Signed a contract with them. Then had to go to the HOA for approval before any work could be done. Prior to HOA approving the application, John sent 4 kids over to deliver materials. There was no mention that they were going to begin working on the patio cover. I had to leave for an appointment only to find out that they began installation of the 2 posts in my planter, pouring cement in the planter and installing the 2 posts. This was all before anything was approved and not asking me if that was okay. When confronting John, he became rude, using foul language, etc. He later apologized and said it was because he was drinking. I cancelled the contract and found an honest contractor to complete the patio cover. I spent $2,600 to fix the problem created by John. The application was denied and the HOA came after me to rectify the situation. read more

From the initial quote/design to installation, and follow-up, this company is professional and legit. If they had a question, they would just knock on the door and walk us out to show us the issue. Mario and Juan were some of the most kind and understanding craftsmen we've had work on our home. They always greeted me with "Sir" and always had a smile on their face each day. It was as if they didn't want to leave until you were happy with their work. We had a small issue with a manufacturer's defect on our Alumawood and John noticed it right away. The crew removed the defective components and reinstalled new ones without question. They installed new lights we had purchased and did an amazing job - super clean and professional. John Haynes had contacting me about fixing my damaged patio light. His crew came by today and inspected all 8 lights noticing all had signs of water infiltration. They had replaced all lights and re-caulked where the flashing meets the patio cover as well as the screws attaching it. I am pleased to say I am happy they stood by their product and service. Owner Tony...If you ever read this I ask that you contact me (my phone number and email is on file). I decided to place a review after the fact here because of the less than desirable customer service after the fact. While the original crew was very nice and we really do like our patio cover, I find the follow up with our sales representative John very poor and ALL PROMISED calls back or contact to us to resolve an issue have NEVER been addressed. Recently, we noticed that one of the seams underneath on a corner started to shows sign of what may be rust or maybe efflorescence. A quick inspection up top revealed that the caulking started to disintegrate and water began pooling on one end, opposite the drain spout. I wrote to our rep John H. on Aug 23rd, 2021 and shared with him our situation. He initially replied via email on the same day and said "Yes, we can do that for you. I'll write up a service order and get someone out there in the next few days". (direct copy from email) After not hearing anything for a few days, I followed up on Aug 27, and again on Sep 3rd. No one has contacted me back. I then proceeded to call OPP directly and spoke with nice lady who took down my info on September 15th, 2021 and said someone would contact me back within the next few days. As of today, Oct 1, 2021...NO ONE has contacted us. I'm pretty patient, but John's disregard to my attempts and the no contact back from OPP directly makes me feel like an under-valued customer who spent $7K+ on their patio cover. Update (10/27/21): Approx. 1.5 weeks after my post (above) I received an update from John stating a crew can be at my house between 8am and 4pm that same day, but I was at work and couldn't leave on such short notice. We arranged for guys to come by the next day or two, in which they missed the first attempt, but did show up on the second attempt. They looked at the situation and recommended a second drain spout, but could not perform it that day. They said John would need to approve and also get back to me. Well, he did, albeit almost one week later and said if I could be home in the afternoon a local crew could install a second drain. They did indeed arrive later that same day and installed a second drain, no charge. However, no follow up since. In all honesty, I don't know what to think. I'm glad they did in-fact recognize an issue and attempt to correct, and it does look good. I just don't get the fact it took much more persistence and leg work on my behalf as the customer to establish lines of communication, and when I was lucky to get a response the window of availability to me was small. It seemed like "take it now....or wait another indeterminate of time" was the modus operandi. I found that to be very frustrating, much more so than it needed to be. read more

First he missed the first appointment and did not bother to call. when we reached him he claimed our appt was at a different time than the agr time. so we rescheduled to the next day. He did not listen to what we wanted and started to tell us what we should do. Listening to your customer should be large part of the business. After a while we decided he need not continue because it was nothing we wanted to do on our project. Will never do business with this company . We got quotes for months for a patio cover.. either prices were too high, quality seems lacking from samples they brought, they didn't spend any time with us, or we just didn't click/didn't feel right... We had a hard time finding a contractor to install a patio cover this summer. Some were ridiculously expensive. Some wouldn't do electrical, and some just never called back. John at Ocean Pacific Patios was very knowledgeable about what could and couldn't be done with my layout.
