First off, he showed up when he said he would, and did a great job of confirming our appointment ahead of time, and what to expect. Jeff arrived and did an assessment of our panels, 15 in total he could have repaired, and advised me that only 2 of them really needed any serious repairs and showed me how to lubricate the others that had been making noise. That level of honesty is what I'm looking for in a contractor, and I was really impressed. He quoted me a very fair price and went right to work to make things right again. My only regret was not reaching out sooner to have these panels fixed, rollers replace, track repaired, and made right again. He asked a few specific questions about the door to see if it was possible to do the install. Once it was determined it could be done, he sent me a link to the glass insert manufacturer he uses to make my choice. I contacted Chuck a couple of days later with my choice. He texted me the price of the door and his installation fee. He was able to set up an appointment the next morning for the install. He arrived on time, was polite and got right to work. Unprofessional - After four weeks of doing nothing, when pressed for a start and completion date and questioned on why he switched the granite countertop and added $195 to install a vanity he told me to go work with someone else. - Continually changed estimates - cabinets and countertop costs changed twice. Questioned if I knew the difference between an estimate and a proposal. According to him estimates are every changing. - In his own words he's an 'artist', the implication being I should not question his choice of kitchen cabinets and granite. - Asked me for full price in cash for cabinets and granite upfront - apparently wants to rebuild his credit. - I trusted him with a house key four weeks ago and he neither returned nor responded to requests for it's return. 2. Unreliable - Working on flipping a property in Tampa and my project is a low priority as in his words he's not making any money on it - charged $600 to assemble 12 cabinets. At 10-20 minutes each that's a very good payout for 2 hours work. Especially galling considering the vendor I recommended would have delivered the cabinets assembled at a lower cost. - Last weekend he told me he had to go work with some other client rather than start work on my project. The weekend prior he had to go ride his car at Daytona. - Despite all his changes to prices and materials and vendors, I was agreeable to move forward but he had to commit to a date to get the job done and he proved that he was incapable of getting the work done in a timely manner. 3. Disorganized - Spent days doing nothing rather than working on my project as he wanted to source kitchen cabinets before starting even though there is a lot to be done to install drywall and rebuild a bathroom. - Wasted weeks trying to source kitchen cabinets and finally selected a vendor who in his own words is disorganized, unprofessional and unreliable. - Refused to consider an alternative vendor even after his vendor delivered the wrong sized cabinets to his flip property. - Spends hours pontificating on the phone and complaining about his cabinet vendor - unfocused. - At one point he lost his own estimate - I had to provide him with the information.
