Called when they opened, made an appointment for the same day, super easy. Never had been before so didn't have a particular barber and thank god because they gave me David and he was excellent. Great conversation, a quick cut, exactly what I wanted. I have longer hair, and do a moderate modern mullet kind of style, and David killed it. Called and asked if they do "walk-in's" she said "yes but we do appointments as well." So I asked again "so you do, do walk-ins?" And she says "well it depends on how busy we are"( ya that's how walk-in's work...) then goes on to say our earliest appointment is at "X" time. And then list the other time slots available as well. I'm not sure how they don't understand what a "walk-in" is. It means you walk in. Without setting up an appointment. That's why it's called a walk-in. Why not do what every other shop does. Monday-Friday is appointments only. Sat-sun walks in only. Very successful business model. They are confusing themselves, customers, and losing future clients. Once I find a shop I like I stick with it. I get my hair cut twice a month. You just lost a repeat customer with your confusing "walk-in" policy. First off, stylists are very good at their job and my family has received good haircuts from this place. But the front desk staff is extremely rude. I spent 5-10 minutes trying to getting through the phone line to make appointment. By the time I got through it was 11:15 and they were booked already till 4pm. They were very short on the phone, and poor attitude. Either they are extremely busy, or understaffed. They say that they can only do same day appointments but I haven't seen a barber shop fill 5 hours of work in 10 minutes but maybe I'm wrong. read more

No staffing, poorly managed. They say they don't make appts, just walk in however, they are "booked" at 10:00am. Be honest, your wait list is simply pre booked appts. The place has gone down hill big time. The charges are excessive for the level of skill and service. read more

I am so impressed with the service I received today. I walked in not knowing what to expect. I am new to the area and was a little nervous I have to say. When I walked in and was greeted with a warm welcome. Holly happened to be standing at the counter when I walked in. I needed a cut and color. I have baby fine hair with cowlicks and expressed ybe need for someone that could work with that. To my surprise Holly put me right in her chair. She made me feel so comfortable, and we discussed my needs. With that she had some great suggestions and ideas for me. In the end she did an amazing job on my hair, color cut the whole nine yards. Rad. I just went to the Shop to have my long ass mop sliced off. I hadn't had a haircut in over two years. My stylist Molly did a good job and knew exactly what I was going for. If you are looking for a salon with a barbershop like atmosphere and almost metropolitan feel in Enumclaw, look no further. I felt guilty paying $18 for a haircut as if it were done in the city it would have easily been a $50 trip to the salon. They have wifi, and seem to be able to handle walk-in customers without any issue. I will likely go back for my next haircut. read more

New to town, and this was my first experience at The Shop. I literally walked right in the door at 2pm and was seated for a haircut (no appointment necessary) and this is the only reason they are getting 2 stars. The ambiance and decor is great, as well. Long story short, I will not be returning. I figured for the price of $25 that I'd be getting a "cut above" usual chop shop cuts, but ended up being chopped just like the cheaper places do for $8. They are so rude here I can't stand going in, it's like a chore for them to do your hair instead of a career choice. If you don't like where you are then leave. We are done going here. About 25% of the time we get someone who gives a good men's or kid's haircut. The other 75% of the time are people who use uncleaned combs (getting large amounts of other people's hair all over us), give really terrible haircuts and are not very nice. It would be worth it if we could make an appointment to see the few people that know what they are doing but that's not how this place works. read more

The only place in town that I will get my hair chopped or trimmed. I lived in Portland for several years, and for a mid-range price cut Id frequent Bishops, and while it was your typical hipster meh joint, the shop does it how it should be. great friendly staff and they actually give you the haircut you ask for... and they enjoy the more "fun" cuts! yay! win/win and really decent prices for walking out the door not hating your life until your hair grows back out. love this place. read more

I will continue to go back! This place does a great job, well trained friendly staff, and they do just as good of a job as a salon but half the price. The don't take reservations, but if you call 10 min before you are coming in they can put your name on the list if there is a wait. So far I have not had to wait but I do know that they can get slammed, so call ahead. read more

This place doesn't take appointments and if you don't call ahead and get put on the list it's at least a 2 hour wait sometimes longer.

Okay if your a guy and need a quick cut. Not like going to an actual salon where your hair stylist actually knows you and knows how you like your hair. It's more like get you in and quickly get you out. Went in for a hair cut. Got a quick cut but, no style, no product and no conversation. I got a color there once and its turned out awful!! They left the bleach in WAY too long and my hair literally looked gray. I actually had people ask me if i died my hair gray! I decided maybe it was just color that they were bad at so I decided to take my 3 young daughters there about a month later to get cuts and found out they are horrible at that as well!! No joke...they messed up EVERY girls hair!! My 5 year old ended up with swing bob when I specifically said all one length, and keep it at her shoulders, My 10 year old's hair was all different lengths...and not in a good way. The worst was my 11 year old, she wanted about 2 inches off and did not want it above her shoulders, instead she ended up with an inverted bob!!! The worst part was that I was busy with my 5 year old and the hair dresser did not even consult me before chopping off my 11 year old daughter's hair. This was 4 different hair dressers! I don't know where they are finding these girls, but needless to say i will NOT be going back there again!! read more

I love the shop I have been going to Teresa for 8 years now and my hair is always great! I have referred many people to the shop who all return and like their results. I get a bleach and tone which many places refuse to do because many stylists do not feel comfortable but Teresa does a great job. I also enjoy the funky atmosphere of the shop they have fun pictures covering their walls and are constantly adding new ones. Everyone is super nice and you do not need an appointment which is great for a working mom I can just go when I get the chance no need to plan it out. I would suggest trying them out! read more

I came here for an all over one color. The lady that done my hair colored it way too dark. I was upset because we all know how hard it is on our hair to have to lighten/ bleach it, especially when I already have brittle hair. Well she made me pay her 150 after she told me 70 on the phone. When I was talking to the manager asking her what she can do to fix it, she said she can put in foils to make it appear more lighter. A few foils for 85. NO DISCOUNT!! So, I was thinking about just having her fix it anyways because my complextion doesn't match this color hair at all. I finally just asked her if I can make an appointment for Tuesday or Wednesday because I am a single mother and a very hard working one and have a very busy schedule. She had the nerve to tell me she can't book me an appointment even after all this trouble. They need guest service training because they have no compassion for their own damn clients. The prices are different on the web site then the actual prices and they are rude about it when you let them know.
