    Would recommend another company for your window covering needs. Ordered the shades on February 8th, 2024, with an installation date of March 23rd, 2024. The installer arrived on time on March 23rd, 2024. He was friendly and nice but seemed to be in a hurry to leave. While installing the first shade, he noticed the measurements were incorrect. I asked why he would install the mounting brackets if he knew the measurements were wrong. He said he would notify customer service and rectify the problem. While observing the installer, I noticed him dragging his ladder across my floors and accidentally dropping a couple of small items from the top of his ladder onto the unprotected floor. Additionally, one of the shades accidentally slid against the wall before he could catch it, leaving a small mark. After the installer finished, he left before I could really say anything. Upon inspecting his work, I noticed several areas of drywall damage, paint scuffs, pencil markings on the wall of my 3-month-old newly painted walls, incorrectly installed and damaged hardware, and another set of blinds that were incorrectly measured. I notified The Shade Store within an hour of the installer leaving. They requested photos, which I provided. I was then put in contact with their Client Experience Manager, Mariza Coyt. I was informed that the next available window measurement was Thursday, April 23rd. I was quite upset that I would have to wait another month for my windows to be re-measured and another two months or so for the corrected shades to be installed. I requested that the matter be escalated, and Client Service Lead, Davon Roach, contacted me a day later. I explained the situation, and he agreed that my experience did not meet The Shade Store's standards and apologized. We discussed the options and timeframe for resolving the situation. We agreed that The Shade Store would remeasure the shades, correct/replace brackets and chains throughout the home to address damage and operational issues, ensure proper use of anchors/screws, and perform patching and painting throughout the home related to the original installation. The only point of disagreement was who would provide the paint touch-up. I offered to provide the manufacturer and paint information so The Shade Store could order, pay for, and pick up the paint. However, Davon informed me that I would need to purchase the paint myself, and they would consider reimbursing me later. In my experience working with various vendors over many years, I have never been expected to pay upfront for repairs to damage they caused or asked victims of property damage to front the cost and maybe they'll get reimbursed. I refuse to pay upfront for repairs in the hope of being reimbursed. I am currently waiting for Davon's response regarding my suggestion of having a licensed contractor repair the damage to restore my property to its original state. This entire process has been time-consuming, and it seems The Shade Store is reluctant to take full responsibility for the situation and correct it properly and within an efficient timeframe. When choosing a window treatment provider, prioritize companies with a strong commitment to customer service. Look for one that stands behind its products and services, promptly rectifies mistakes at their own expense, and minimizes inconvenience to the customer. Unfortunately, The Shade Store fell short in these areas. Photos are only some of the concerns.

    I wasn't sure what kind of window coverings I wanted for our newly remodeled bathroom (we have Hunter Douglas blinds, wood blinds and shutters and drapes but had never bought shades). I am THRILLED with my new shades and I am thoroughly impressed with the customer service I received. Adam Medart my salesperson was awesome! Mo the meticulous installer was amazing. Good service seems to be on the endangered list these days but the Shade Store seems to take it very seriously. Shout out to Jim Sauter as well for the help!

    Recently purchased fabric shades for our remodeled home and worked with Cindy at the Costa Mesa store. What a pleasure! She was incredibly helpful in choosing the proper materials, scheduling everything, and responding quickly to each and every question. Highly recommend both Cindy and The Shade Store - worth every penny!

The shutters are premium composite plantation shutters with independently operable top and bottom panels, allowing us to open or close the upper and lower sections separately for excellent control of natural light, privacy, and airflow. The louvers feature internal lightweight steel reinforcement, which adds exceptional strength, stability, and long-term durability without adding bulk. They feel solid, substantial, and noticeably higher in quality than standard options. We previously compared products from Home Depot, and there is simply no comparison. Gina's shutters are superior in craftsmanship, materials, and overall finish. Even more impressive, her pricing was the most competitive among the three vendors we compared, and the total cost, including installation, came in approximately $3,000 less, while delivering a far higher-quality product. Gina is incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and patient. We changed our minds regarding our primary bedroom and decided to switch from blackout shades to shutters so everything would be consistent with the shutters already installed in the upstairs bedrooms.
