I cannot recommend this experience ENOUGH! My best friend and I went in completely convinced we were winters but with Karen's help we found that we were actually springs. This was unexpected for us because in all online color theory pictures, you mostly see redheads and blondes as spring. We're both Asian. First she goes over the profile of each season. The colors, makeup styles, fashion tips, examples of celebrities who are in that season. Make sure you pay attention! I didn't initially try to remember spring because as I said, I thought I was winter or perhaps autumn. Afterward, she used a device that showed if we were cool or warm toned and we confirmed with the draping process. She lets you take videos and pictures of the draping process which is helpful. Then you see which hair colors look best on you, looks through your makeup to see if you have the shades for your season. If you don't, she has makeup there she lets you try so you can see the proper colors you should be wearing. She does send you all this information after so do not be worried too much about remembering. Perhaps what's the most helpful is that Karen is very honest and friendly. She will let you know her opinion without sugar coating but you can also feel her expertise and professionalism. She first broke down and educated me on color theory and the differences between all the seasonal color tones, and the difference between warm and cool tones. Then, she uses a device to analyze your skin tone and then follows by taking different color swatches from each season to see which fits your skin type the best. She not only goes through the perfect season for your skin tone, but also breaks it down to hair color, shapes of glasses, eyebrow shapes, makeup shades, scents, jewelry, and the type of clothing you should wear. This experience was more than I expected and I left with more knowledge and the confidence to be able to shop for the perfect shades to match my skin tone. She also gives a color card to keep in your wallet to help when you shop too! For years I've wanted to get my color analysis done, and I finally booked with Karen. One of my larger life goals is to live more intentionally, and that includes shopping more intentionally by making informed decisions. She goes over what the appointment covers, which starts with a crash course in color theory, an overview on all four seasons which includes palette and style, determining your undertone by scanning your skin, and finally draping to determine your specific season and season group. After that, she goes over what hair colors, eyewear frames, and makeup palettes suit you, and let's you swatch some lip colors. Everything is sent to you via Instagram, and she sends you home with printed references, including small cards with your seasons swatches on it which I think can be very useful while shopping. I've been wanting to do a color analysis for quite a long time and was so excited to finally snag a spot with Karen! I will say, I was a little anxious as I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a lovely time! Karen is so courteous and knowledgeable--I never felt rushed whatsoever during the consultation and she truly educates you on warm/cool tones and all of the seasons, as well as hair styles, scents, etc. Then you sit down in the chair (if you're like me and have bangs and dyed hair, prepared for them to be pulled back and to have your head covered....you will look crazy HAHA) and do the fabric swatches. Took my bestie here as a surprise and the entire experience was so much fun. This was the first time we did anything like this. Karen sat us down and went through a whole PowerPoint with so much information about the different colors and seasons before we started swatching the colors against our face.
