My wife and I were traveling and found the rustler on the internet and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! We ordered the crab dip as an appetizer and it was fantastic. I had an 8 oz filet covered in crawfish sauce and my wife had the salmon. Both dishes were unbelievably good. The service was second to none. My son and I visited this amazing find while traveling from NC to Washington State. Definitely a diamond in the ruff. If you are not following google maps or a local; it would be easy to not know the exceptional service and food here! We went on New Years Eve and we're surprised to see a 5 star Seattle restaurant interior. All tables were reserved for the evening but, we found two bar stools next to a very friendly regular and local gentleman. Who was very pleasant to talk to. Between him and the bar staff, we felt at home. Had a fabulous night and the steak dinners were top notch. Definitely equal to or better than Daniels Broiler and the Metropolitan in Seattle at a fraction of the cost and better service! This was our first time to eat here. OMG this was worth our drive from Laurel. Oh YES they HAVE reservations. We had some of the best stuffed mushrooms I have evereaten. Knew I had to come to Meridian so I made reservations for 2. It was full upon arrival but with reservation, we were seated promptly. The waitress was attentive but not annoying (The perfect combo) and the steaks were great. Nice thick size and cooked properly for my medium and my wife's medium-well. The manager/hostess never stopped the whole night taking care of the front of the house as well as assisting each of the wait staff, bus staff, and making sure the customers were happy. All the previous reviews were spot on. The staff makes you feel very welcome and are very attentive. We had drinks and the crab appetizer. Excellent and the crab dip will fill you up so beware. The warm sourdough bread was soooo good. We had the cowboy ribeye steak and salmon. Both were over the top great. Steak was cooked perfectly and salmon was very tasty. Had a quick stay in Meridian and wanted a steak. I found the Rustler on Yelp and the reviews were awesome so I gave them a try. I ordered way more than I could possibly eat but the menu looked so good that I had to try a few things. I ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms to start and I'm so glad I did. It was way more than an appetizer size and they did not disappoint! Overstuffed with delicious crabmeat in a rich, decadent sauce. Truly amazing! For my entree I ordered the ribeye dinner with baked potato and asparagus. This was the best, juicy, cooked med rare to perfection I have ever had. That steak was melt in your mouth scrumptious and I got all this to go and ate it at my hotel. Dessert was their snickers cheesecake and seriously people, it was unbelievable! Needless to say, I had lots of leftovers and I saved it all and my husband and I shared the rest for dinner the next night! Yes, there was enough to share and it was excellent even the next night. I will have to say I just walked through the restaurant and into the lounge to pick up my meal but the ambience was romantic lighting, clean and I was greeted by a sweet and beautiful girl who was very accommodating and made the pick up easy. This is a local-family owned restaurant that appears to be a whole-in-the-wall dive. The quality of food at the Rustler is amazing! I had the steak and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked to temperature. If you are steak snob, this is your place. Found this gem on yelp. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The cocktail was perfect the steaks were perfect as well as the sides and salads. The kicker was the wait staff, these people know how to please the customer. A great meal can be ruined by a bad waiter or waitress. I can assure you that won't happen here the wait staff here are on point with customer service. I ordered the petite filet my husband had the ribeye we both had brussel sprouts sweet potato and salad. All was cooked right and delicious. Pulling up you would not think much as so many great restaurants are hole in the walls. This is by far the best restaurant in Meridian and one of the better meals my family has had. The service was impeccable and the restaurant was very nice and clean inside with the entire staff on top of everything. We had the barbecue shrimp app. Very good and both my son and I had surf and turf. Both of ours was excellent and my wife had the blackened red fish and she thought was wonderful. We ended our meal with a piece of the banana pudding cheesecake which was a definite must to top off a great meal. The restaurant is pricey, but most good things are! Diamond in the rough!!! What a find in this tiny little town!!! Walking in, I had no idea what to expect. The dimly lit bar had hints of grandma's basement. I was warmly greeted and ushered into the main dining room by Semmes, a sweet Southern belle who is the owner's daughter. I started with the sautéed crab claws, which were delicate and buttery, and a tasty intro to the meal. For the main, I feasted on the surf and turf, sweet sea scallops and a filet that just melted in my mouth. It was a perfectly cooked medium, warm pink throughout the center with a crisp outer sear. Accompanied by al dente Brussels sprouts and a baked sweet potato, it was like thanksgiving in July. Even though I was stuffed, I kept eating since it was that good. I couldn't pass up the dessert menu and dove into a warm, strawberry pound cake with white chocolate sauce. A sweet treat to end...for now.
