We ordered a large scallops and a small clams. Both were very tasty and on the expensive side in comparison to some of the other places around.

This review is long overdue as we stopped here last year on our summer vacation. It was our first stop and set the tone perfectly for our trip! The staff was friendly and the vibes were perfect. They don't accept cards, so make sure you have cash! You get a ton of food, so don't be afraid to share. We split a lobster roll (got extra bread) and it was more than filling. It's been almost 8 months since we were here and I am still thinking about the food. Might have to book a flight back soon!!

Easy ordering, intercom worked great for knowing when food was ready. Cash only. The portion was huge! Great spot.

This was the first place my group stopped on the way to our Cape vacation and was NOT disappointed with my first lobster roll of the trip! The lobster is PILED on. You definitely get your money's worth! I literally had to eat some with a fork to clear some to be able to pick up the bun....I think that is a good problem to have! The roll also comes with a side of fries and they were good! My friend ordered the onion rings and they were better so I totally would sub those if I ever come here again. They also have plenty of other options for seafood as well non-seafood options for your lame friends who don't like fish HAHA This place only has outdoor seating, is a walk up window to order and porta potty bathrooms so be conscious of that when you visit! But plenty of parking and an amazing view! I highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area!

I had to scratch my fried clam itch and decided to check out the seafood shanty. After reading reviews, I knew I needed some cash because seafood it pricey, but I couldn't find my bank nearby so I had to pay the extra $3 for their onsite atm and $3 at my bank. We got the lobster roll, a large fried clam, and a fried scallop roll. Let's start with the good. The lobster roll is massive. There was so much lobster, you had to start with a fork before you can approach it as a sandwich. The French fries were also solid. The fried scallop roll was good, but the batter on the scallops weren't very interesting. The fried whole clams were fine, but the bellies were tiny. I love the big belly clams, they are both look and taste way better (as long as they are fresh). Overall, the lobster roll and fried scallops are items I'd reorder, but the fried clams were disappointing. It is for sure a shanty, with portapotties for restrooms. When you drive over, the turn can be quick so take it slow before you turn in. The person taking my order was nice but the person serving the food didn't seem to be in a friendly mood and distracted me where I forgot to ask for extra tartar sauce (a place like this should always prompt you because you can never have enough tartar sauce).

OH MY GOODNESS. BEST lobster roll I have ever had. BY FAR. It was soooo much lobster meat for the price-- pro tip: order an extra roll on the side to split up the meat if you're sharing... it was still more than enough (and there were three of us). So fresh, so flavorful, perfect balance of sauce and not dry at all. The chicken fingers were also crispy and delicious-- I can just never pass up a tendie. The fish and chips was also super crispy, perfectly salty, and juicy on the inside. More than enough food for the three of us to share everything. The fries were just okay in my opinion and I felt a little wasteful just because there were so many. Just such a cute little house on the side of the highway. Great for watching cars and watching the sailboats float on their merry way. They have a large parking lot and area outside with picnic tables and umbrellas to sit at. All the workers were also very friendly. I want this lobster roll every day!

Our first stop in the cape? The Seafood Shanty! I don't know if I'll ever get over how scenic/ beautiful this place is. Stopped in on a Tuesday and there was no line, plenty of parking, and lots of open tables to sit and enjoy your food. The menu is simple but offers a wide variety of fresh seafood. We went with the famous lobster salad roll (cold lobster, lightly tossed in mayo) and the fried scallops. Both were flavorful and the two plates alone fed three people plenty. $74 (CASH only) for both the plates and a coke. Service was quick and friendly.

Excellent food and what a great way to start your cape cod vacation. Service is pretty quick. You just order and grab a table and they'll call your number. A lot of seating area. A good amount of parking also. We got the clam chowder and it was delicious. It's not the creamy typical clam chowder people are used to eating. It is more soup than a chowder. It was very good. The lobster roll is huge. I suggest asking for an extra roll and splitting the lobster onto two rolls. The scallops were ok but lacking a little bit of seasoning is the only thing.

As someone with a shellfish allergy, traveling in the Cape and finding good spots to eat with a large group was definitely tricky! This was a must-stop in our group, and I was happy to see there were a few options available for folks in my situation. My group raved about the various seafood options they ate, including the lobster roll, fish and chips, and fried shrimp. They also said the onion rings were great. I would have loved to eat a burger and fries, but the fries are cooked in the same fryer as the fried shrimp, etc., and the cross-contamination risk on a grill at a place like this is too high. I ended up going with the chicken salad on a roll, and it was good! It could have used a little seasoning and a crunch, such as some added fruit or celery. I especially liked that the chicken salad was on a roll, as it made me feel included with all my friends who enjoyed a copious amount of lobster rolls during our trip. The outdoor seating was super cute and plentiful, including options in the shade. They are cash only, but have an ATM available! There are outdoor port-o-potties for use. I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the mood for a quick, easy lunch with lots of options -- especially if you love all things fried!!!!

The seafood shanty was such a yummy pit stop on our way to Cape Cod! We ordered and waited less than 10 minutes for some delicious seafood. We enjoyed the fish and chips, onion rings, fried shrimp, and lobster rolls. The fried shrimp was incredible! The lobster was plentiful in the roll and very enjoyable. They took our friend's shellfish allergy very seriously and she enjoyed the chicken salad roll. Need to know: cash only and the picnic tables in the back provide great shade of it's a hot day. Definitely worth the trip!

Homemade Clam Chowder

Took advantage of the hot day and rode the bike out towards the Cape. Stopped in at The Seafood Shanty to give them a try. Wanted Clam Cakes but unfortunately they don't serve them. Ended up going with their Fish Sandwich (served with Fries) and a Bowl of their Homemade Clam Chowder. Not only was everything very good and fresh tasting, but the food came out rather fast for made to order service. The cashier and window workers were smiling and friendly (and she even made sure to explain the Chowder wasn't a creamy style to anyone who ordered it to prevent any confusion). They had plenty of seating available both in the sun and in the shade as well if you wanted to stay and eat there. **Cash Only here but they do have an ATM onsite**

Lobster Rolls!!! I've had a lot of lobster rolls in the last 30 years abut this was the best one in memory. The lobster meat, and it was ALL lobster meat, was piled at least an inch higher than the roll. You needed a fork to make your way through it. There was a bit of mayo to bind, and a piece of lettuce and a proper lobster roll, a ROLL, not a hot dog bun. It was buttered and toasted on the outside. It was served with a hugh amount of french fries, and all for $30. It's open for the season Friday April 4th. It's off the Bourne Bridge and a perfect stop as you're leaving the Cape for one last, perfect taste of the sea. There is no indoor seating, and they don't take credit cards though an ATM is available. Tip: Relax at a nice picnic table and enjoy your lobster roll and a chowder and forget your problems for at least short period of time. Thanks

Outside picnic tables with the Cape Cod canal in the view beyond. Scallop roll and clam strip roll.
Dennie T.

This is a great spot to stop in for a quick but enjoyable bite! Cash only. Reasonably priced for the quality of food you get. Plenty of outside picnic tables, this is a seafood stand with no indoor seating....the best way to enjoy your meal overlooking the Cape Cod canal.

Lobster roll was great! It's very big, ask for a second bun! Wish they had more grilled seafood options!

The woman who works the front basically the face of the business is fantastic. They always greet me with a smile and what I'm ordering is very good. I laugh but she's not wrong. When I got home and opened up the bags there was no ketchup or tartar sauce. Most people have ketchup in the fridge so not a big deal but no tartar sauce? C'mon!!! Their usual crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside French fries have been replaced with boring "run of the mill" fries. The clam belly roll was in fact all clam strips. Not a single belly to be found. The roll was at least buttered and toasted but was a little stale. There were a few "bottom of the bag" crumbles of lettuce sprinkled in the bottom of the bun. Overall, a very sad sandwich. My wife's salmon burger was fine. Her bun was also stale.

Year after year, this location of Seafood Sam's has been a reliably excellent pit stop on our way…read moreon or off the Cape. The staff has always been nice, the fryers are always hot, seafood fresh and delicious, and all at a good value. Don't sleep on the Southern Fried Chicken Dinner, super tender juicy meat with a very crispy thin crunchy exterior, with a great buttermilk biscuit. My favorite fried chicken of the summer! Steamers and mussels are always fresh, delicious, and a generous portion. Fish and chips or Seafood Platter are top quality and never disappoint. The lobster bisque was disappointing and quite bland, especially given the hype. We also ordered a cup of clam chowder and it barely had any clams in it and was also very bland. I ordered a lobster roll and a separate order of onion rings as well. The lobster roll was just okay , the lobster itself was cooked well, but there wasn't a lot of meat for the price, so it didn't feel like a great value. The onion rings were fine but nothing special. The setup is more of a quick-service style: you order at the counter, get a buzzer, sit down, and then go pick up your food when it's ready. It's convenient enough if you're looking for something fast and casual, but between the bland bisque and chowder and the average lobster roll, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit again. I probably wouldn't stop here next time.

Delicious offerings, stellar service, tucked in next to the fishing boats and just a short drive…read moreover the Sagamore bridge. We sat outside under a full moon with beautiful string lights and the gentle sound of the water and boats tucked into the docks on our last evening on the cape. Open all year with an interesting history behind the property. A must visit. I loved that they were so helpful with GF alterations and menu items marked. It is a shared fryer. I enjoyed the Jonah Stuffed Haddock * without the bread crumbs. The person I dined with really enjoyed the Lobster Mac and cheese and same meal without alterations. Their gluten-free bun was a fluffy and rice flour based (for all of you with nut allergies to almond flour) the fries are not gluten free (we got plates to split to try more) The salmon carpaccio was a great appetizer and we also got the Sword fish dish. The house clam chowder is a MUST get and next time I'm definitely going to order the lobster Mac and cheese. The view was super nice. The brewery is right on the beach, so you have stunning oceanfront views from basically every seat. There's a bunch of outdoor seating (which is kind of shaded, but was still sooo hot in July), a really cool tap room upstairs, and one of the best brewery merch stores I've seen on the ground floor. We visited on 4th of July weekend, so the minimal parking next the brewery was totally full. Luckily, there's an overflow lot with a shuttle van about 5 minutes down the road. It was pretty tricky to find however, so be sure to ask the staff in the on-site parking lot for specific directions if you need to get there. They serve all the same great beer you expect from Tree House, plus they have a nice little cocktail bar outside, so there's something for everyone. I really liked the Cape Hound and the Rum Punch. They also have great pizzas and lobster rolls, which are a bit pricey but worth the splurge in my opinion. You can also pick up cans to go here, and because Tree House doesn't distribute otherwise, that's a huge win for any locals in the area. Great spot to visit on your trip to Cape Cod. We'll be back!
