I have used this service before. Made an appointment with Danny. He was so busy that he didn't arrive at my apt. until almost 8:00. He is professional, courteous and does a great job. Sharpened 10 knives and 3 scissors in under a half hour. He handled my knives with the greatest of care. No more squashed tomatoes from dull knives!! I highly recommend his service. read more

Subject: Terrible experience with Danny, mobile knife sharpening store. I am writing to express extreme dissatisfaction with the skills and quality of Danny sharpening service. I entrusted my knives, to this mobil company, but unfortunately my knives were completely ruined. Danny shaved at least 1/8 of an inch from all of my knives, and also managed to break two of my meat cleavers. I am beyond angry and disappointed. The lack of skills in sharpening knives is evident, and it is unacceptable for someone in your profession to deliver such poor results. I regret ever coming across this website. utilize mobile knife sharpening store for convenient is a lesson learned. read more

Danny is a craftsman and perfectionist at sharpening If anyone sees my Instagram m_en_u_nyc they know I'm serious about both my cooking and my blades. He is not only good at what he does while enjoying his craft , he's personable and cares Recommended read more

When my 10 year old pruning shears failed to cut tulip stems in one try, I searched for what to do (I didn't even know someone could sharpen shears) on yelp. And I am glad I did! Danny was responsive and I was able to make an appointment right away. Upon emailing back and forth, I learned that he would be able to sharpen more than knives and shears. I gathered all the blades in my apartment, packed them up and left them with the doorman expecting he would be unable to sharpen several of them. Lo and behold, he sharpened everything expect for the finest tooth blade for Benriner Mandolin!! (not shown in the photo) I was floored! He was completely reasonable with the price too given that I was only a click away from ordering new pair of pruning shears and other old tools. My blades were given new lives and I am so happy to be using my trusty tools everyday. Thank you so much Danny!! read more

The Sharpest - Danny was able to sharpen all of the above! - Knife Sharpening Near Me

Due to covid, my usual knife sharpening place was closed permanently and i was devastated! Once you get your knives sharpened, you can't ever go back. I was on a hunt and after a few fails, I can now say my knives have never been sharper! I made an appointment through text and got only 3 of my most used knives sharpened. I wanted to test the waters before i jumped in. He picked up my knives and was done in about 20-30 mins! I tested them out and everything cut like butter! I was so happy with how my knives came out and will be sharpening the rest of my knives with The Sharpest! Danny was very friendly and accommodating. He's good at what he does and is very professional. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family! read more

It's been very difficult to find a knife sharpening service whose primary service is sharpening knives. Who wants to go to a shoe repair place for knife sharpening? This business finally popped up on my radar and checking more google reviews made it look like a solid business. I called to talk and made an appointment. They come to you and I got a next day appointment. They will come out further if you have some 5 or more knifes. In 40 mins he did 8 knifes and 1 scissors. Price was very good and the result was very good. I recommend The Sharpest and will call them back in a few months. Finally got my set sharp again and all before the holiday cooking is about to start. read more

Great service. Danny came to my apt building and sharpened the knives out front in his vehicle. Excellent communication and the knives are as sharp as the day I bought them. Highly recommended to others. read more

We arranged for Danny to come to our co-op for a couple of days as the demand was high. I suspect he will have to come back soon as everyone else finds out what a nice job he did. He parked outside, we dropped off our knives and picked them up later. He is super friendly and knows what he is doing. My knives are like new. Very reasonably priced as well! read more

It was really easy working with them. Very responsive and courteous. I gave them a huge bag of items, many in bad shape, some high-end some low and it all came back sharp and well cared for. I was especially impressed that they were even able to shapen my vintage vegetable peeler and cheese planer. read more

The Sharpest - Knife Sharpening Near Me

Danny sharpened my knives and scissors to perfection. He was communicative beforehand and answered all of my questions about how to keep knives from chipping. It was super easy when he arrived, he parked his van outside my house, I brought the knives and scissors and he brought them back to me in paper sleeves after he was done. Would recommend, especially living in Sheepshead bay and there aren't many good options nearby. read more

Danny was super nice and knowledgable about knife sharpening. He does curbside sharpening (he routes the knife sharpener to this car battery so he's able to do it anywhere - genius!). Would definitely use his services again, prices are reasonable and he comes right to your building! read more

I really wanted to try his service because my knives really needed a good sharpening. I actually never got to try because the person running this business is MIA. Reached out on Yelp and got no response. Found his number and texted. Took 48 hours to get a response. Initially agreed on a Tuesday, then he changed to a Wednesday. No notification from him on Wednesday and I decided to reach out to see if he's still showing up, no response and today is Thursday night. Now I'm going back to searching and he lost a customer. Lose lose for everyone. read more

I sent a request via the website and got a prompt response from Danny. He was able to accommodate me on the same day and pulled up directly to my apartment. So convenient! He sharpened 9 kitchen knives for me that embarrassingly enough have never been sharpened since the day I bought them (some 5+ years ago). It was a reasonable price and he had them finished in about 40 minutes. I've had a few days to test them out and they are like new. Danny does great work! I highly recommend him!!!! read more

It took three weeks to get an actual appointment which he never bothered to show up for. Ignored my texts. Why waste my time?

Danny did a great job with my Global knives. I reached out to him individually, but a bunch of folks in my apartment building also got their knives sharpened. He met us in the lobby as we dropped off our knives. Excellent service and communication. He'll be my go-to for knife sharpening from now on. read more

Danny did a great job with my knives. I gave him a bunch of random knives and a pair of kitchen scissors and they are all razor sharp. I gave all the knives the paper cutting test and they all cut through smooth like butter. I even accidentally cut my finger so easily with one of them they were so sharp. Totally my fault and he actually warned me to be super careful with them. He did all of the sharpening outside in his van and turned around 4 knives and scissors in about 30-40 minutes. He was running a little behind schedule and even gave me a nice discount which was not necessary but very appreciated. This was in January 2022 when Omicron was ripping through NYC. He wore his mask whenever we spoke which was very much appreciated. I will definitely use his services again when my knives start to get dull. read more

From the moment I reached out to Danny, he was prompt in his responses - confirming his availability and rate, letting me know how far he was as he was on his way, and when he finished. It can definitely feel strange to meet a complete stranger with knives in hand, but he proved to be trustworthy, friendly, and respectful. As soon as I received my knives, I sent a massive text blast to recommend his services to friends and family and here I am writing a review. Highly recommend and would definitely reach out to him again in the future. read more

Great service, fast, communicative and professional. Would recommend to anyone looking to sharpen their knives.

Danny is the perfect professional!  We booked an appointment easily over text, he showed up on time and did an incredible job.  He took all my knives and scissors and worked outside at his vehicle with his tools, and when done he sent me a quick text to either deliver them back to me or to have me retrieve them from him.  Easy payment through Zelle and my knives are now insanely sharp!  Nobody likes to carry a bag of knives around NYC, and yet by having his at-home service it was so convenient, efficient, and fast as anything.  Next time I'm notifying all my neighbors who are now envious that my Wüsthof chef's knives are better than new. I would highly recommend him to anyone, he couldn't be nicer! read more

I've had a chef's knife I love but after 10+ years it was waaaay past time to have it sharpened, as it didn't work at all any more. I randomly found Dan with the Sharpest on Tuesday and he said he could come over Wednesday at 1pm. He picked up my knife and less than an hour later handed it back and it works like new. Well worth the low price. And a nice guy too :D Will definitely use again and recommend. read more
