This place is heavily underrated. The atmosphere was fine, the workers are extremely kind, the sampler as well as the brisket sandwich were awesome! More food than we could eat. Best butter beans I've ever had.

This barbecued ribs were actually barbecued or smoked they were baked in the oven had very little flavor the butter beans turned out to be Ashley baby lemurs and the cabbage wasn't very good either

Came to Meridian, MS for a telecom showcase and decided to try Squealer's. I was pleasantly surprised. I ate on the covered patio which was nice and clean. The server was very friendly and attentive from my entering to leaving. I got the 3 rib with 2 sides(butter beans and green beans) and it was all delicious. Soda came in a mason jar which was cool. They also served delicious pork rinds like we get chips and salsa in San Antonio before the meal.

Driving through in the interstate and we wanted BBQ but not that chain place. So we found this gem. The menu is big. They have burgers and bbq and wings and lots of other things to choose from. All done well. And they give you free homemade pork skins. I got a pulled pork sandwich. It was good. My husband got the sampler. Let me tell you it was a lot of food. Brisket, sausage, pulled pork, chicken, ribs, and even wings. They were very friendly. Get away from the interstate and come here for lunch.

This is not a BBQ place. Nothing was smoked. All meat flavorless. Only thing that was good was the pork skins.

Eat here frequently. Food and service has always been good. They do provide a discount for military and veterans.

The exposed brick and thoughtful décor struck the perfect balance--classic and nostalgic with just the right touch of modern style. We were immediately welcomed by the sweetest hostess (I hate that I can't remember her name--she had glasses, a beautiful smile, and the cutest dress). She greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality that's hard to come by these days. She led us into the main dining room and seated us at a charming table dressed in crisp white linens. The space featured more exposed brick, tasteful artwork, and just the right amount of décor. The temperature was perfect, and the tables were spaced far enough apart to create an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter arrived promptly and was both friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly knew his craft and took the time to walk us through the specials, making sure we felt confident and excited about our choices. We ordered sweet tea, which was perfectly brewed--not overly sweet, just right. The complimentary peanut butter and crackers were something new to us, but after reading about the history behind it, we appreciated the thoughtful touch even more. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh and cooked to order. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich, the cheeseburger, and a special featuring a panini with a cup of gumbo. Each entrée came with perfectly cooked homemade chips. Every bite was spot-on--truly a 10 out of 10. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering dessert--when in Rome, right? We chose the peanut butter pie and the famous Black Bottom pie. After one bite of those generously sized slices, we all paused and just looked at each other. I don't exaggerate when I say we unanimously agreed they were the best pies we've ever had. What started as a plan to sample a few bites and take the rest to go ended with two completely empty plates. We consider ourselves food lovers, and I genuinely couldn't find a single flaw in the entire experience. We live nearly three hours away and are already planning a trip back. If you've made it this far in my amateur review, thank you--and I truly hope you get the chance to experience this wonderful, history-filled gem for yourself.

Ambiance - A locally owned gas store / deli, you can order a variety of FRIED food, both Surf or Turf, plates, family style or a la cart. The only fresh seafood they might have is Crawfish, when in seasoned. There are three or four small tables to seat and eat. I recommend as order as takeout. Service - the staff were fast and friendly. With a steady supply of locals coming through, they ready to take your order. The deli section is stocked with a lot of fried items so you can get your food quicker. However, I would recommend to get one of their PoBoy sandwiches. You won't go wrong. You may have to wait 5-10 minutes but it worth it. Food - 4 Stars Shrimp PoBoy combo w fries and drink. $13.99 I would have given it 5 stars but the fries were overcooked and too crunchy. The quality of the potato of the fries could be better too. The bread was fluffy and toasty just as it should be for a PoBoy! The amount of shrimp was overwhelming. See pictures. The sandwhich came w lettuce, onions, pickles and tomatoes. No mayo. I ordered the 8" combo meal but they have a 6" size, if you counting your calories because your cholesterol will still be high with the amount of fried food! Oh, I forgot, they have shrimp fried rice too. So get a side order! I forgot to order mine. Bummer. Enjoy
