had the worst interaction with a Phil, who works here. He claims he's a contractor, but he's there almost every day. I purchased a gun from him and he said there was only 150 rounds through it. The barrel and other components have extra wear. and I think I was lied to. I normally buy only new products not used products I just wanted everything that came with the gun as a complete set. For resale value. and he kept saying he's doing me a favor and got really upset with me because I've contacted a few times. yet every time he said he would reach out and never did. So I said that I feel I'm being dodged. And he snapped!!! what? Horrible customer service I would totally avoid this at all costs. yelling at me over the phone telling me to bring the gun back so I can get my money back which is not what I asked for at all. I just started my research on buying/owning a firearm. I had minimal experience shooting and wanted to find a place where I could gain knowledge, instruction and experience. I researched a few places in my area & decided to try Silver Bullet after reading the great reviews about them. I took the Basic Pistol training class & loved it! I was 1:1 with my instructor, Gurdy, who was energetic, kind and patient. He was extremely thorough in his instruction, and eager to answer all of my questions. Once we got to the actual shooting part of the class, he was wonderful about giving me constructive feedback to improve my accuracy. This picture below is of my target! Silver Bullet is a classic, it has been around for many years, while it does have known issues with ventilation because of its age and lack of updates (hopefully they fix this soon). But for a cheap quick to access range with minimal weight times and use of most any platform, including shotguns, this is the range for you. I maintain a member ship for the random days I want to swing through right after work and blow off some steam! Highly recommend! read more

December 27th 2008 - Day 1: Today I visited The Silver Bullet Shooting Range accomponied by my friend, and a large pile of guns and ammo. This little "gem in the wall" is up by Highlands. Clientelle was ok and courteous. No creepy folks. The staff was nice and friendly. I felt like I was in an old Greyhound terminal while I was waiting for an open lane. There was a gun show in town that weekend which drove up the wait time to 30 minutes. A little dusty and dirty but not bad. Another patron complemented the owner/manager that he really enjoyed the quality of the range as he left. Customers appeared content. Our Lane was 15/hr or 10/hr with membership. The staff inspected our manafactured ammo and allowed us to use the one designated range they had for our AR-15 with .223 ammo. We were there an hour and a half and all went well although it was a bad day to be a paper target. I will return for more fun with Silver Bullet Shooting Range. January 4th 2009 - Day 8: I returned on a Sunday at high noon and there was a 2 hour wait. I did not stay. If I return on the weekend I will get there when they open at 10 am. read more

I've been to several in town when I started shooting and the staff here were above the rest. Friendly, helpful and nonjudgemental but ready with advice if I asked. Of the several ranges I went to as a new shooter, this is where I felt the most comfortable and welcome. Classes are great and the conceal and carry program was great and not some rush job. It's not your posh joint but the I found the atmosphere great. It's a range above all else, while they do have firearms for rent/sale, keep in mind the primary focus is as a range and you can't go wrong. read more

Was fun, range officers are on the ball. Stern but fair.... which is what you want when it comes to safety at a shooting range! I like the security cameras that watch the shooting area and the fact that the employees walk around to see what everyone is doing and if they need help. We needed help with our smith and wesson, and the guy helped us out and got it working again. We brought our own gear to shoot so was pretty good price to just rent a lane also. Its summer so be warned its a little hot inside. There is a 7-11 right next store full of cold drinks so problem solved. Other than that no complaints. read more

I just got back from my first time at Silver Bullet and I couldn't be happier. I shot both my pistol and my rifle and I found the range staff to be extremely professional and courteous. My pistol had a failure to return to battery and the Luigi and the other gentleman working examined it and determined it was an ammo issue (my fault for using cheap ammo). The staff also gave me some pointers for zeroing in an optic on my rifle. There are only five lanes, so make sure to call ahead to make sure there is room. They have a few rules like most of the ranges in the area regarding what types of ammo to use. No steel cased ammo and the ammo must pass the magnet test. I will definitely be returning to Silver Bullet. They also are an FFL so you can order a firearm online and have it shipped to them! read more

This shooting range is pretty small and you can easily get hit by the next guy's shells and they will litter into your standing area. There's 5 lanes. The service was pretty respectful though I came in wearing a floofy skirt so they were kind of set off by that. But when I asked for a different pair of glasses since the ones they gave me were all scratched right in front of the view, they were joking around and nice about it. It's $16/hr and if you want target paper it's $1 each and if you want bullets...you can see how it adds up. But apparently they have pretty good membership deals. The parking lot is small and awkward so don't drive a huge car. read more

I liked the staff but the ptsd patrons in the range were highly annoying. I could not enjoy learning about and shooting my .40 taurus with my room mate and his girlfriend. I was very high on gun safety but the people shooting with and around me were dangerous and made me not want to be in the lane any longer. read more

I visited this range as a first time shooter with an experienced friend. The staff were welcoming and not at all intimidating. We had a bit of a wait, but we got in a bit more than an hour of shooting time, and it was a super pleasant experience. A couple weeks later, I chose to take my CCW course here, as they are one of very few who have a very open schedule. Because of their flexibility, I got to choose my times, and I received one-on-one instruction from a friendly, knowledgeable guy named Jimmy. I don't know ANY other place around who'll offer one-on-one for less than an arm and a leg, if at all. The course ran three sessions, and I probably invested about 5 hours of total time and consider it a worthwhile investment. As a first-timer, I needed a lot of guidance, and I got all I needed to more than pass my test and leave feeling comfortable with preparing to concleaed carry. It's quite far away from where I live, but I'll definitely return because of the positive experiences I've had there. read more

I don't know how a gun range pulls off the small-and-intimate feel, but this joint does. There are only 5 or so lanes, and a crowd can form quick, but the waiting area is comfy enough and lanes are reserved by the hour, so the gentlemen here stay on top of lettin' you know when you go in and shoot. Our man was super patient, and an excellent instructor-- he gave us a quick rundown off how to load and handle the weapon. Was not pedantic or condescending at all (which I've found, generally speaking, is difficult for most experts in any given field). Two guns and two boxes of ammo on one lane between she-beaux, her besty, and I ran about $140. Solid. p.s. I give a mean haircut with a .22, and she-beaux can basically shoot the eyeball out of a flying eagle. Swoon! read more

Great range--friendly staff. Everything always works well and is clean. If you're bringing your own guns and ammo, the price for just the range is also super reasonable. They also don't charge any fees for bringing your own ammo (so long it's not on their very short list of "not approved" brands/types), which I've encountered in several other ranges. The only downside is that the range is very small--there's only 5 lanes, so especially on the weekends, there can be a pretty significant wait time. This is obviously not through any fault of theirs, so no reason to lower their rating because of that, but just be aware. read more

Visited Silver Bullet for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The service was great, and it is a convenient place to go if you want to practice indoors. I prefer outdoor shooting, but if the weather is bad, this is my go-to place since it is a quick drive from Downtown Denver. It is nothing fancy inside, but about what is expected for a shooting range. They have some tables and chairs with magazines to read while you wait. I went in on Sunday afternoon, and I got a lane right away. Depends on the day I guess. read more

These are good guys and they're nice too. That is rare sometimes because I've been to ranges where the guys are total jerks. Tip: pay for a year's worth of sessions, get a punch card, and they will let you make reservations. Otherwise, it is first come, first served. They only have four lanes, so you could wait a while. A lot of the customers are "regulars," who enjoy shooting and talking about guns. I took an NRA course there taught by Manuel Apodaca, the owner that was excellent. Four of us came from the east coast to Denver for a bachelor party and our itinerary included: SHOOT GUNS. We had a great experience shooting as first-timers and the staff at Silver Bullet took great care of us. We were taught in detail how to safely operate the guns we were renting so that when it came time to shoot, we were confident and able to really enjoy ourselves. Silver Bullet was the first indoor range I had ever been to and it was a bit of a shock (let's face it-if you've never been to an indoor range you probably have a "hollywood" perception of what they're like). The place is spartan: some tables and chairs in the front "waiting room" and five lanes. Another surprise was that there are windows looking directly into the lanes from the front of the shop. So my first time there was fine & the people there were nice enough, but I was overwhelmed & slightly nervous due to the indoor-ness. Overall probably a 4 star rating. When I came back a week later for my one-day CCW training course I felt much more comfortable with the situation and so I was more relaxed. I was also lucky enough to get a one-on-one class with Russ (the other guys didn't show up for the class for some reason). This is where my rating goes up to 5 stars. Russ was great. He answered all my questions and gave me a piece of advice I hadn't thought of that was worth the cost of the course by itself. After spending the day there I actually felt at home which is pretty amazing seeing as how I'm not really a "gun guy." Obviously I highly highly recommend you give this place a chance. If you spend some time there the employees really warm up and there isn't any heavy macho attitude to deal with. I also highly recommend the CCW course. If you're lucky and get a small class you basically get a private session with an NRA instructor & all around good guy who's willing to answer whatever questions you throw at him. A couple other notes: You can sign up for a membership which gets you cheaper lane fees and you can also email/call ahead to reserve a lane. They're also putting together a "ladies night" and specific handgun defensive training for women (something that I STRONGLY believe in) all taught by a knowledgeable _woman_. So there you go. I hope this review wasn't too long & maybe gets a couple women who are on the fence about handguns to take the plunge and learn how to protect themselves. read more

Evidently, they don't honor gift certificates after a year, but didn't bother to share that with anyone until we decided to try and schedule our course. Won't refund his money either. Not only is this place expensive, the backstop sucks. I was hit in the arm (nice little gouge) chest (bruise) and leg by debris. I had literally shot three magazines and was busy reloading when I was hit. Not only was the owner/manager unconcerned, he also requested I pay since I did sign a waiver. So I paid $17 for 10 minutes of range time two bruises and one cut. Oh and the owner actually said "it happens all the time." Not to me it doesn't. read more

I signed up for their 3-day CCW class since I have very little experience, and they put me totally at ease. I'd been in Denver for a month for a short term assignment for work and searched yelp for a place to practice and unwind. Back home I belong to private range and have not actually shot at a public range before. It was easy. I spent a about 5 minutes reading the range rules and safety rules and the friendly staff set me up with some targets and a brief intro to their shooting lanes and equipment. I brought my own weapon and ammo, but they have loaners and ammo to rent and purchase. I think they have about 5 or 6 lanes. The target trolleys and lighting were in good condition. I paid 18$ for a lane for an hour. No pressure, very friendly, eager to help. read more

The staff is very nice and the price for range time is comparable to other local indoor ranges. We got there right at 10am when they opened and didn't have to wait fora lane. There are only 5 lanes. Do not buy ammunition there, it is a huge rip off, I purchased 45mm and .357 and it cost double-triple what it would have from a retail store. Been here before and agree with most of what the other reviewers have said, however today I got there started shooting and pretty soon a staff member tapped me on the shoulder and said "hours up" I nodded and he left, I looked at my phone and realized I'd only been there 20 mins. So I continue to shoot, he comes back all pissed and I pointed out I'd only been there 20mins. He says it's written down that i got in over an hour ago but he will go back and check. I finished my Ammo ( was there 35 minutes max) and checked out. No apology or nothing. My advice is go elsewhere, the rates are the same as other places why put up with poor customer service? read more
