If you haven't been to Squealer's in Meridian MS, you are missing out. From the pork rinds to the Redneck Nachos, to the chopped brisket sandwich. Honey, Im here to say, if you leave hungry, its on you! We had the best little server. Kept my tea glass full and made sure we needed nothing!!! We ate on what i call the patio area, it was such a nice day. I only dinged them a star because the bathroom could use a deep clean. Make sure you add them to your bbq list! read more

Squealers was recommended to us while traveling back home. This isn't Texas bbq, but does have its own flavor and flair. The highlights were the pulled pork, chicken, fried corn bread, Mac and cheese, and butter beans... The ribs were tough and brisket was not only fatty, but dry at the same time. The OG BBQ sauce is great on the fried pork skins, but need to ask for the Hot bbq sauce to add in flavor to some of the meats.. All in all this place is worth the detour and trying out. The staff is outstanding and very friendly, I would definitely try this place out again when passing through. read more

Portions was generous ,bbq sauce was confusing.Sweat tea tasted like tap water.potato salad was good.mac n cheese and fries was plain.Service was good. read more

As someone who's lived in Texas for multiple decades, this isn't Texas BBQ. That being said... it's pretty good The restaurant itself is rather rustic, and the interior and exterior patio were decorated in fall and Halloween decorations The menu has BBQ options, but the majority of entrees felt more like bar food. I'm used to being able to order a 2 or 3 meat plate, but these options don't exist here. You can try any of their meats separately, and here's one option to try virtually all their meets The staff was friendly and greeted us. Our server provided us with stellar service The food was pretty good. I must say that I'm not usually a ribs fan, but these ribs were delicious. Even the Mac & cheese looked like Kraft at first glance, but it was very tasty Some tips: Order the Sampler as it's a relatively affordable way to try most of their meats. This platter is served with baked chicken, 3 wings, a sizable sausage link, 2 ribs, brisket, 2 slices of garlic bread, etc. you also get to pick 2 sides. And if you order beer they come to you in frosted mugs Cheers! read more

This place is heavily underrated. The atmosphere was fine, the workers are extremely kind, the sampler as well as the brisket sandwich were awesome! More food than we could eat. Best butter beans I've ever had. read more

Not sure what other people are getting but every thing I've tried there isn't that good. The ribs look and taste like they were boiled or cooked in the oven. The only good thing was the service and atmosphere. read more

Got a sampler plate. Brisket was tough as leather. Pulled pork was dry. Ribs were overcooked and dry. Wings were fried to heck. Floors sticky. Horrible service. Don't waste your time. read more

I'm a pretty simple guy, I'm not very picky when it comes to food. But this was hands down the worst BBQ I've ever had. The brisket tasted like it was sliced up and cooked in a crock pot with some McCormick seasoning. The Mac n cheese was about the only good side. The bbq sauce looked like tomato sauce it was very watery. Floors were super sticky. My wife got the smoked chicken, it tasted like it was cooked in an oven. The potatoes were hard and not cooked, and the beans tasted like cheap canned beans. The ice cold mason jars for the drinks was the only positive for me. Definitely not worth the detour for some food. read more

This barbecued ribs were actually barbecued or smoked they were baked in the oven had very little flavor the butter beans turned out to be Ashley baby lemurs and the cabbage wasn't very good either read more

First, very friendly people! Helpful and patient. And the Food! Never a Disappointment! DELICIOUS! They'll even ask for your Honest opinion! The brisket sandwiches, Mac n cheese, and fries were absolutely delicious. Anthony was a very good server!

Came to Meridian, MS for a telecom showcase and decided to try Squealer's. I was pleasantly surprised. I ate on the covered patio which was nice and clean. The server was very friendly and attentive from my entering to leaving. I got the 3 rib with 2 sides(butter beans and green beans) and it was all delicious. Soda came in a mason jar which was cool. They also served delicious pork rinds like we get chips and salsa in San Antonio before the meal. read more

Driving through in the interstate and we wanted BBQ but not that chain place. So we found this gem. The menu is big. They have burgers and bbq and wings and lots of other things to choose from. All done well. And they give you free homemade pork skins. I got a pulled pork sandwich. It was good. My husband got the sampler. Let me tell you it was a lot of food. Brisket, sausage, pulled pork, chicken, ribs, and even wings. They were very friendly. Get away from the interstate and come here for lunch. read more

The food was terrible. Didn't even taste like smoked Meats. Nothing was certainly "fresh". The floors were like walking on velcro. Do they know they need to change out the mop water? I don't plan on going back, unless of course I'm kidnapped and they use this food to torture me. read more

We were looking for good bbq and found it at Squealers! Fast and friendly service and a menu full of bbq choices, sides and appetizers. The green beans were garlicky but yummy, the chopped brisket sandwich and pulled pork sandwich were a good portion. We ordered fried mushrooms for an appetizer and they did not disappoint. If you're looking for good bbq in Meridian, you should give Squealers a try! read more

This is not a BBQ place. Nothing was smoked. All meat flavorless. Only thing that was good was the pork skins.

The food was delicious. The place is quaint. The male server was terrific and accommodating. We got the sampler platter - enough for two or three. The brisket and pulled pork were perfect. Ribs were good too. Worth the drive into downtown Meridian. read more

I love this place. The one and only guy taking orders is so nice and efficient. Our food is always good and we never have to wait for very long even if it's packed. 10/10 recommend. read more

Awesome BBQ and you gotta try the fried banana pudding. Great atmosphere! Down home feeling, casual dining inside or try the screened in area if weather permits read more

Ribs are okay; tender albeit a little dry. The greens don't have any seasoning. Potato salad is heavy on the mustard. Beans are heavy on the bacon fat. 40 dollars for 2 half rack plates. You get a decent amount of ribs for the price. But the sides could use some help. read more

Came way off the highway based on the reviews. Totally worth it. Sampler platter. Great wings. Banana pudding incredible. BBQ great. Staff super nice and really helpful. Alex wrote out a bunch of travel recs for us too. read more

I had previously visited this place with a coworker, and it was so good I had to come back with my wife! We got the combo plate with brisket, chicken wings, baked chicken, ribs, sausage, and pulled pork. The meat is good but what is excellent is their honey BBQ sauce! We almost finished a whole bottle (don't judge). If you're passing along I-20, make sure you stop here! read more

The triple dog dare ya sauce was actually spicy, and the wings and things were amazing.

Delicious food and nice people who want you to enjoy your experience. I love the music too!

The service is absolutely horrible; had to beg for someone to bring us drinks once seated. I do not understand why it takes 45 minutes to get two cold pulled pork sandwiches and two store-bought sides. It's not as if they had to cook anything. One of the worst bbq experiences ever. Ridiculous! We won't be back. read more

The sauce was watery, the meat was unseasoned and tough. The sides were cold and everything tasted like it was heated in a microwave. The bathroom smelled of sewage and it permeated into the dining area. It's all you could smell while you waited on your food and by the time you got it, you are nauseous. read more

This is a dive barbecue place with delicious food. Instead of bread, fried pork rinds/skins are brought to the table. My wife and I split the sampler entrée, so we could try the brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken wings, pulled pork, and chicken. The brisket was great, even though it was a little salty. I ate all of it. Sausage is not generally my favorite, but this one was delicious. Ribs & the pulled pork were both very good. My wife said the chicken was good. My daughter got a large smoked potato with cheese and chicken. I tried a bit and it was good as well. The portions were large-- two of us could not finish the sampler (which was less than $20). Even the Texas toast and corn fritters were delicious. My only regret was being too full to try one of the desserts. read more

First you may experience getting a little lost from the directions that came up on Google Maps. The map showed the restaurant to be on the opposite side of North Hills Drive which is actually marked as 29th St. Look for the Advance Auto shop on the corner and Squealers is across the street. We arrived 30 minutes before closing and the staff were very nice and served us right away. Food was hot and tasty. The 1/2 slab dinner was huge and there was no way I could finish. The Rib Dinner is more than enough. Hubby had the Sausage Dinner which was seasoned with sage. We both enjoyed the fried okra and flat corn fritters. read more

On a road trip and wanted something besides fast food so we drove off the main highway about 10 minutes to Squealer's. We were greeted immediately by the gentleman behind the bar, he had us choose our preferred seats, then we were greeted within 1 minute by a lovely server. A few tv's were on, not too loud. Food and drinks were served within quick and reasonable amount of time. The ribs were moist fall of the bone delicious, greens and mac n cheese were great. Loved the house made honey bbq sauce, though its not needed but curiosity paid off - very good not too sweet bbq sauce recipe. It was worth the hike to get there. Nice genuine southern hospitality and very good food. We'll be sure to stop in again on our next trip to New Orleans. (Family friendly and casual comfortable atmosphere) read more

Eat here frequently. Food and service has always been good. They do provide a discount for military and veterans.

If I could just review the food, I'd give them 5 stars. They bring you free pork cracklings when they get your drink order. Almost all of the food was so delicious. I had the Mango Pepper Wings, my friends had ribs, brisket, and a pork chop sandwich. The Mac and cheese had no flavor whatsoever. Very disappointing. Other than that, the food was awesome. Now, the service was awful. One girl took our order, but then the manager sent her home. (We were later told that she had hurt her ankle. I get that.) The new waitress didn't come right over and introduce herself, but when she finally did, it was very... awkward. It took forever for our food to come out, and when it did, we reminded her that we had ordered something to-go. She said, "ok," and left. We ate, I think she came around one time. It was not busy at all. When we were done, we waited and waited, and finally stopped her to get a box and our checks. We reminded her about our to-go order. She looked at us like we had three heads, then disappeared. The assistant manager then came out, she nicely explained what happened, but didn't offer us a discount on anything. I thought she should have at least discounted the to-go order that they put in, but she didn't. The order finally came out, but our waitress didn't come to get our payment. We ended up taking them to the very not friendly bartender, who did not seem very knowledgeable of the point of sale system. TL;DR: Food is awesome, service needs a lot of work. I'd go again, but hopefully the staff will be better. read more

This place is amazing. My love and I took my youngest sister and our stepdad here for supper the Saturday after Valentine's Day as a Valentines Day treat to them and each other. We lost my mom in January of 2023 and since then Valentine's Day has been hard on my stepdad, my baby sister and me so we wanted to put a smile on their faces. 3 of us got the half slab dinner and it was big enough that just 1 would have fed 2 of us not to mention the sides were huge to. The ribs were so tender that they were falling off the bone tender. My baby sister and I both also got the large Strawberry cake jar and it was so delicious. Our waiter was so nice and he knew exactly what we would like before we even ordered and everything came out really fast where I was thinking it was going to be at least 30-45 minutes like at most bbq restaurants it was out to us in less than 20 minutes. I loved the ambiance of the place because they use mason jars for glasses and they have it setup where it feels like you have walked into an old time salon from a western. I love this place and I will definitely be going back that's for sure. read more

We were traveling from Texas to South Carolina and stopped here to try something more local rather than big name restaurants that we can find anywhere. This place did not disappoint, all our meals were great but my grown son got spicy margarita wings and they were fantastic. The BBQ chicken & ribs were delicious too. Staff was absolutely wonderful, all of them were so friendly and just so welcoming. It's definitely worth giving them a try don't think you will be disappointed with anything you choose from the menu. read more

4 brisket sandwiches and over 1/2 of the meat was fat and the less than 1/2 was tough tasteless meat that was NOT smoked. The so called BBQ sauce was just straight vinegar with a few spices thrown in and was disgusting. Server saw a pile of fat, on a plate, in the middle of table and said she was sort. She then explained that the kids were running the place and owner was on vacation so that is why it was so bad. I eat BBQ at least two times a week and this was the worst SLOPPY food that I have ever had. Can I give a zero? read more

Never been a southern style BBQ fan, I normally prefer KC style, but this place may have just evened the playing field. Loved the original and honey bbq sauces, very light but very tangy. Brisket was phenomenal, ribs were bigger than anywhere I've ever been, and to top it all off the corn fritter was delicious as well. I will definitely be coming back here the next time I'm coming through. read more
