We came here for dinner last evening in hopes of getting a good meal in a cozy, warm atmosphere…read more I'm happy to report that The Scarsdale Tavern delivered on both! The dining area in the back is a bit on the smaller side, and tables are close to one another. However, it worked for this tavern in that it created a more intimate environment. The decor is what I think of as quintessentially British. My husband ordered the beef Sunday roast, while I ordered the porchetta Sunday roast. It was a lot of food, but it was exactly what we needed as our first meal after a long flight from the States. I found my porchetta to be slightly dry and it could have used just a little bit more of that brown gravy. Otherwise, everything was delicious. i loved the roasted potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, while my husband's favorite was the sweet and spicy butternut squash. Our kids got the kids' portion of fish and chips, and they made a pretty good dent. I would highly recommend checking this place out!

Asked for a beer list and well ya know the look . They were out of my first two choices there too . pointed to the brew tshirt the waitress was wearing - sorry we r outa that one too...it was a theme. I'm sure on the right weather day with the right server and the beers and food spot on this is a solid local - the time we visited we had none of that sadly . No big deal but a bit of a letdown disappointment ...

Ive never had an experience where someone does something like that yet nobody apologized or made sure anybody was ok. They continued about brunch like nothing happened. I was sat immediately and chatted with a few of the waitresses who worked there to see what they liked and what was popular. I ended up going for the Mac Daddy I believe it was called. I also opted for the lamb fries and thank god I did!!! I have to say those were possibly the best fries I've ever had in my life. They are covered in a jalapeño sauce that isn't too spicy, but has excellent flavor. The fries basket was also covered in red peppers and a lot of lamb. Seriously, the fries were divine. The burger was also good, but I'd recommend you ask for it cooked well...there was a lot of pink left in the middle of it (a little too much for my liking). I had a few beers that hit the spot as well. This place has great food and excellent service, I highly recommend it!

My first impression of the meal was the it was great, but I found the meat a bit dry the end of the scale. But the sauce however was Great! Terrible, terrible, terrible…read more We went here for 4th of July, which was a Monday this year. So great, Sticky Fingers advertises half off mains on a Monday. Ah, but there's small print - 'up to'... I only noticed one thing that was actually half price, which was their most basic burger. The restaurant was all decked out in stars & stripes which was nice. We also saw online that if you wear a piece of striped clothing and a piece of starry clothing that you get a free sundae. Score. I wore a stripy top and my starry Converse - which hurt my feet but free ice cream. They had a little specials menu, which was 3 4th of July American burgers (none of which had any of the 'up to 50% off' and a £5 mini sundae. The restaurant was impossibly loud; it was only a quarter full but we couldn't hear the server, or speak to each other without shouting. Even the waitress said it was ridiculous. So while I wanted the specials burgers, it was a matter of principle that I had to get something with a discount. So I ordered jalapeno poppers to share, and a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. The jalapenos came out and are really awful. They weren't cooked enough and were impossibly hot, and the batter didn't taste of anything. It doesn't come with any sort of dip (I asked and they offered to bring me some mayo...) I didn't think there was a jalapeno popper made that I didn't like. Now I know better. So my burger comes out and it's tiny. It's about the thickness of a Five Guys patty and served well-done. For a £14ish burger (about £10 with the discount) it was paltry. The bacon was fatty and limp so I pulled that off. My onion rings tasted okay but weren't cooked. The taste of the actual burger was decent, with a nice crust on it, but it wasn't good overall. Throughout the service was non-existent. It's like we weren't even there. So finally they come to collect our plates and bring us the dessert menu. We had a look as we were both still hungry (we left most of our burgers) but nothing was exciting so decided to just get my free sundae. The waitress comes back and I say we don't want anything off the menu, but I'm wearing my stars and stripes so I believe I get a free sundae (and I proceed to draw her attention to my shoes). She nods and smiles and off she goes. Spoiler alert - the sundae never comes. After waiting there with nothing on the table for 15 minutes, we asked for the cheque. With the discount, for our poppers, 2 burgers, and 2 cokes the bill was £35 - extortionate. But wait, £5 of that is service charge! We left cash for the amount less the service charge and went home and ordered a pizza. tl;dr - Avoid. Overpriced poor version of Hard Rock.

I ordered the basic cheeseburger and I don't think the meat was of particularly high-quality. Also, it was cold. I also ordered their limited time only roasty tater tots. When I went to pick them up, however, they had run out of tots, and so they gave me a pile of french fries that I could dip in the gravy. Not exactly the same thing, but I thought I'd give it a shot. The fries were cold, so it didn't really much matter. The gravy was also cold. The gravy would probably be good if it were served at room temperature let alone hot. Food temperature and quality aside, the right thing to do would have been to refund the cost of the tots, not try to substitute fries without my agreement. If I had the chance to do it over, I'd skip this place.

Located right across the street from the Gloucester Road station it's really easy to find. And around 12:30 on a Sunday there were plenty of seats. Byron's is modern, yet comfortable. Staff is friendly and they make up a mean burger. Both the Hubs and I ordered the BYRON Burger - with bacon, cheddar, shredded iceberg, tomato, red onion and Byron sauce. At £9.25 the dish doesn't come with fries which is a bit of a bummer, and in turn a bit expensive. But we made sure to add a couple sides to try. The fries (£2.95) were mighty tasty. The order come in a nice size bowl that's easy to share. We also ordered up the courgette fries (fried zucchini sticks) (£3.25). I didn't love these...I guess I'd rather just stick to fresh/crisp zucchini instead of fried. Hubs liked them though. We ended with milkshakes to go. Yum. We spent about £32 ($55) on two burgers, two sides and two shakes. Which, generally, is a bit expensive for us but overall - Byron's a really good meal. Burger was seasoned nicely and cooked as asked. Soft bun. And I'm usually not fan of "secret sauces" but this one is really tasty, don't go without it.
