For everything we trashed she told me why it wasn't working for me and it was a REVELATION. I now know what to look for when shopping for clothes that work for me. Even right after the closet edit, my style improved. I had new ways to wear the clothes I already owned and what was left were only things that worked for me and made me feel professional and put together. For the shopping appointments, Candace brought items to me since I am plus sized and do not have the greatest in store options. I felt like an actual princess or like I was in a movie montage. I've known about the talents of Candace for some time now but last month I finally put it to the test! I'm a business professional in the fashion industry. I want my look to be updated and age appropriate. First the closet edit- Her rules are simple-the session successful. It took us a few hours to clear through years of ill fitting clothes I had kept(for one day?). I tried on some of my clothes, she asked me a bunch of questions (why/what did I like about that piece). Then off she went- until our date at the mall. We went to a total of 3 stores, she had already picked out and placed my new clothes on hold. Candace is amazing! I've never felt particularly confident in the fashion department, but she showed me that it doesn't have to be complicated. I feel so fortunate to have found Candace for my first experience with a personal stylist. I wanted help creating a capsule wardrobe that was minimalist, environmental and ethical, and flexible for work and casual. I wanted a lot of things while also not have much of a clue what my personal style was. The environmental impact of the fashion industry paralyzed me from making any purchases because I wanted to make the right choice and have pieces that would work for a long time. I had a really good experience working with Candace, below are some of the things I really appreciated: - Candace has a pretty easy to use website that allowed us to do it all remotely. This worked well for me because of COVID but also because I travel a lot. The website let me see her selections for me and we were both able to comment on each piece. She also put outfits together on the website. - Candace put a lot of time and effort into helping me shop sustainably. It's not easy to find sustainable brands that are also fashionable. She also helped me better understand the various issues around what sustainable fashion means (labor, materials, energy consumption). - Candace really listens and tries to get to know you as a person to find clothes that are most consistent with the image you're trying to project. I trusted her opinions and felt that her selections reflected well what I wanted. I didn't even know what I wanted initially, but this process helped me better understand my personal style. - Candace was easy to work with and very relatable. I had a great experience with Candace and am only giving her 4 stars simply because I don't have anything else to compare her with, and I typically don't give 5 stars for anything :). This is the first time I've tried a personal shopper and I chose Candace because of all the other great reviews she had. Normally I'm suspicious of someone or something on Yelp with all perfect ratings, but now I can see why she came so highly recommended. She's incredibly personable and detail-oriented. She's direct, but polite - which I think we could all use more of in this world. She talked me through each decision as we audited my closet so I could learn how to pick out future items that I wouldn't regret later. Then we talked through my wardrobe needs, scheduled a day for shopping, and she went early to pre-shop for me so we didn't waste any time together. Efficiency makes my heart sing! We had a lot of luck shopping - she picked out items that I probably never would have considered, and was surprised to find that I loved them after trying them on. She then came back for a third appointment, in which she took photos of my clothes (which, in all honesty I probably could have done myself and saved her a trip!), and then talked through any questions I had about integrating the new clothes with the old. Lastly, she created an online "Lookbook" where she arranged outfits and selected recommendations for shoes, which we didn't get a chance to look at in our shopping trip. After I worked with the new outfits and shopped a bit more on my own (implementing her lessons), I reached out again with a few questions and asked for her feedback on what I had done. She immediately responded and not only answered my questions, but added additional outfits to my online Lookbook that integrated the new pieces I had uploaded! Candace is amazing! She squeezed me into her schedule last minute to create a capsule wardrobe for travel and then a big move. She first came over to purge my closet with me. I scheduled time with Candace to do closet editing. I expected this experience to be very overwhelming, given that I've been accumulating clothes for almost 15 years and felt guilty giving away stuff that had been hardly worn.
