This cute lovely inn is located so conveniently in the middle of the lake close enough to the Fox Run Vineyards. The room was spectacularly clean. The shower water ran warm. And the AC and fan ran perfectly all nights. Contactless check in was easy - there was no one to greet us, instead there was a note directing us to our room number with our keys waiting for us in the keyhole. We did t spend much time in the back deck since our deck/chairs were the only ones facing the direction of the other rooms rather than the other patrons. But we found cute blue chairs down the field behind the house and spent some time there enjoying the outdoors, which was very quiet and peaceful. Our only negative was house soft the bed was with it's mattress topper. The middle of the bed really sunk in with 2 of us - our room could have used a new mattress. Other than that, we would stay here again if we are placed in a room with a slightly firmer or newer mattress. read more

Jeff built us a fire, respond with answers within minutes and even provided glasses so we can drink some locally purchased wine! If you are looking for a secluded and cozy place to lay your head check this place out. Quaint and cozy are the best way to describe the cottages here. This is not a B&B but just a nice place to stay if you do not need help being adventurous. A mom and pop place which is slowly gaining steam this adorable little spot is very close to a boat launch and sits right in the middle of Seneca Lake on the West side so you are close to Watkins Glen and Geneva. There are multiple wineries, distilleries and others to visit nearby. Additionally, there are great little "greasy spoons" close which serve hearty breakfasts. Also close are decent places to get both lunch and dinner. Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. The only reason it got 4 and not 5 stars is that we found ourselves waiting about 5 mins for the water in the shower to get warm. Odd because the sink water was hot quickly. It was no big deal for us since we were never in a rush but had we been it may have been frustrating. read more

STOLE $360 FROM ME DURING COVID-19!!!! REFUSING REFUND!!! DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE AFFECTED DURING GLOBAL PANDEMIC!! ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!! PICK ANOTHER MOTEL!!! I made a reservation on March 4th to stay here on April 16-19. Due to Covid-19, they were closed down, and I was forced to cancel my reservation on April 1st. I spoke with the owner Pat on the phone and he promised me that they would refund my money in full and that no cancellation policy would be in effect due to the pandemic. He said they were not looking to profit off of the cancellation fees/policy in place. ALL LIES!!! THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY MONEY!!! I have tried calling many times over the last month and have left messages and no one will return my calls. I haven't heard from the owner Pat in over a month and Sarah will only text me. Originally Sarah said that I would be issued a refund, I have the text to prove it and will copy in this message if I am able to. Then she went back on her word, just like the owner Pat, and refused to return my money. They are stating their cancellation policy is in effect during this pandemic which says you need over 30 days for a refund. I couldn't even cancel within 30 days of my stay because they were not closed down yet! Their only offer was to reschedule my visit. With horrible people like Pat and Sarah holding customer's reservation money, I would never want to stay at their establishment. To steal $360 from someone during a pandemic where people are losing their jobs and are counting every dollar is shameful and inhuman. I cannot believe they would take advantage of their customers during a time like this and keep their money. Hotels.com has been trying to help, but Sarah and Pat will not take their calls either. I have spoken to hotels.com many times and they are saying the policy on their website is the Savannah House's. Hotels.com did not collect the money so they cannot refund it, but they said Savannah House has that ability. Sarah lied about this and said that hotels.com has told her no refund is due. She even said Pat was unaware of the situation because he was in his truck when I had a 10 minute phone call with him about it!! They are both liars!!! I will probably never see that money again and I cannot do anything else but write this review for everyone to see what kind of people Pat and Sarah are and how they run their business. Please avoid this place. There are plenty of other great places to stay on the Finger Lakes. Avoid at all costs!!!! read more

We had the Queen Deluxe room and the room was spacious and we loved the decorations.  From the moment we got there Jeff was friendly, helpful and answered any question we had. This is a mom and pop business and they are really friendly and down to earth people. It might not be the most luxurious stay in the finger lakes but it gets the job done with the type of activities that are there too do in the finger lakes like wine tasting and horseback riding. The only part I was disappointed was not being near the lake as I though the cottage will be steps away from the lake. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet peaceful and relaxing place. Thank you for your hospitality!!! read more

Not worth the high price.......the deluxe room was certainly not deluxe and definitely not worth 250.00 a night. I was also told if you booked two nights during the week you would get one free. This did not happen. The room smelled like mold and it leaked. So glad all of our clothes did not get wet. Find another hotel, you will be glad you did. It is also located on a very busy highway and you hear all the road noise at night. It is not close to the water at all. read more

Was planning on staying here for the Phish music festival that got cancelled and we had mandatory evacuation. I called to see if we could come early as we had no where to go and there was a boil alert in the area. They told us no and that our reservation started at 4. It was a state of emergency and we were from out of town. This is no way to handle guest during this type of issue. We ended up not even going, disguised by the lack of help or suggestions. No money was refunded at all. I will not recommend this place or the way they handle business when the rest of the area we heard after the fact was giving half off discounts and letting people stay at their places for free. My wife came her for the a bachelorette party weekend with 5 other girls. The package included a massage and a limo driven wine tour as well as accommodations for 2 nights . When they arrived, the cottage they had rented was in a serious need of updating. They also had no AC in the unit. For a summer getaway this can get really uncomfortable. The massages for 6 people took 2.5 hours as they only had 2 massage therapists for the entire group. At the end, the therapists stated they needed to be paid. It took 10 minutes to contact the owner to get it figured it out that it was included and not on the people. The following morning at 11 am they were scheduled to be picked up for the wine tour. At 11:30 they found out that not only was their tour not booked, the tour company had no limos to send. The limo company stated they could do the tour the next day and that did not work for the group so they were instructed to call the owner back. the owner of the property stated he would figure something out. They got a call around noon saying a car would be getting them at one. The car turned out to be a mini van. While the wine tour was fine, the wine coupons give limited tastings, and were not the main wineries. Overall the girls had fun, but would never recommend this place to a friend. read more

It gets 2 stars because the massage and wine tour were wonderful. The rest....NOT. Let's start with I went for s girls weekend. The package states it includes 2 two nights in a combination of private queen rooms and the Deluxe Jacuzzi suite. Now to me that would mean at least 2 rooms since there was 2 of us but no. 1 queen room, no Deluxe Jacuzzi Suite we were told that was extra. The room had a bed and a chair. No sofa., no coffee pot. Coffee is in the very small check in space and not ready till 7:30 in the mornings. The massage was fantastic but there was no place open to go eat afterward. It was only 8 pm. There was no place to eat breakfast the next morning as nothing is open in the off season. We were never given a Wine travel card. And when we ask about a fire in the evening we were told everything was out if we wanted one. We were expected to do it ourselves. Do yourself a favor check around and stay somewhere else. There are numerous wine limos you can rent. read more

My boyfriend and I were planning on spending the weekend in Ithaca for our anniversary. I booked it 3 weeks out from our scheduled weekend to go) and didn't realize how far away it actually was. I emailed through booking.com asking if they could help us get a discounted cancellation fee or even waive the cancellation fee since literally I noticed the distance error within an hour of booking it. They didn't get a response from the House. I emailed the House directly the next day. Still no response. I waited two more days for a response yet none was given. I finally called and spoke to a man. I know that the cancellation policy is no refund within a month of your scheduled stay (It literally stated on their website "no refund for any reason"), but figured at least try since I tried contacting them within the hour of booking thinking they could give an exception. He described why they have such a strict policy and that people were holding the rooms and finding options that were better than cancelling them eventually. My statement was that I did not hold a room for more than an hour before we tried contacting them and they are the reason I had to hold it for more than a day. They said no exceptions. SO PRAY TO GOD you do not have any issues a month within your reservation because they will not have a heart and help you out, doesn't matter what it is! You WILL pay the FULL price of your room for cancelling. Terrible policy. DO NOT BOOK unless you are 100% confident. Beware before you book this place. We had made reservations and unfortunately my other half came down with the flu and was in the hospital a few days before we were scheduled to go. It was a big weekend, as it was the cheese and wine festival. I called and spoke to the owner Pat to explain our situation. We agreed that he would try to rent our room out but we wld be responsible for the $50 cancellation fee. Adding also that he thought it wld be next to impossible to rent it out so quickly, which I found kind of strange being it was a huge weekend at the Finger Lakes. We agreed that we would talk on Thursday to touch base. Thursday morning I received a text from a "Martha" who told me that they had rented our room at a reduced rate and were going to charge us the difference along with the $50 cancellation fee, stating it was per the agreement we made with Pat. That was not the agreement. We were quite upset and we called them to let them know. We told them that we would still pay the $50 cancellation fee but that we were not going to pay for the difference, as that was never agreed upon. He basically told us too bad. We are going to fight this through our credit card company. These owners obviously have no empathy. I do understand it's a business, however, I don't believe for one minute that they rented the room for half price when they weren't even willing to waive the $50 late fee for someone who had been hospitalized with the flu. And they had no right to make up terms which we never agreed to! read more
