I came in for a haircut and blonde highlights and left with yellow / orange tinted skunk streaks. The haircut which was just a shoulder length cut with layers (her suggestion) really just cleaning up ends was $45. That seems steep for what it was but whatever - the cut wasn't horrible although some layers in the back were too short for me. But the big problem is the highlights. Especially up top. I've never seen someone place foils the way she did but I tried to trust the process. She also did not use heat for my hair to process and that was the fatal mistake. The highlights are chunky and because heat wasn't used, the top highlights didn't fully lift and came out yellow orange. Immediately when she asked if I liked it I brought those concerns up. The worst part for me was the price. I asked in advance what the price range would be for highlights. She said $80-$250 depending on length and thickness. My hair was short (shoulder) and is VERY thin. She charged me $165 when that only took her an hour and 15 minutes including the processing time. In total for the cut and color $210. Even after I complained initially that I wasn't happy. When I told her that was a lot more than I expected especially considering I now have to pay someone else (I wouldn't trust her to do it) to fix the top - she discounted me $20 for a $190 total. If you're looking for quality this is not the place. I hope my photos clearly validate this experience. (Also - the place smelled very badly, like sewage had backed up).

Part of that is that I've figured out while coming here what type of cut I liked and fit me (I initially tried a kpop style perm, coz why not), but I ended up going with a more of faux hawk style because it's so easy to maintain. Price is also super reasonable so I don't think you'll be disappointed. I would definitely call ahead for an appointment on the weekends. That being said, I'm helped by the fact my wife is Korean (I don't speak Korean unfortunately), so it helped a lot in building rapport early on, and it really helps in building a personal relationship with the folks here. If you speak Korean, you will find this place right at home. If you don't, definitely over-communicate, and bring some pictures of cuts you would like.

The stylist barely used regular scissors and instead relied almost entirely on thinning shears. I never had seen a professional haircut done this way. Thinning shears should be used selectively, not as a substitute for properly cutting and shaping the hair. My son had been growing out his hair, and instead of preserving the length and giving it a clean shape, the stylist removed a significant amount of hair with thinning shears. His hair was left frizzy ,unkempt , rough ,uneven , messy ,unstructured ,choppy, and sticking out in different directions. After spending so much time growing it out, it was extremely upsetting to see it cut and shaped this way. The issue is not the price($90.00). The problem is that the hair was cut in a way that completely disregarded what we wanted and left the hair in a much worse condition than before the haircut. A professional stylist should be able to understand the client's request and use proper cutting techniques to achieve the desired shape. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here, and I would not return.
