. BUT as I was waiting another employee comes from around the counter and proceeds to straighten up and wipe the counter right in front of me for about 5 minutes. As he began to walk away, I said "Hi sir, how are you?" He turned around and reluctantly greeted me. As he turned around I noticed his name tag read "MANAGER." Is it me or does anyone else see anything wrong with this picture? I am completely okay if a corporation is willing to employee reprobate people with negative outlooks on somethings as simple as just being polite and customer satisfaction. I will never step foot in any of these stores again. I am a very cheerful person and I do not want my day ruined after I leave this store, again. Stay away or you will have a very bad day!!!!!

Many of them had…read moreunfortunately been exposed for too long to oxygen, creating tarnish that I thought would never be removed. Much to my surprise, Danson and the team were able to remove nearly all of the tarnish! They took their time to ensure the restoration of these pieces was done right. Danson optimizes the amount of time it takes to do something with being able to do it well. I'm very happy with how Jack and the team cleaned up my silver items, and will definitely be sure to come back if I need to restore other pieces.

EDITED TO RESPOND TO OWNER:…read more Please stop with your fabrications. You weren't there when I came in. What you think you know about this interaction was likely already twisted by your girl. I spent about 5mins with her that day - i knew what i wanted when i came in. She was the one attempting to "change my decision", when she tried to pull a bait-and-switch on me, i left your store immediately. There was no back and forth on my decision-making, none of my requests "evolved" into something different, i knew what i wanted when i called and when i came in. I wanted a basket setting w/ push back that has a flap. Polyanna was trying to upsell me with different backs where she immediately doubles the price to $850. So i said no to that immediately. I told her I just want the basket settings and push backs with the flap that she quoted $450 for. When she wouldn't honor her own quote, and still want to charge me $850, i left your store straight away. It's pretty clearly "her word against mine" here, and whoever wants to believe which side, is what it is. All I'm trying to convey is that i was able to find a reputable jeweler (Alfred Jeweler) that was able to do, what you called a "minor service" at a fair price $520 with all 14k white gold. They didn't just spit out a number in the air. They weighed the gold settings and backs in front of me before giving a final price, with all the specs i wanted. No "scrap metal" as you're trying to imply. If your settings and backs are truly priced per piece and "not by weight". Then it makes less sense why the price would go up to $850. I gave her the specific settings and backs that i wanted to purchase. She quoted me $450 total. ------------------ ORIGINAL REVIEW: Please read if you DO NOT want to get swindled by this business! I have a very specific situation, but if you make it to the end of this review, it will become clear how dishonest they can be. Be wary when doing business with Danson. I've been calling around local jewelers to get quotes for mounting 2 matching diamonds (1 carat each) that i own, into stud earrings. I've searched high and low, coz I was very specific about a few things. I was receiving quotes between $400-$500, to set my 2 diamonds into 14k white gold. Pretty consistent price anywhere i called. I'd also mention i want the basket setting, push back with the flap to avoid the earrings from drooping. These are my exact words every time i make a call. So I call Danson jewelers and spoke to this woman, Pollyanna. She said they can do that and she gave me a quote at $450. Again, pretty consistent with other shops, and she said i can even watch and wait for my earrings to be set. I thought... perfect!! Well, i show up there and she was trying to upsell me with a screw back... for $850! So I said "i just want the push back with a flap, that we talked about over the phone, that you quoted $450 for". She wouldn't honor that quote, she said it would still be $850 because of the gold prices". Mind you, we just talked over the phone an hour ago from that time... I highly doubt gold shot up that high within an hour. I have done my research, i've called and been to many jewelers before showing up to Danson. For her to double the price, without even weighing the gold settings and backs on a scale, it was quite clear what she was trying to do. One big positive that came out of this though... is that i got my amazing earrings made, by my (now) amazing jeweler - ALFRED JEWELERS in Glen Rock! I got all the specs i wanted for $520. Yes, this is with the 14k white gold, basket setting and earring backs, that Danson was trying to charge me $850 for! The owner at Alfred jewelers actually weighed the gold right there before giving me the final price. For my peace of mind, he also put my diamonds under a microscope (in front of me), took pictures of what they call a "diamond fingerprint" both in the beginning, and when i picked up, so i can confirm that they're my exact same diamonds I'm taking home. I love my new studs. Sadly, Danson is just another opportunistic business that isn't thinking about a possible long term relationship with a new client.
