The ribeye steak was asked to be done medium however in some parts it seemed like it was medium rare/rare. The steak sauce surrounding the steak made up for it but it was nothing too special. The truffle fries were the best part of the whole dinner experience. The fries were cooked perfectly golden brown and are shoestring fries. The truffle and parmesan cheese really made these fries shine as they are crunchy and soft on the inside with that hint of cheese. The li ribs were overcooked and hard. The sauce is good but i would definitely skip out on this. The kalua pig sliders were also another favorite dish of mind they tasted soft and juicy. The chicken wings were cooked to perfection and i really enjoyed this as well. We also had several drinks from this establishment as well but the ones that truly spoke out to us were the pina colada and lava flow slushies. They tasted very sweet but also had a good amount of kick towards it in the end. The passionfruit martini was also refreshing but did have a slight bitter taste to it. The mai tais were not the best i ever had but they are okay. Now we get onto the deserts. The lumpia cheesecake was very enjoyable. It was very crunchy on the outside and very soft and gooey in the inside. The kauai ice cream pie was overwhelmingly sweet. I would consider it if you love very sweet desserts but it was not for me. Some nice things to know is happy hour from 5-6pm /9-10pm and they usually have $5 off snacks & $4 off cocktails/drinks. They also have very soothing live music events during those times which could really set the mood. I loved the atmosphere this restaurant puts out. Is it the best restaurant on the island ? Probably not. But it's reasonable priced and the amount of food you get is a good price. Consider this place for good drinks and bar food while listening to nice music in the background.

Less "wet" from mayo, more on a thicker side-- superb! The braised short rib was melt in your mouth with a great semi glaze and fantastic crust on the meat. Honestly, the wait is usually a good sign there. Your order lineup hits a nice mix: * Mandu great choice for something shareable and comforting * Korean chicken if it tasted like an ajumma made it, that's basically the highest compliment * Beef sliders can't go wrong, especially when they're "ono" That mix of Korean flavors with a casual, almost random décor (yeah, "Mexican-ish" is oddly accurate for some island spots) is part of what makes places like that memorable--kind of a cultural mashup you only really find in Hawai'i. If you ever go back, people usually rave about their: * Garlic fries * Poke-style dishes * Local beer selection Kaua'i's north shore is full of low-key gems like that, but Taps and Hops is definitely one that sticks with you

It's pretty much an outdoor hut by the pool, and it did take a little while to get the food after ordering, but I'm pretty happy with my order! The keiki order of tenders and fries was very large too for a kid's meal. The pizza though I probably wouldn't get again - too doughy, and pretty small for the price. Overall a decent spot for lunch, and definitely a better deal than where we were staying, especially considering how many fries we were given with the kid's chicken tenders and ahi tacos!

Unless FIFA introduces a salary cap for Brie consumption, I'll be back hopefully before the next tournament. One clutch tip before you try your own championship run: reserve a table. This place stays packed harder than a World Cup final because it sits in the middle of a gorgeous Lihue plantation where you can ride trains, sample rum, and wander around pretending you're the captain of your own national squad. If your afternoon turns into a highlight reel after a couple rum tastings, sub in your phone and lock down that reservation before you're left watching from the sidelines. The Macadamia Nut Crusted Brie and grape salad deserves its own Golden Boot. The warm, crispy bread delivers perfect assists while the sweet grapes and creamy cheese play tiki-taka so beautifully they'd make defenders dizzy. Then comes the creamy portabella mushroom pasta, which doesn't need chicken, shrimp, or any superstar signing--it carries the entire squad by itself and wins the game in extra time. The staff treats every guest like they just scored the winning penalty, and if you really want the championship experience, request the patio garden. Dining out there feels less like lunch and more like lifting the World Cup trophy in paradise... minus the confetti, plus way better food. Oh BTW there bar and cocktails are to die for!!
