This was my first trip into this store as I just found it, oddly enough, doing a Yelp search. It's a smaller gun store but the staff, especially a young blonde woman, simply could not have been more pleasant. They gave a BT 9mm that I'm really interested in. It even already has the tri lug for a suppressor. It's used but damn near half the price of a new one. I'm intrigued. This smaller gun store even has a shooting range that is clean, well maintained and well run. I really enjoyed this gun shop, especially the staff, and I suspect I will be returning regularly. Oh, by the way, they have rental firearms as well that covers the entire spectrum of types and interests. I love shopping local smaller businesses and this is definitely one of these. Two thumbs up for the store. Ps. They also have a myriad of gun classes you can take. read more

Took a pistol class from James. I highly recommend the Shootist great prices and excellent staff! A very clean and well kept staff. Quit read and get there. read more

Everything could improve here. They appear friendly and respectful but the moment you don't see eye to eye on something they become rude and disrespectful. The owner is a liar. The owner also has no sense of respect for anyone else's time---- DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GIVING THEM ANY MORE OF MY BUSINESS AND IM TELLING MY FRIENDS TO WITHDRAW THEIR MEMBERSHIPS AND WE WILL FIND A BETTER GUN RANGE. read more

I intended to shoot here but when arriving found out that the fee was different than their website. The website shows $22 dollars a shooter. It is actually $25/hr. That's a big difference if you need 11/2 hrs like I did. I sent them a polite email explaining the difference expecting an email apologizing for wasting my time and gas. More importantly saying they'll update their website. I assume that they don't care enough to reply. So this is just an alert, call before you go. read more

A very comfortable local shop and shooting range. If you're new to guns and don't want to be treated like a jerk at the store this place is for you. These guys always make me feel at home. Clean facilities, safe range, good prices, solid firearm stock, fun range targets, and friendly+reliable service. Quickly becoming my go-to Denver shooting range and gun store. I am a noob and stripped the drive on a screw for my Glock 45 MOS plate while attempting to place an optic, and wasn't looking forward to the headache it would be to have it fixed. Brought it in to have them look at it and Tycho got it off in 2 seconds. Not only did Tycho mend my mistake on a Saturday, a day when a lot of their competitors don't even have a gunsmith present; he put the optic on for me. All while providing a ton of very useful information for the next time I remove and reinstall it. Service really doesn't get better than that, especially at gun stores. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone, especially if you are new to shooting like myself. read more

The facility is well maintained, convenient to get to, and not intimidating in any way. The staff is wonderful; knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive in all the right ways! Just an excellent experience all around. As a newer gun owner, I asked tons of questions, and the entire staff, took the time to talk, and explain things in an amazingly patient manner. Because of this, I joined as a member, and visit regularly (and have added to my weapon collection). I'll be taking some new dates there, as well as teaching my teenage daughters there to learn to shoot as well. Also, great rental options as well. A few personal experiences: Nick (gunsmith), answered so many initial questions, and helped me confirm/verify I had "zeroed" my new firearm (red dot) appropriately, He joined me at the lane, tested a few rounds, explained some great things about the weapon to me, made two slight adjustments, and had me check how it felt (Fing fantastic btw) and the confidence in the gun and sight i left with felt was amazing. Thank you Nick! Kenton, Dominick, Tyko, and Rose, make me feel truly welcome (even special) every time I come in or finish my lane time. They've all given me true support, and "honest" advice and knowledgeable opinions regarding various topics, weapons, and ammo, which has helped me add to my collection. Thanks to all! Special shout out to Kenton, who helped me with an unexpected issue (jamming slide on a brand new weapon). He explained why it likely happened (factory lubricant challenge), and even took the time to demonstrate and explain breaking it down, cleaning out the factory lube, and applying some new (definitely fixed the initial issue! :-) He also pointed out some of the nuances of that particular brand, and I left feeling more confident in my new gun and excited for the next chance to fire and learn about it more. Thank you Kenton! And now, I highly recommend you stop by and visit for your range time, weapon needs, and shooting questions. read more

We were looking for a range that would let us shoot both handguns and long guns and found these guys just up the road. We were able to go midday during the week, so it was open and relaxing. My father in law wanted to get the grandsons out and teach them how to shoot and this was a great place for beginners/intermediate to learn safely and have some fun. It's indoors, nicely laid out and air conditioned, which was perfect for the summer. Staff was very helpful and friendly, making our time there a blast. It's a nice storefront, clean and well laid out. Very glad to have this near our house and we'll be back! read more

Lost tall my firearm transfer paper. I purchased a annual membership one week prior, words were exchanged. The out come I couldn't use there facility anymore and they kept my $499.00. My experience was there service was scary. The facility was dirty and missy. The only good thing I got from the Shootist was being forced to look for another gun club and found a number of awesome clubs to choose from. Never did get my money back that they stolen from me. I was told sue me. James and Nicole the owners were very scary and real unappropriated, not good people at all. read more

Great place. Good service. Nice indoor range. Lots of ammo and gear in the store. I'll definitely be coming back.

Somewhat overdue review - but just had another great experience here now that they've re-opened (since the 2019 fire). I had come here a couple times pre-rebuild and always really appreciated the friendly/knowledgeable staff. Back in 2017, I was definitely new to firearms and took their introduction class (which I basically got 1-1 instruction on) and would pop into their range every couple months. Always loved that experience - friendly folks, low pressure atmosphere. Flashfoward to 2021 and I heard they re-opened so I took a trip out here. I had been looking to upgrade/change my firearms and had a couple in mind. I walked in (and wow it looks so much nicer!) and Josh greeted me and asked what I was looking for. I told him I was looking to possibly trade up and it turned out they had one of the guns I was looking to get in stock. Josh was super knowledgeable and walked me through all the features. I was sold on the gun - but wanted to also see if I could get a good price for my existing ones as a trade. They made an offer that I felt was fair, with pretty much no back and forth which I appreciated. After all - I walked in unsolicited and really did not want to deal with the hassle of consignment or private sale (others might and that's totally ok!) I've bought guns at big box stores (eg Sportsman's Warehouse and Cabelas) - and while I didn't have bad experiences there - it definitely was less personal than the folks at the shootist. In my case the pricing was exactly the same as well - so it was a no-brainer. Anyways after all the background checks were done and the purchase was complete - I went down to the range (which was empty on a Saturday !) Dan, the RSO walked me down and it was nice to get a few tips from him since no one else was around. Really appreciated that. Overall - this was one of the friendlier, approachable experiences to firearms I've ever experienced. Kudos to the staff (I honestly talked to a few more people there, but I didn't get their names). They weren't very busy - but honestly even if they were I would have still had a great time. I want them to stick around so I highly recommend the folks at the Shootist! read more

The people here are amazing! Super friendly and very helpful. Stalls are always clean and they have pretty good ammo prices too

I love this place. The staff is so friendly and makes you feel extremely comfortable. My friend came for her first time and they helped find a gun that she felt good shooting. She ended up loving it and wants to buy her own now. Tyler was great at helping us anytime we needed him. I will always come back to this range. read more

Best range I've been to so far. Been here twice now and the guys are really nice and helpful but they also kinda let you do what you came to do without breathing down your neck and that's great for me. There's a reason why I come alone so I appreciate this so much. read more

This was a great experience! My son had never shot a gun before but has been very interested in guns. He had no end to questions, but our knowledgeable helper was happy to answer all of them. Overall the attitude of the staff was exactly as I would hope. Friendly to newbies and willing to explain everything. They were also sticklers for safety which is really important to me. They made what could be a very dangerous activity feel extremely safe. Overall we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it! read more

Josh (current sales guy, soon to be teacher) was so helpful! We tried a few handgun options and Josh was great and explaining the differences in feel and shoot. I wanted to learn gun safety and The Shootist was recommended to me by my neighbor. I received first class training and service from the staff. I have gone back to rent and shoot. The range has been remodeled since I last shot there. The staff was very friendly and I would highly recommend you give this range a chance for all your firearms needs. I will be back! Thanks Paul, first of for your service to our country! Thank you for taking the time to show my wife and I a pistol that she would be comfortable in putting into battery and overall simple operation. WOW!!! I have always wanted to shoot a gun. This being my first time, I don't have any other place to compare it to. I have to say it was freaking awesome!! Before we went I got the rundown on safety. How to hold the gun correctly, check if it is loaded, check safety features, unload, aim, and fire! It was so AWESOME, I don't really know how to describe it without being crude! It was exhilarating, I can say that! The person that took us had a variety of pistols so it was a tun of fun and we had tons of ammunition. YEAH! Come to find out I am an awesome shot! I am one not to be messed with. Not bad for my first time! I even got to keep my target! Everyone in this place is great, very helpful, and accommodating! It is a great place to go shoot. The also have a variety of targets, even zombies if you are getting ready for the zombie apocalypse! read more

The Shootist - I got to keep my target! - Gun/Rifle Ranges Near Me - Englewood, Colorado

Sunday January 4th 2009 - Day 8: Visited today to try out their shooting range. They had 10 lanes and we waited 20 minutes upstairs on the shop floor, on a gun show weekend for an open lane. All staff members were friendly to exceptionally friendly. Our ammo was not inspected. The range master was a very friendly woman and made us feel very much at ease. The range area was clean and well lit. The other shooters were also friendly. I noticed a father son combo. The kid looked about 8 years old. They seemed to be having a good time as did every one else at the range. We were allowed to shoot our 44 Magnum on a designated lane but no go for the AR-15 .223. That was the only thing keeping this from 4 stars. Nice place. The also had about 40+ hand guns for sale, a number of riffles and an AK-47 and an AR-15 for sale. They had a bunch of ammo, lots of parts and accessories and a few antiques. read more

I must confess my only reference to shooting range is on military bases and it's been a long time. I bought my wife a gift certificate to this place a couple years ago and finally today we were able to use it. My wife had never touched a gun before so I went with her to help give her support and safety guidance. After filling out the requisite legal paperwork the staff worked with my wife allowing her to hold several firearms. Since it was her first time she decided to go with a 22 caliber pistol at the suggestion of the staff. That was a good call. Before we went down the the range (in the basement) we were briefed on the firearm, safety, loading, etc. My wife who was not comfortable with guns was fully prepared to safely service and shoot the weapon. The staff was patient and answered the numerous questions my wife had. I wasn't shooting and they allowed me to come down with my wife without charging me a range fee. Maybe that's standard at other places, but it was appreciated. And frankly my wife was never going to shoot without me there to support her. After the safety briefing she got the weapon and ammo with directions to proceed downstairs and check in with the range master. We were unsure about protective gear for ears and eyes; it would have been nice to know they provide them when you get to the range. Once we got to our lane we were free to shoot at will. It was comforting to know the range master was watching us on closed circuit tv. Really at a range I worry more about the other people than myself. My wife got range time, gun rental, and 100 rounds for $34. Again I don't know what the going rate is, but it seemed pretty reasonable. They are going to do some significant renovations over the summer that will allow larger caliber riffles. So July - Labor Dayish the range will be closed; the store will be open for ammo and gun purchases. Others have mentioned and I will also reiterate you might have to wait. This place gets busy. We came close enough to opening that we didn't have to wait for a lane. When I came in to get the original gift certificate there were 5 or 6 people waiting for the lane to open up. You can sign up for their annual membership which allows you to reserve a lane up to two weeks in advance. It seems you would need to really be into the gun range to do something like that. Solid place. read more

So much fun! We needed something inside to do since it was pretty chilly today. Decided to go shoot some things. It was my first time at a shooting range and I was sooooo nervous. The gentleman behind the counter showed me everything I needed to know and helped me relax before heading downstairs. Two of us, was $87. Two gun rentals, amo, 3 targets, plus the cost to shoot. I thought it was pretty pricey (even had a 20% coupon) but I also don't have anything to compare it too. read more

Solid local shop. The employees are helpful, don't have a big ego, and seem to be invested in the CO 2A community. Stock is on the smaller side, but quality. Range is 20 yards, so not very big, but again this is not a huge operation overall so not necessarily a huge disappointment. 5 stars in terms of service, 4 stars in terms of offerings. Great people and wish them continued success. read more
