So my wife and I were looking last year for the perfect photographer since coming from New Jersey we had worked with one for several years and he did an amazing job with our Wedding, Engagement photo, infant photos and etc. In fact, we were just going to fly our old photographer into Chicago for our Baby's 1st Birthday Party because we trusted our photographer in NJ. If anyone knows me - I am extremely particular in who I work with and the type of product I want (only the best) since you are spending hundreds and literally thousands of dollars so you want to make sure the end product is what you pay for! Usually, it is customary for the Korean's 1st Bday to have great photos! These are memories that will last a lifetime and you want a great photographer to work with! So this is an investment we were worth spending some money on. Moving to Chicago I was bit nervous working with a new photographer since I am very particular and want someone that will capture the right moments! In fact it's very hard! We wanted someone who understood our needs and the design element ideas that would capture that perfect moment! Luckily after 7 calls with various different photographers around the Chicago land area we were glad we found Studio Soo Chicago Baby! He was the only a few who actually responded timely, flexible with scheduling and accommodating! Soo does an amazing job with trying to get shots that we are looking for - see below some of his fabulous work! We also went with their photo booth at the Birthday party since Soo was very accommodating and upgrading things we didn't even think we wanted! While the overall cost was a bit more than what we wanted to spend I look at these things as an investment! Chicago Baby Studio took my newborn pictures and they did a beautiful job. They were very accommodating with scheduling the time and not feeling too rushed during the appointment. Their studio is beautiful and had so many back drops and props that were modern and a lot of variety. My newborn was especially fussy during the shoot- she wouldn't sleep for a second, but they made me feel relaxed and not to worry. They also had a private space for my wife to breastfeed and feel comfortable which was especially nice for her! They did accommodate our request to take a few family group shots with my 2 year old toddler and wife and those turned out great as well! Finally, I received the edited photos and that process was very easy. I like that they give you the option of which photos you want edited and then which will go into the beautiful album! I needed someone who understood what I wanted and had the experience to capture it and I found them at Studio Soo. Beyond that, my fiance and I really had no idea what specific services we wanted and what we could get within our budget. The couple at Studio Soo greeted us warmly and helped us figure out what worked for us with a lot of patience. We wanted to get a some good pictures of our newborn and having experienced places like picture people, we were hoping for something more than just some basic pictures from a DSLR in front of a backdrop. We got a great recommendation for Soo from a friend who did a newborn shoot with them, and needless to say i couldn't be happier with our baby's photo shoot. first of all, you will like Soo before he takes a single photo, just by talking to him over the phone. he is very courteous and easy to work with. he was very understanding of our work schedules and definitely made the scheduling process a breeze. secondly, on the day of the shoot, he welcomed us to his studio and gave us a tour. showed us all the nice back drops he has created for newborn shoots, and they all look like a lot of care has been put in to designing them. and he has quite a handful of backdrops you can choose from. 3rd - ultimately the person who really decides how its going to go is your baby. but Soo was very patient and understanding towards the needs of our baby. 4th - just a couple of days after the shoot, the pictures were made available to us to select and they all looked really good. now i'm not in to photography, but i can tell a great looking picture when i see one. a friend who is more knowledgeable of the topic saw them and said who ever took these photos really knew what they were doing, specifically got the lighting to a tee! 5th - we took a long time to actually select the photos we want edited, and again he was very accomodating and just 2 days after we selected the photos, he got back to us with the edited photos. I had horrible experience with this owner. She's not willing to do anything except just take some photo shots and charge ridiculous amount. She collected $100 check deposit to set an appointment time. Then after the photoshoot, demanded to send the check over to her. I was so looking forward to receiving the album so I sent the remainder balance of $380 immediately, hoping to receive $480 worth product. I was beyond angry finding out the album quality. We spent all morning preping our daughter so she's fully prepared & will cooperate. We were in and out in 45 minutes with help of my mom and husband. This place has various settings & potential for great photoshoot but the owner/photographer charges ridiculous amount and not cooperative. You ll be more angry for waisting time and money. We were allowed to select 10 pictures only for the album. Can't explain how beyond angry my family were. Worst experience in my lifetime. read more

It was almost a year ago to take my son's 1st birthday party and birthday photos. They did a amazing job! It was an unforgettable moment and they took every moments of baby's unexpected movements. At the beginning my son could not focus on the camera, but he looked to be very happy to take the photo shoot around 10 minutes later. They made the environment very warm and happy. We could enjoy the time with my son. Also have various styles clothes for baby and kids. We brought our own clothes, but we didn't use ours. Theirs were better for photo. We were lucky enough to win a free engagement shoot with Soo. He has the most amazing studio but I really wanted an outdoor location as I love the Chicago architecture. From the wardrobe offered to the dressing room complete with a changing table to the beautiful studio with so many unique backgrounds to choose from, our experience far exceeded our expectations.
