It was a lot of Carter's and Cat & Jack stuff and mostly in fair to good condition. I did pick out a baby Gap sweater for $6, but when I went to pay, the credit card machine wasn't working. The woman who was working was very kind, but claimed that her machine didn't process cards with chips. The store does accept debit and credit cards, but my debit card with a chip seemed to pose a very puzzling problem. I considered going to the ATM next door, but hesitated bringing my baby into a vape shop. That just seemed weird. So I left the sweater behind.

I was very thrilled by the selection and price range. Everything was really reasonable. There was even some brand new items. I came out the two gently used purses, a new egg poaching pan (yay avocado toast) and a desk lamp. My bill was less than $30 bucks!!! Their website has a lot more details and we were directed by the saleswoman to see more of their products. It was worth taking a trip to the retail store though. She was able to give my friend fabric swatches for the custom curtains they make to match them to her crib bedding she has. We were informed that they can monogram and customize things on site and turn things around pretty quickly. Everything was priced pretty well. The custom crib bedding was especially priced well. My friend was bummed she didn't find out about this place sooner.

You can see through the back of the store into their manufacturing facility. So cool! I originally went into the store because I was given a moses basket for a gift and loved it so much I wanted to see what else they made. I ended up buying my daughter's crib bedding there. The store has a great, up and coming city location at 1657 N. Elston St. You can check them out at hoohobbers.com but the trip to the actual store is well worth it. So after lunch, we made a point to come back. The place is small, but clean and organized. There weren't that many customers while we were there, so it didn't feel cramped. I was quite impressed by the men's section. Nice selection of like new, high-end brands and priced well overall. The women's section was ok, but most of our finds were in in men's. Sadly, the Coca-Cola jacket was a size too small for my husband. But I found him a great shirt, while my son picked up a pair of Patagonia shorts and a vintage sweater. My kids bought me a Vans quilted jacket to help when walking in the Chicago winds. (It was perfect as I wore it almost every day!) The girl at the counter was very nice. We paid in cash and Venmo for the additional discount. We will definitely try to make our way back here, at our next visit to Chicago.

The shop is not large, but... they don't carry much merchandise. I thought perhaps it was a new store, but I learned it actually opened in 2021. I also thought perhaps they have events or something for which they use the space--and I think they do, but pretty occasionally; not a whole bunch of regular events. They seem to focus on sustainable clothing and whatnot, so perhaps that is why, as those brands may be hard to come by. Some of their stuff is fairly expensive, and while I occasionally might buy something a little more expensive for a special occasion, I'm much less likely to do so for everyday wear. I will certainly keep an eye on their Instagram, but I'm not sure I'll be stopping in too often.

Overall, the space is really crowded, but that just means more treasures to unearth. I did not have a lot of time to check out much of their clothing selections, but the few pieces I looked at seemed overpriced for resale. For example, a pair of LL Bean cargo pants was $14. Though, there are apparel deals on certain tag colors, with the best of these discounts being $1 for a certain color on the day I was there. I suspect if one took the time, there are good clothing deals to be found utilizing the discounts. Their housewares and organization-type items seemed to be priced excellently. I found two great kitchen storage containers for $1 each. I'm a sucker for statement necklaces, and it seemed their costume jewelry was fairly priced as well, with many of the neat necklaces I looked at being priced at $3.
