Uptown

Hidden on a side street in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood, Xquisx Photography houses the studio of a…read moresuper-talented photographer. Simply put, Eric is a genius behind a camera. With Playboy in his background, Eric is not only a well-trained, consummate professional, he's got an aptitude for erotica and he's not afraid to use it. I wanted professional, sexy photos for my husband, but I don't photograph well. A friend recommended Eric of Xquisx and, after seeing photos he took of her, I saw why. They were amazing! I've known and liked Eric for years, and I knew he was a professional photographer. What I didn't know was that my time with him would dramatically and positively change my opinion of him, myself, erotica and female beauty forever. My visit to Eric's studio started out uneventful. I hit the buzzer, walked up the steps, crossed the porch and knocked on the door of Xquisx carrying a bag of sexy costumes, makeup, jewelry and shoes. Eric's wife greeted me at the door (she's a lovely, talented artist, as well). Eric soon joined his wife in greeting me. He offered me water, which I gratefully accepted. I was nervous. I felt fat. I told Eric I didn't want my rolls/wrinkles/blemishes to show. He laughed, and told me to have a little faith. Then he led me downstairs. The studio is comfortable and well appointed. A separate bathroom nearby provides a private place for changing and preparing for the shoots. Jazzy, bluesy music added a level of comfort and fun. I dressed in my most conservative outfit to start. Eric asked me to pose on his "stage" while he tested the light levels and set up his background. His camera started flashing and, before long, I was playing the part of "model." Many shots, costume changes and poses later, I was flushed, tired and optimistic. Eric showed me some of the shots on his PC display. I couldn't believe it! He captured me in ways I didn't know were possible. Later, when he sent me the final product, I was astonished! Is that me?? Eric didn't try to cover my imperfections; he highlighted and presented them in artistically interesting and beautiful ways. I LOVED my pictures and immediately started loving my "imperfections!" Eric of Xquisx did not try to change me into a movie star or model, nor did he airbrush me into society's opinion of perfection (that's for amateurs). No, what Eric did was show me a different way of seeing my beauty through the eyes of a master lensman who knows erotica, art, photography and the true meaning of female beauty. My husband was thrilled with the results. And I'm thrilled with me. NOTE: Eric also took photos of my husband, and made him seem like a gorgeous male model ... I highly recommend Xquisx, especially if you wish to see yourself through the eyes of a talented, pro-woman, erotic photo artist. This could really change your life.

Eric's work is a reflection of how he lives his life. He never seems to be in a rush. As a result, when you arrive at his home, it seems like he gives you all the time in the world to relax before you change into something much more revealing. When my girlfriend and I arrived, he offered us a beverage and just hung out while we chatted. It was a normal conversation, no pressure to decide on what we were going to wear or not wear for the photo shoot. When we finally got onto the subject, it was completely natural and actually very exciting. Any nervousness we felt before we arrived had disappeared. As we began the shoot, a little nervousness was back. But that quickly melted away as his personality was the same behind the camera as when we arrived. After that, it was simply fun. And we ended up with some very sexy, (and a few steamy) photos. I highly recommend Xquisx to men and women. In this photo shoot, I was mostly a prop for my gf. But only because that is what we chose to do. I would definitely use Xquisx for professional photos as well. Eric is that good.

If anyone knows me - I am extremely particular in who I work with and the type of product I want (only the best) since you are spending hundreds and literally thousands of dollars so you want to make sure the end product is what you pay for! Usually, it is customary for the Korean's 1st Bday to have great photos! These are memories that will last a lifetime and you want a great photographer to work with! So this is an investment we were worth spending some money on. Moving to Chicago I was bit nervous working with a new photographer since I am very particular and want someone that will capture the right moments! In fact it's very hard! We wanted someone who understood our needs and the design element ideas that would capture that perfect moment! Luckily after 7 calls with various different photographers around the Chicago land area we were glad we found Studio Soo Chicago Baby! He was the only a few who actually responded timely, flexible with scheduling and accommodating! Soo does an amazing job with trying to get shots that we are looking for - see below some of his fabulous work! We also went with their photo booth at the Birthday party since Soo was very accommodating and upgrading things we didn't even think we wanted! While the overall cost was a bit more than what we wanted to spend I look at these things as an investment! Overall, if you are looking for great baby photographer -Chicago Baby is the best in Chicago! If you are looking at photographers who can create and take amazing shots- Chicago baby is the best around here! Moving forward this is the only studio that I would do business with since I trust not only their product, but I know Soo is flexible, transparent with pricing and easy to work with!! I absolutely recommend this studio - See the photos and the type of professional quality you get!

Through the planning and implementation of the proposal I could tell Kenny had a lot of experience and helped consider different logistics such as people in the background and the wind conditions. He made us feel very comfortable and was able to get a lot of really amazing candid shots! He gave clear instructions for poses and had such a friendly vibe the entire time. There were so many beautiful photos! He gave us a batch of 10 photos the same night so that we could share the news with our loved ones! Love the quick turnaround. The full set of photos came within a week! This was one of the most important moments of my life and I'm glad Kenny was there to document it. I also really enjoyed the blog post that he made documenting the photoshoot. I also appreciated that he made an Instagram post which made it easy for us to share the news on Instagram too. Take a look at his photos and you can see for yourself! I highly recommend him for any proposals, engagements, and weddings in the Chicago area!

A Little Photo Studio - Our studio

A Little Photo Studio

Lakeview

A few weeks ago, my favorite local photography studio, A Little Photo Studio, posted on their…read moreFacebook page that they were looking for a few types of photography subjects to come sit in test sessions with their new photographer, Lauren. My son didn't fit any of the descriptions, but on a whim, I emailed asking if Lauren would like to gain some experience with a child with special needs. Lauren responded with a resounding, "Yes!" and started the process of scheduling a time for us to come in to shoot. As you may know, getting great photos of children is a challenge in and of itself, and getting photos of children with special needs can be even more challenging. Coming into a foreign space, being exposed to backdrops, lighting, technical equipment, and having to interact with strangers can certainly be stress inducing for littles. Add to that the challenges of children who may not respond to their names, who sometimes have fleeting eye contact, who often do not like to sit still, and who won't always smile for the camera (or even look at it) on cue can make the process of getting good photos even more daunting. This is why I can't recommend A Little Photography Studio enough. From the very beginning, Lauren was warm, super reassuring, and eager to get practice with our super special kiddo. As a matter of practice, the photographers send out a little questionnaire beforehand to gather some information about the kid(s), and right on the form it asks "Are there any special needs we should consider to make sure we have enough time and the right tools to make this a fun and successful shoot?", followed by "If yes to above, please provide some details. (We have worked with a full spectrum of special needs and welcome everyone," and "We are a handicap accessible space, but our shoot space is downstairs, do you need us to make your shoot handicap accessible?" How cool is that? On the day of the photo shoot, I was delighted to walk up to their gorgeous space and see a sign that reads something to the effect of "We welcome people of all abilities" right on their front door. And I found this to be very true. It took my son a little while to get comfortable in the novel space, and during this time, a few different employees (separate from the two who were working directly with us) warmly said hello to him, and one even joined in when he started making some interesting noise with their railings. Lauren and her helper for the day (whose name I've already embarrassingly forgotten) were so patient with my son and pulled out all the stops to make him feel comfortable and to get him smiling. They even played One Direction music for him, which he can't resist! We found that my son was most comfortable when I was nearby, and they managed to shoot around me (and even got a few really sweet ones with me in them). As for the results, simply put, the photos are beautiful. It was so hard to choose from all of the great shots Lauren got. Thankfully, Lauren was super helpful during the selection process having printed out physical copies of the proofs so we could arrange them in different ways, sort them, and compare them side by side. I really appreciated that she offered her opinion as well (versus giving a blanket, "It's up to you..." which is a nightmare for people with analysis paralysis like myself). Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience with the clinic because I know special needs parents are always looking for recommendations for various service providers in the city. A Little Photo Studio really goes above and beyond to make their studio inclusive, and we had a great experience overall, not to mention some beautiful photos to cherish forever.
