The fire making and stone drilling activities also piqued her interest. I would give this camp 5 stars except for the fact that the camp end time doesn't accommodate working families. The regular day ends at 3:30 and "epic" day ends at 4:30. It would be so much more epic for parents if there was an extended day program until 5 or 5:30.

When exploring it was very difficult to navigate as there was little to no signage for the trails. We explored around back as the lodge was closed. All of the animals were relocated elsewhere, which I prefer personally seemed very small of an establishment to maintain any animal life. There is a short walk to the back field and there is an awesome 6-story treehouse that you can go in and climb around. We explored for a bit and went on our way. Definitely a neat feature to check out for a quick time kill.

This was the third year our guild has chosen to have the retreat here and we are coming back again next year. Dates are booked. Beautiful views of the lake. Cabin like accommodations where we were. The food at the dining room was amazingly good. Perfectly seasoned and gourmet ingredients. They don't skimp on food quality. The staff were all extremely nice and very helpful. I have only good things to say about my experience.

Casowasco is the former summer estate of the Theodore Case family. The property then included 73 acres of land, much of it wooded. It also included a mile of shoreline, a freshwater stream, a beautifully landscaped delta on which stood three large residences, a barn, a boathouse, a clay tennis court, and a small single lane bowling alley. A railroad, following the path of the old Auburn to Moravia plank road, ran along the shoreline. The building we now call Galilee was built in 1896 and served as the actual residence of the Case family and its many distinguished guests.

The camp director, Maria, made my first time without my children for a week, such a positive experience. I sent four children this summer and one did have a very difficult time with home sickness. The event was already fully booked, but I easily found tickets available for the next scheduled tour at 10 AM. We were fortunate enough to have Kate as our tour guide. She is awesome!
