I just started my research on buying/owning a firearm. I had minimal experience shooting and wanted to find a place where I could gain knowledge, instruction and experience. I researched a few places in my area & decided to try Silver Bullet after reading the great reviews about them. I took the Basic Pistol training class & loved it! I was 1:1 with my instructor, Gurdy, who was energetic, kind and patient. He was extremely thorough in his instruction, and eager to answer all of my questions. Once we got to the actual shooting part of the class, he was wonderful about giving me constructive feedback to improve my accuracy. This picture below is of my target! I'd say it's pretty good for a newbie! I absolutely loved the experience, & bought an annual membership. I look forward to improving my skills at this friendly, safe place. I highly recommend it!

Although the guy behind the counter was friendly, this place needs to hold their "classes" after hours or not during peak range time when customers are walking in looking to rent a lane. There was a 4 hour wait so we left to go somewhere else.

That being said, there is nobody I'd rather spend 8 hours with than Noah Damm. He is funny, knowledgeable, and makes the class fly by. FYI: you do get a lunch break and the bbq spot he recommended was on point. I learned so much and I'm glad I took my class there. The range there is great and they have some really great deals that my normal range doesn't have. I will definitely return to this one. They have ladies night, kids night, and a great selection of guns. Plus if you want to try a different gun, they don't charge you again. I love that. Everyone that worked there was super nice and helpful too. I highly recommend this place for range practice and for getting your CCP or if you're interested in any classes. Big Joe (I think that was his name) also helped me on the range and both he and Noah were great instructors that don't make you feel nervous. I've only been to 3 ranges in Denver but this is by far my favorite.

I have seen many reviews from beginners who claim they felt unwelcome and were even yelled at during instruction. I am a firm believer that to grow positive gun culture and safeguard our rights, we must create an environment where curiosity amongst newcomers is welcomed with respectful supervision and correction from RSOs. This relationship goes both ways between the establishment and newcomer. If you choose to explore and learn at BlueCore, know that the person instructing you is responsible for not only your safety, but the safety of others. Have some grace with them and they will have some grace with you. Safe shooting!

Lack of maintenance or reinvestment of Blucore's funds back into the target retrieval system, 2. Minimal lighting within the 100 yds range and shooters booths, 3. shooter's booth table tops are loose, need to be recovered and extremely hazardous to the shooter, 4. trip hazard on the flooring, and 5. the air purification and fresh air recycling system is deplorable and is extremely dangerous health hazard to the shooters. In conclusion, I'm having a difficult time understanding why the owners are not reinvesting funds back into BluCore Shooting Range to make this an Elite and Safe shooting environment for their customers. I hope there will be change soon at this facility.

Someone asked about wearing masks with a concealed weapon and he said as long as it's a surgical mask you should be fine. The man that asked was a older white man with a cloth black mask. I asked if my mask was ok? I was wearing a black surgical mask from a dental office John said NO! I asked him what was the difference between the blue one he was wearing and the black one I was wearing! He said he was the teacher and didn't have time to argue the matter! I turned my mask around to the white side and he yelled at me that now I contaminated everyone in class and if I wanted to change my mask I had to do it outside! Even though I told him I was tested negative! So the white guy with the black mask was ok but the brown Hawaiian lady was not ok. So I shut my mouth and didn't ask any other questions after that and took the whole class with out saying another word and got my certificate at the end! Ego!!! GO SOME WHERE ElSE IF YOUR NOT WHITE!

Plenty of lanes makes it easy to grab a spot even on a busier weekend day. Three different public ranges all with cover and sound enclosures on three sides. Ranges include: one for pistols and rim fire, one for any firearm (rifle, pistol, carbine), and a third for shotguns. Shotgun range has clay target launchers that are in great condition and well maintained. We normally stop at Murdochs in Silverthorne to stock up on ammo and clays before we head out the range. Great way to teach the kids how to handle firearms responsibly and/or get guns sighted for hunt season. Range Safety Officers are great, but are all volunteers and not on-site all them time.

We've gone shooting at a couple indoor ranges in Denver/Lakewood, we've been shooting out in Lost Park near Jefferson. Neither situation had me feeling 100% comfortable. The indoor shooting centers were full of gun bros who weren't friendly and were intimidating, scoffing at lack of knowledge. And not chill. Being outside in a national forest area is cool, but you also have a lot to watch out for and be careful about. You have to pick your spot wisely. We pulled off in Keystone up the road toward the public shooting range. It's also the road to the landfill. Avoid the line--if there is one, drive around it to the left and squeeze in to the right (through the line) and around the weigh-in station. Continue up the road a little bit, and you're there. Park along the road, and walk on up. It's free. It's also very well maintained. They provide free earplugs, duct tape to hang targets--they even provide targets for free! One range is for police only (and was in use and a little scary/cool to watch). One range is for shotguns and trap shooting. The other two ranges are for yer other guns. One is covered, one isn't. All they ask is that you clean up your trash and brasses. We can all do that, right? It was a Tuesday afternoon when we went. There were a couple families with small and early teens kids, teaching them about guns, a younger couple, and a couple dudes. Everybody was friendly, and cooperated when the range was cold. Plus, look around you. Ignore the landfill below, and check out the mountains all around. It's GORGEOUS here. Again, it's free. They have a very small, humble donation box to help keep up the range. I feel like $5-10 per visit would be fair for them to charge, so cash comes in handy.
