Came here about a month ago for the color analysis plus makeup trial and so glad I paid extra for the makeup trial! We started with a quick PowerPoint going over the differences between warm and cool and other elements of color and shading such as chroma and hue. They included some comparisons of celebrities in their best and worst colors which I think was a bit of a waste as the photos selected were from very different lighting and often looked like they were taken from Google and had professional retouching, so there wasn't really an accurate comparison to be made between the photos. I would have preferred to have had that time spent elsewhere in the session. Regardless, that was a short part of the day and the rest of the PowerPoint was informative. Then we got into the actual color analysis and I was told if I was warm or cool and then which my two best seasons were, and where in each season I landed. We went through fun hair colors and eyeglass frames that would be most flattering as well as different shades of jewelry. They had a scent pairing section which was okay, but I don't see how scent and color analysis really relate since your skin and undertones are likely different from the pheromones that mix with various scents on an individual, so that was another part I felt like could have been skipped. I think they were trying to match it with the "style" of your season, but it would have been cooler if they had even went over style for different body types instead so it actually related personally. Then she gave me a breakdown of my results with a personalized PDF for my two best seasons. It came with makeup and hair recommendations as well which I loved and have used many time since as I shop! Finally we got to the makeup trial where she looked at a couple products from my makeup bag and selected a bunch of various products in my recommended shade that she helped me try on. I truly learned a lot during this makeup trial and have bee experimenting with new shades of eyelashes, blushes, lipsticks, which has made a huge difference for me when I feel like going all out on my makeup! I always felt like black eyelashes were so heavy on me and learned that I should actually be using brown. I would highly recommend paying the extra for the makeup trial as that had some do the most valuable information from the session! I wish some of the time from the other sections that didn't really relate or make sense had been spent here instead. I've been wanting a color analysis for so long! It's been all the craze in Korea and I'm so glad they have this service in LA. Claire is so sweet and patient. She makes the entire process seem easy. Booking online is simple, and there's usually ample appointment time because she does work hard to make sure there's so many slots available which I appreciate. I booked the essential color check and it was an hour session. She first goes over the basics of color analysis and discusses the color wheel. This is important for understanding your results later on. She starts out analyzing the skin on your face and body. And finds out if your undertone. Then the color analysis starts. She drapes the different color shades on you and find your best color scheme. This part is normally everyone's favorite. She then will also do best hair color, glasses types and best perfume choices as well. In the end she'll tell you your best color schemes, 1st and 2nd. She'll send you a summary at the end, 15 page pdf summary of your visit which is quite comprehensive. Save your money, don't go. Friend wanted to do the color analysis. Claire was very pleasant and friendly. Room has a lot of natural light that helps match your color. It was nice to see confirmation of the colors that best suit you, but nothing new was learned. We had a larger group and when I called to ask if we would have enough time for everyone as we had a reservation later that day the person I spoke on the phone with said yes and we'd be gifted samples of the products we used and a facemask. We didn't have enough time and we were very rushed at the end. The makeup portion, per Claire, was supposed to be really fun part and we all arrived bare-faced per instruction. It wasn't ideal.
