We had a queen size bed. There was also a small fireplace (gas) and a whirlpool tub. Cute patio , that faces the bay. The view is slightly obscured by trees and marsh grasses. The usual amenities. Mini fridge, one cup coffee pot and hair dryer. Unfortunately, we found the bed to be extremely uncomfortable. It was like laying on the floor. The pillows were down, but the kind that flattened and stay flat. The water in the shower is just gross. It left you feeling slimy. Never clean. My hair was a giant knot, no matter how much conditioner I used. Unfortunate. There is no microwave in the room. However , there is one by the coffee bar in the lobby. They also had a mini fridge with juices and flavored water. They did not offer water or ice anywhere. This was a huge inconvenience. We drink a lot of water and ice would have been nice. We did end up buying a case of water. As cute as the Blacksmith inn is, I would not go back. If you're not getting a good nights sleep it really affects your vacation. And not feeling clean after showering ick

Oh Door County, you wondrous vacation spot from my childhood! Not visiting in years, I recently had…read morea chance to go back to Door County with my husband, sister, and parents- AND it was like I remembered it with the added bonuses of now being an adult who can do more shopping (allowance becomes salary) and drinking (cider becomes cider). These are good things. Yes, it is a nice spot for young families, but you can also have a quality time with a group of adults. If you have never been or never heard of Door County (or DCW for us in the know), it is about five hours from Chicago (four if you speed, but you won't want to). Five hours is a completely manageable drive, when the weather is nice; when it isn't, you basically pray on a loop that you won't hit a deer. The anxiety just makes the drive more fun! In pleasant weather, you pass distracting places with huge signs that simply say "C-H-E-E-S-E" and "F-I-R-E-W-O-R-K-S" on them. Driving from Chicago, you basically follow the coast line of Lake Michigan until you can't drive anymore; DCW is the thumb on the hand of Wisconsin. For my Michigan natives, use your other hand to understand Wisconsin's hand geography. Where we have stayed at friend's cabins and some other hotels, we stayed at Blacksmith Inn on the Shore this time. Blacksmith Inn is beautiful and has many room options (including ones in the Harbor House next door). For this stay, we rented out the Orchard House across the street. The four-bedroom fully-functional house felt more like an airbnb rental than connected to the Inn, which was absolutely perfect. So much well-preserved vintage, comfortable beds, and an excess of bathrooms made this a great place for our group. There are many other stay options in Door County; with all of the inns, B+Bs, lodges, and actual airbnb rentals, you basically need to breakdown what are going to be the most important amenities for your stay and book accordingly, but this place was perfect for us.

Very clean spacious area Our room was large, super clean & came w/a fully functional kitchen. We had an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine stocked w/coffee, tea, filters, creamer & sugar. The cabinets had pots & pans & utensils. Normally I don't need a kitchen when on vacation however there wasn't very much open in Baileys Harbor this time of year I really loved the faculty, the location right in the water facing west where we were treated to 2 gorgeous sunsets literally right through the window or just outside the door. The staff was all super friendly & helpful. There was an indoor swimming pool & jacuzzi as well as an outdoor pool (not opened yet)

I cannot say enough positive things about the resort or the staff. The resort was the cleanest I have ever stayed in (and for my career, I stayed in many resorts, hotels, conference centers etc.) We stayed in a one bedroom unit and the kitchen was well equipped and the bed very comfortable. The indoor and outdoor pools were beautiful and they even had bikes that you could check out and ride. The staff were knowledgeable, professional and extremely helpful both before and after we arrived. Before we arrived we needed various room changes as family schedules changed. The resort was always helpful and precise with our changes. Unfortunately, I left one item that I wanted for the reunion at home. It was family documents and pictures that were irreplaceable. I had a friend send it UPS. It arrived the day after I checked out. So after I left, the resort staff took it upon themselves to send it back to me. Now when have you had service like that??? They were wonderful and I cannot be more grateful. I will be back! Bev S.

If you come here, don't expect a four-star accommodations, however, it was clean and the rooms were large. The shower had a lot of pressure and the water was very hot so it was great They allow pets and it seems like everybody I saw, had a pet. Again, the interior of the room is kind of 80s that hasn't been updated, but if you can get past that then, I think you will like the place and the people working here were really really friendly. The tub and toilet were pink - how funny is that? The last thing I would mention is that they did have a fire pit with free wood, although we didn't use it, but that was a nice perk to the place

Bathroom had loose boards propped in front of the water heater which crashed down on us. Ripped bedspread. We couldn't leave fast enough the next morning. Management offered a $30 refund on a bill of $197 for one night! Refusal to give me the owner's phone number. Complaint to Better Business Bureau was ignored. No refund given.

Even then, it seemed the place had few guests, and we were able to book just a couple weeks before - almost unheard of in Door County in late July. Service is non-existent. There was a teenager at the front desk to check us in -- the ONLY time we saw ANY other staff was Thursday evening when the bartender was locking up (at 7:00). No one made up rooms or exchanged linens - linen closet was left open for us to help ourselves. Sign on front desk said it was staffed ONLY from 9AM to 2 PM, but even with those short hours we never saw anyone in our four-nite stay. Restaurant is closed (again, PRIME SEASON) - bar is open only a couple nites per week, and then only 2-7 PM. No one available in case of emergency. Everything is REALLY outdated. Smells musty, with dehumidifier/air-conditioning units running full blast in both rooms of our suite when we arrived. Bathroom has been updated, but rest of the room is dark and gloomy. Window curtains are very sheer, so you better like waking up with the sunrise. Wi-fi is pretty weak, only one small TV. It was good to find a room on fairly short notice, and we had a very active four days with little time in the room, so it was "adequate" - but NOT someplace we'll stay again.
