What you will find instead is top-notch shoe repair services and quite possible the best shoeshine available on the island of Manhattan -- or pretty much anywhere. Most recently, I took my beat-up, 15-year-old pair of Bruno Magli shoes to be resoled, and the results were stunning. I've had them repaired before with good results in the past, but there was exquisite attention to detail in the contour of the replacement soles; you'd hardly know that they weren't original, unless you know your Bruno Magli! The shoeshine was deep and long-lasting; two weeks after almost-daily use and commuting, there was still almost a mirror-like finish on them. Impressive. The décor and branding wouldn't win any awards, and you don't come here to chat (or to save a few bucks), but the quality of the work could hardly be better.

But they don't hold a candle to my guy in the Port Authority. (And I'm pretty sure they're a Drago outpost there, too.) This is the only shoe shine in Penn Station. Cash only. What other choice did they leave me after cutting them too small to fit? Well... they gave me zero updates throughout the process and didn't return them until I followed up which seemed to magically happen at the exact moment they were ready. In all likelihood they'd been ready but they didn't want me to see what they did this time, and they were right to feel that way. The boots are now next level destroyed. The leather is scuffed and worn out all over the place to the point where there is a very, very obvious difference between the leather at the foot of the boot and the leather at the shaft which looks like it was beaten with a mallet. But that's not it! They're still two different sizes and still have crooked seams. I've sent photos and multiple messages and no one has even acknowledged me since they returned the boots like that. These are absolute scumbags who know what they did, won't take accountability, won't respond, and won't even credit me for the $318 I paid for them to ruin beyond repair boots that were $1,995 plus tax brought to them in brand new condition. Just scheduled time off from work to go to the court and file a small claim and I am FUMING that I need to do this. I sincerely hope this company goes out of business. You can see from the reviews here how little they care about the work they do to high value and often irreplaceable items and there is no room in this great city or anywhere for a business like that.

This clean, comfortable tiny store has a staff that definitely does a thorough job. Usually once your shoes are beginning to shine, that signals the end of the shine. Here, the staff takes extra time to clean the edges of the shoes, they buff several times with several different towels and they make sure they get every nook and cranny of your shoes done before saying "Done!" or "Thank you!". While I've never used this location for shoe repair, I would definitely consider it if I need shoes fixed in the future. As I got my shine done today, I saw about four customers all come in with shoes to fix, and all of them had a comfortable familiarity with the man who did the repairs, telling me that they've been there before. Repeat business on that scale definitely shows people trust this place. In addition to repairs and shines, this store also sells a variety of nick knacks, some related to shoes (such as heel spur cushions, shoe shine equipment and so on) and others that are not (colored key wrappers, batteries etc.). Surely prices have gone up, now they charge $10. I tend to visit before 11:30am for a quick no wait shine. After 11:30am there is a good chance you will wait. I dont take my shoes for repair anymore because i stopped buying leather bottoms. My shoe of choice is either Cole Haan or Rockport, they are soft soles and usually after a year it makes no financial sense to repair, rather replace due to lack of support and because my knees need good soles to support my foot correctly.
