They have classic arcade games like pinball & galaga, but they also have the newer games like buck hunter & a beer pong machine. The food is top notch, I always get their burger (made with their own special short-rib blend). They have a great selection on tap, with new beers rotated in pretty regularly. But the best part by far are the owners, Chris & Donna. They are the number one reason we keep coming back. I've never felt more welcomed in any establishment, it's like being in an episode of "Cheers" (but for millenials).

We visited over the weekend with friends who had dined there previously. Our 6:30 reservation was honored promptly upon arrival. The village setting is quaint, and the restaurant itself is warmly decorated--upscale enough to feel special but still relaxed and approachable. After being seated, our server presented the drink menu and specials. Our friends ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, along with the Steak Nicholas and the double smash burger. My wife selected the seafood special--a blackened salmon with lobster salad--while I opted for the Steak Nicholas as well. The food arrived in a timely manner and was everything was very good. My steak was perfectly cooked, complemented by the house Worcestershire sauce and compound butter. The fried green tomatoes were also well-prepared. The only disappointment at the table was the brown butter cake our friends ordered for dessert, which they found dry and lacking freshness. Where the experience fell short, however, was service. While our server was polite, she was difficult to find at times, leading to long waits for assistance. There was also some confusion when boxing up leftovers. The most significant issue arose when it was time to settle the bill. Our total came to $260, and we requested separate checks. Unfortunately, our server seemed very flustered and unsure of how to split the bill, and after some back-and-forth, she suggested dividing it evenly. We agreed simply to avoid further delay. However, when processing payment, the card charge came to $153 before tip--well above the correct half of the bill (approximately $130). Combined with our friends' $200 cash payment, the total ended up being $380, which inadvertently resulted in a very large gratuity - something we didn't realize until we had left the restaurant, as the confusion surrounding how to split the bill was frustrating and we simply wanted to head out. While we take responsibility for not carefully resolving the issue before leaving, the confusion around the bill frustrated us in the moment and left a negative final impression on an otherwise enjoyable meal. Overall: The food was excellent and worth trying, particularly the Steak Nicholas and seafood offerings. That said, service and billing procedures could benefit from improvement to ensure a smoother dining experience.

Even though it's the longest bar you'll ever see you can RARELY get a drink during Saranac Thursdays because it's usually so packed you can't squeeze through. Fortunately there's a small outdoor bar that never has a line but you can only get select beers and NO mixed drinks. THE LINES FOR THE BATHROOMS during Saranac Thursdays are not even worth standing in.. The bathrooms are gross and have curtains for doors. Don't be surprised if a drunk girl comes in and pulls the curtain back while you're using the bathroom. The only good thing about Sickenburger is if you're ever too drunk to find your friends during Saranac Thursdays come here and you're sure to find someone you know because EVERYONE COMES HERE sooner or later TO DANCE! There's live bands and the entire outside bar (which is huge) basically turns into a big dance party. They also play the basketball games on a HUGE PROJECTOR SCREEN outside which is fun to watch with friends. There's also a big deck outside with tons of tables you can chill and drink on. While I hold no ill will towards this establishment (I do not believe this business, its owner, or its employees are homophobic), this does not change the fact that they employ at least one homophobic bouncer. They attempted to gaslight us, saying we were turned away for holding out of state IDs, but both my partner & I have experienced enough homophobia to know better. The bouncer was aggressive, inappropriate, and clearly homophobic. We did not feel safe. The other bouncer looked uncomfortable with the exchange, but was silent and therefore siding with the bouncer harassing us. As if that wasn't enough, while we were dazed and surprised at the bouncer for his actions, he readily admitted three girls with out of state IDs--right in front of us. We left, but realizing what had happened, I walked back to confront the bouncer, to say how what had just happened was not okay. He further gaslighted me, grew flustered, & ended by reiterating how he has the right to turn away whoever he wants. In this case, he was exerting his right to not let two gay guys into this establishment. & for the record, we were not disrespectful or causing any problems that would have perhaps been grounds to deny us entry. We were sober, polite, & totally docile--I encourage anyone countering otherwise to go look at whatever security footage Sickenberger Lane has from that night. There you'll see me & my partner smiling & waiting, then looking confused & dazed as the bouncer harassed us. If I had known what we were walking into, I would've turned on a voice recorder. If you're queer, you should consider going elsewhere. You might end up having a great time, but you need to know that, depending on the night and who the bouncer is, this is not a safe place for you.

Two guys were having beers and talking, otherwise it was empty, and looked to be under construction too. Two ladies running the place apparently do catering business too. They were friendly and obviously take pride in their work. We were surprised to have such great food in such an out-of-the way place, at a bad time. They had some good beers on tap too. (motivated to finally write this since had just had a bad experience at restaurant in expensive/fancy hotel back home in CA; and we reflected on how we had such a great experience at this Motel 6, under renovation, in the middle of nowhere).
