(They do all their buying in Europe.) it's definitely higher end, though I have also found some really great things on their sale rack. This is retail at its finest due to the personal attention. The owners are so sweet and very honest. (Plus, they have great taste.) They'll style you and happily bring you things if you'd like. I can always count on them - if something doesn't look good they'll let me know. I've also bought things off of their Instagram and they happily drop it off at my home in one of their gorgeous bags. That's awesome. I always leave with great styles & feeling cheerful. I have several friends who feel the same. .

It's a beautiful warm and humid day in Chicago and the walk was good. The place is very quaint and small but well lit for shopping. It's a woman's boutique specializing in European clothing. The major designer is Solar and I have not heard of it, but designs are suited for a dressier woman. Thankfully that counts me in as I work in an office where jeans are not allowed and it's conservative so the weekends I can go casual. Back to the store the sizes are European and the lady at the counter (I am assuming is the owner) was very kind to tell me that 34 is usually x-small, 36 is small and 38 is medium. I'm usually a medium but some of her clothing allow for a 34 when I tried on a pair of white slacks. It had a great fit, but buying white is difficult because the material may be more revealing than you might like. Her clothes has many price points as she indicated and sales from the previous season is 20% off. Her summer selection drove me to walk in full of blight yellows, pink, and orange. Do stop in if you're in the neighborhood and support local small businesses!

This Uncharted is similar to the one in Arlington Heights, which looked somewhat newer. It also had many different departments, each selling trendy merchandise. There seemed to be a lot of cute things that I could browse had I had more time to shop. I ended up grabbing several boxes of moisturizer and headed to checkout. The cashier was very friendly; she called some manager trying to check if I could combine two deals at the same time. I had a 10% off the entire purchase for the first time for rewards member coupon, and a monthly $5 coupon. As she apparently did not get a clear answer, she scanned both barcodes to let the system decide. It worked and saved me over $15. That's perfect customer service! I will be back to shop more for sure.

It's bright and spacious. There's something for everyone, from kids, women's, men's, books, cards, home goods, bath, accessories, and more! Many different brands that's appealing to everyone. The store is laid out in sections and well organized. There is so much to look at. It's a pre-teen and teen haven, lots of cute things. For those who know, it's a Lad and Lassie (a former mom and pop shop in Wilmette) on steroids plus goods for other age groups. It's the perfect place for a gift.

Love Shack Fancy - Loved the Chicago bracelets among other things

They gift wrapped my item, gave me a discount as a first time customer and even listened as this old man carried on about how wonderful his granddaughter ( for whom he was buying the present) was! I've been to them in LA, Greenwich, NYC, Charleston, Palm Beach and elsewhere...but no chicago. Back in March we were shopping our way thru LA when I asked the sales associate the very same question and she said "well you're in luck because I hear one is opening up in Wilmette this year?" I figured she must be confused since there was nowhere in Wilmette that made sense to put a Love Shack Fancy, but she was correct. About a month later I heard that they would be turning Wilmette's Plaza de Lago into a shoppers paradise, which included Love Shack Fancy! There's so many amazing stores going into Plaza de Lago, but all my 14 year out cares about is Love Shack Fancy and she's been eagerly awaiting opening day. When we heard September 19th was the big day she suggested we camp out the night before. Um, no. I did offer to take her to their opening during her school at school, but then we scored an invite to their VIP grand opening the evening before...I told her to invite a few friends and let's shop! I think the girls spent more time making tiktoks and taking pics than shopping, but my wallet was OK with that. However, we did spend a lot of time admiring all the frilly adorable clothes...and purchased a few things. i liked that they had a few Chicago items for sale such as bracelets and a sweatshirt to make it special/different from over LSF stores. All the sales associates there couldn't be more friendly whether they were visiting from other stores (we saw a few that helped us in Greenwich during our last visit!) or will be working there full-time (shout out to Carly who was very friendly to my daughter and her friends). Everyone in the store, whether they worked there or visiting, was dressed to impress in LSF and while i usually find it to be a younger brand definitely found myself admiring some things for myself. I have a feeling we'll be back a lot, although i think my 14 year old is going to need a job with this just 15 minutes from our house!

We went to make an exchange when we walked in the store only had 1 other person and 4 people working there. We stood around for about 10 minutes waiting for assistance while the staff just walked around the store. They obviously saw us but decided to make us wait. We asked about the exchange and the looked around for a little bit picking out a new sweater. Once we had decided what we were going to exchange we stood by the register waiting about 20 minutes for help, there was one person checking out a customer and the three other employees were just standing and talking. Once we finally got help we were told the manager would have to assist us and were directed to another register. The manager took his sweet time and we waited another 10 minutes while he was talking to another staff member. We were standing about 30 feet in front of his direct line of sight so he clearly saw us waiting. He did apologize for the wait but it did not seem sincere at all. After he rung in our exchange, we owed about 4 cents. He said he would cover that for us since we had to wait.......gee thanks! I would rather have paid the 4 cents than wait 30 minutes to make my exchange! It was more insulting than helpful, 30 minuets of my time is worth much more than 4 cents. The store in the loop is 10x better, the customer service there is great. I will never make the mistake of coming here again. And the loop store apparently gets there stuff in several months before this store. The item we exchanged was purchased from the loop store about 2 months prior, and this store told us they had just got these items in.

They had to order her a couple and she paid for them. That was in November. It is now February. These people refuse to answer the phone. They only communicate by text. She is 84! We finally got a hold of someone and they refuse to give her a refund because they gave her "a birthday discount". They have now been holding onto her money since November and told her they have no idea when the bras will be in. All we want is a refund and they refused to do so. Absolutely disgusting customer service and a horrible way to treat an elderly woman. Shame on them! If I could give them zero stars, I would. Very disappointing

Posting anonymously out of respect for my daughter, but I feel strongly that this needs to be said…read more We visited Chantilly Lace in Wilmette today, and I was completely stunned by the behavior of the owner. When we asked for help, she dismissed us without a second glance--as if we didn't belong. If it hadn't been for a remarkable salesperson named Bella, we would've walked out on the spot. Bella was calm, respectful, and incredibly kind to my daughter. She treated her with dignity and care during a difficult and deeply personal fitting process. It's important to note: very few places still offer this level of specialized help. Bella did it with grace--and was then openly mocked by the owner in front of us. That a younger business owner would belittle a more experienced and clearly valued staff member, especially in front of customers, is not just unprofessional--it borders on workplace harassment. When I got home, I looked up reviews- multiple sites. The pattern is undeniable: customers repeatedly praise the staff--while calling out the owner's outrageous behavior. And disturbingly, she often responds to reviews by insulting the customers themselves. One person described how a disabled individual was ridiculed. Sadly, this has become more common. A boutique in Northbrook called Such a Deal became notorious for shaming young girls who didn't match the owner's preferred body type. That store eventually closed. Max's in Highland Park also developed a reputation for demeaning its customers. While it's still open, the backlash permanently altered its client base--and its standing in the community. To Bella: thank you. You were the only reason we stayed. You treated my daughter like she mattered. You deserve better.
