Before working with Gina, I hemmed and hawed over whether I needed a stylist or not and "shouldn't I just spend the money on clothes instead?". I had been referred to her through a few friends and it actually took me a long time to decide to call her. I finally decided that I wanted to quit buying clothes that didn't look great on me. I would often times misjudge at the store only to get them home, wear them once and realize they were not flattering! So I called Gina and she was really sweet and told me she could help me out with what looks great on me and also could help me wear clothes that fit my brand style. Before we even met I had homework assignments that were creative and fun to help her get an idea about what kind of things I like, so she (and I) could really get clear on what feel I wanted to present in my style. This was something I hadn't put much thought into before so it was really clarifying for me. When we met she was a great host and her work studio is really cute and warm feeling, it looks like it's out of a magazine. We went through my clothes and I really got an idea of what worked and in new ways plus how to quickly spot what wasn't flattering to me. Gina went step by step, telling me what to part with, what to mix with, what to buy and how to transform my ideas and clothes into actual looks. Gina was a tremendous help to me! I moved here from the east coast and felt a little lost about how to dress in LA in a way that would be stylish, age-appropriate, and work for an active life. We had an initial phone consultation, and I felt that she really got me, and was going to tailor her approach to me, rather than a one-style fits all thing. She came to my place for a closet cleansing, and I was impressed with how organized she was. She went through every piece in my closet and showed me what worked and what didn't, and created some outfits from what I already had. She was very honest but not at all mean, and I learned a lot and had fun too. When she left, I had a big bag of donations, a small pile of clothing that needed tailored, and more room in my closet for new things.
