Respectfully gave her opinion on how much she thought I should cut off and when I told her I really just wanted an inch, she did what I asked. In my experience, many hair stylists get scissor crazy and end up cutting off way too much. So because she respected what I wanted, I will definitely be going back. My hair looks great and feels so soft too! She was very honest and had a very nice personality which I also appreciated.

In spite of being warned by several locals not to come here, we were in a last-minute bind. My husband was scheduled for a job interview and his awesome go-to stylist was an hour away, who happens to charge only $8.00. My husband was given the worse haircut he's ever had in his life. It came out choppy, messy, they left him looking like a porcupine. They don't know how to fade or blend, he had obvious sharp lines throughout. He specifically said he also wanted a fade on the neck "no sharp lines". What do they do? Cut his neckline so far up and left a sharp lined half-circle, it looked so bizarre, as though a 5-year-old performed the cut. It's especially upsetting to go through this experience and have to go through attempting to clean up the horrible mess they created. I had to clean up my husband's neck myself, because they left the hair on his neck so long you wouldn't think he just had a fresh haircut, I trimmed the areas throughout the hair that were left so obviously longer than others. It was a lopsided, disproportionately haircut. I was utterly shocked to hear we paid $29 for the worse possible hair cut - which is the most we've ever paid for a men's cut. The bottom line is these stylists lack experience; they don't know what they're doing. I see now why they have the reputation they do. read more

Jon cut my hair just the right length where it was short and had my natural wavy hair style still there. He asked how I wanted my side burns trimmed and he did a solid job with it too. Other places: I was very content with my barber for 10+ years when I lived in California, and moving to Washington just a year ago I tried two other haircut places and both didn't work out. Both places gave me a cut that I didn't want, in fact I had to go back to one shop to have them touch up the areas that were too long. As they say, "Third time is the charm", and I am glad that I tried Happy Cuts as my haircut finally worked out to what I've had in NorCal-East Bay. The verdict: I will be back. I don't live in Federal Way, in fact I'm further away in the Bonnie Lake area, so finding a good haircut place that is worth the drive should speak volumes.
