Those who follow my post know I never give a bad review. Well that changes tonight. In Baton Rouge…read morefor football clinic and I had been recommended to come here. Great atmosphere but quickly turned. My menu was dirty and in fact half of it was illegible I mean bad. When waiter, Jon, finally came he agreed an out the menu and said he'd be right back with new one and trash the other which I said yep that shouldn't have gotten past the hostess. He never came back with another menu so I used my grandsons to figure out what I wanted. We ordered after waiting a good while for him to come back more than 15 minutes. And the place was not busy. I've waited tables, managed and trained waitstaff so I'm pretty aware of what is just neglect. This was. He was a bit older than other waitstaff and I would have figured more seasoned. So count this as 2 strikes. Food finally delivered by someone else which is fine and glad it go there because we were hungry. Pretty unremarkable although it looked good. I won't go into what we had but it was main dishes. And he recommended as well. Next my grandson was out of water and we kept looking for Jon so we could get more water. Strike 3. He never came by. Not even to see if our food was good or we needed anything. I did want to order a dozen order Traditional Oysters after going and getting another menu myself. When I did there were a stack of menus and no sh t the dirty unreadable menu I had was on top of all of them. So much for throwing it away. I had finished my meal at this point and I asked another waiter if he could get us some water and he said sure and disappeared. I water station was right behind our booth. He never returned. Frustrated I got up to go to the bar to get some water and a female waitress was right there and I asked her if she might get us some water. She immediately said no problem and got it right there. Thank you to her. Finally Jon came by and said hey another waiter said we needed water but saw we already had it. I told him my experience in restaurants and have eaten in many high end fine quality establishments and this was by far the worst experience I'd ever had and went Over in detail everything above. I would had asked for a manager but I wanted Jon to understand his shortcomings and disappointment in the experience we had. So no, I wouldn't say I'd never go back but it would be after I had tried lots of other places. Disappointed doesn't quite cover it and I sure wish I'd of been able to get the oysters as a fellow dinner said they were great.

They have a window outside where they sell snow balls, we tried a peach flavor with "cream" which is really sweetened condensed milk. It was really good, but extremely sweet. It could have used about half of the syrup that was put on it. Next time! I'm sure we will be enjoying these as the weather warms up. When you walk inside they have a little freezer section with frozen seafood, a seating area so you can sit down and enjoy any hot food you purchase, and a case of raw fish. We decided to order the fried shrimp plate, and it was delicious. Best fried shrimp I've had. It came with hush puppies(not a fan), fries(perfect), garlic toast and I had the swamp sauce which is delicious. We also tried their boudin balls, we were not a fan of their version. They also sell hot boiled crawfish and shrimp which seems to be really popular. It's a little country store which seems to be run by family members, while we sat outside we could hear them hollering inside the building. The lady who took my order wasn't too friendly but she made some mean shrimp, the girl who made the snowballs was very nice and helpful as well. All in all we will be back! I can't wait to try the Zachary location as well.

5 Stars -- Incredible food, generous portions, and the BEST desserts!…read more We came in with a big group -- kids, grandkids, the whole family -- and we were blown away by how good the food was across the board. We started with the fried boudin balls and crispy house-smoked bacon. Both were delicious and packed with flavor. We also shared a bowl of red beans & rice, and even my one-year-old grandson devoured it (and wore a good portion of it on his face!). The brunch board was a huge hit -- such a fun assortment of waffles, pancakes, pastries, fruit, sausage, bacon, and more. Truly something for everyone, and perfect for sharing. For mains: * I had the Trout Almondine with cheese grits -- and those grits were honestly the BEST I've ever had. Creamy, cheesy, and perfect. * My daughter ordered the ribeye and loved it. * My husband had a burger and cleaned his plate. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. We weren't disappointed in a single item. And then... the desserts. Oh my goodness. We tried the cheesecake, pecan pie, and bread pudding. The cheesecake was the best I've ever had, and my daughter agreed. The pecan pie tasted like something straight out of a grandmother's kitchen -- my husband said it was the best he's ever had. The bread pudding was rich, warm, and equally delicious. The staff was friendly and patient with the kids, which made the evening stress-free and fun. Bottom line: we loved everything -- from appetizers to dessert -- and we will absolutely be back!

We got here around 8ish in the evening and it was raining so not many people here. So we propped up at the bar and ordered. I was in a martini mood so Gin martinis were my calling; they made them the way I like: slightly dirty w/ extra olives. I can't remember how many of those I ordered but they went down smooth. I didn't want to order anything heavy so I decided on the Brussels Sprouts and a cup of the Chicken/Andouille Gumbo. The Brussels were crispy and had a nice soy glaze to cap it off. They garnished it with some peeled scallions which gives a nice finish. I'm a sucker for Brussels Sprouts; if they're on the menu, I'm very likely gonna order them. The gumbo was pretty good, had a tomato richness to it. I forgot what my friend ordered; probably cause I had too many martinis. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from Hammond but it's worth it. Check it out when you're in the area!

It has been a long time since we have had dinner here since the food was not good the last two times we had visited. We used to go all the time but the food just wasn't that good. We were greeted with a warm welcome and our waitress was wonderful. They were know for their thin catfish unfortunately they have lost their mojo. The fish tasted of just batter. Our waitress handled our party of 14 like a pro. Most of the food came out in a timely manner they were not busy. Our fish came out but the rest of the seafood platter was absent. When it did come out it was cool. Missing hush puppies which we had to ask for. The seafood platter came with two pieces of fish 6 shrimp 4 oysters , large stuff crab , fries and coleslaw. The fish was mushy, the shrimp and oysters were ok the stuff crab was very large but with lots of bread crumbs and green onions. Not our favorite. The place is beautiful. The owners have really worked hard and the decor is very nice. The focus is not on the food like the family that had opened the place. If you are on I55 stop in you will enjoy the beauty of the drive and their dock is great.

I hear a lot of bad things about this place but always remember that one good meal and experience…read morethat I had years and years ago. When I found myself in the area again this week, I decided to give it a shot and relive that experience. What a change. Guess they were right. I remember a delicious crawfish étouffée that I had when I went the first time which is no longer on the menu. It's mostly just fried food and hamburgers. I ordered the overstuffed shrimp Poboy that the woman said was the most popular item on the menu. It was overstuffed all right, but the shrimp were hard as rubber and tasted like they had been cooked in week old oil. It was an hour before closing so maybe that was it but that is not an excuse. I'll still think about that delicious crawfish étouffée that I had years and years ago, and try my hardest to forget this terrible meal. The Poboy itself was around $15 and the fries were two dollars extra. To their credit, they were crinkly fries, which are always my favorite and they were delicious. I wish I would've never went back and kept my memories, but I did. Perhaps I'll give it another shot one day. I hear the gumbo is good, which was the special of the day, but it was too hot for that all the day I went. Lots of interesting things inside, it looks like a roadside attraction almost. I can't understand why there's not more restaurants in this area as they are several plantations that people most likely go to visit and would likely decide to have lunch somewhere. Almost anything would blow this one out the water. I still dig the ambience. The alligator dressed in a chef suit, the interesting painting on the bathroom wall, the old country/Cajun feel but aside from that, what happened, B & C Seafood?
