We arrived on Friday 9/12, and the check-in process went well, the room was nice, and everything seemed ok. We were told that the housekeeping service would come in daily and remake the beds, cleanup the room, remove and replace any used towels and empty the garbage and resupply any coffee and toiletries needed. This was true only the first day. The second day we were out for the day and came back late and noticed that nothing had been touched? We went to bed and figured they would come back the next day. Nope...nothing. We had to empty our trash and reuse the "towels, etc. I had to go to the office get my own coffee supplies, etc. The only response I got was "Sorry"...help yourself to what you need. No....what is your room number? so, we will make sure they service you tomorrow. Nope...didn't happen. The worst part was the extremely loud pipe banging noise that began off and on from 12:00 midnight to around 4 am the last night we were there. It was intermittent and lasted 30 minutes each time it happened. No sleep for us that night. We went to the office to report it and were told.....we have had that happen in the past...and the obligatory "Sorry".....Very dismissive and after I explained the lack of room service and the noise that kept us up the response was an amazing," Sorry but we hope you will come back" followed by a smile? Very disappointing.....customer service? I hope future potential visitors have a better experience than we did... not a good birthday weekend. . They seem to not to care about living up to what they promise they will do. We will definitely not be returning here!!!

When we first arrived Wednesday afternoon, the lady at the front desk was kind of rude, standoffish and didn't really want to answer any of our questions. Walking through the hallway, everything looked very antiquated. When we got into our room I was disappointed to see that our over $350 a night room was pretty dilapidated, old and tiny. However, there was a small mini fridge and microwave available which was nice. There is free wifi available but can be fairly laggy. The resort itself is located right across the street from the water so you get a nice view of the water and you do get a small balcony to sit on with some patio furniture; however, there always seemed to be so many mosquitos there so I never did go outside. There is free breakfast available for guests. There were a few trays available for guests to bring their food up to their room. The selection was pretty simple but filling with some fruit, cereal and frozen jimmy jones breakfast sandwiches. There was a guy working in the breakfast room one morning that was kinda rude but apart from him and the lady at the front desk all of the other staff were quite friendly especially the housecleaning staff. All in all, a fairly average accommodation that wasn't too impressive; however, if you're not planning on staying in your room for too long while exploring Door County it may be adequate.

All the rooms are very spacious suites with nice views of the water. Being right on the Sturgeon Bay, it has a big lawn, a pier, and seats for watching the magnificent sunsets. Though it is in a quiet area off the beaten path, it is within a short driving distance to Sturgeon Bay museums and restaurants (including Culver's, McDonalds, and local restaurants), and not far from many other tourist attractions in Door County. Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite had a full kitchen, large living room, fireplace, jacuzzi, and deck, and it was very well-maintained and nicely decorated. This newly renovated, family owned lodge has so much small town charm, you just don't want to leave. I woke just before sunrise to dim light, a slight overcast and quiet waves hitting the sandy beach just 40-50 yards from the back porch seating! There is a slight trail that will guide you past and around a local house that is perched right on the beach. Don't be afraid to walk past it, the lodge owns beach access and the neighbors have learned to live with it (We confirmed the route to access the beach [Right in front to us] with the lodge owner) Hubby made our plans to travel to WI just a week before we arrived! He tried to have us stay near or very near Lake Michigan and Green Bay. So, we embarked on five different locations for five individual nights. This was our third overnight, our second on the peninsula. What a wonderfully peaceful evening. The best word I can use to describe the lodge is just "peaceful". I say this to be clear-- People woke to just sit quietly out back amidst the view - but since I could not be quiet, I sought out someone to share the experience with. We found, we enjoyed!! Rooms seemed recently renovated- and that is my presumption since the owner said they just took over a year or so ago. Bathroom floors were new, as was the paint and the texturized walls. The decor is simple and muted, but not unflattering. The beds were comfortable and pillows extra fluffy!! Towels were fluffy and bed linens were super white and clean. There was a coffee shop on site called "A Little Bit of Coffee" which featured the Door County Coffee brand and boasted a variety of their flavors. We truly enjoyed this cute, little hotel and look forward to staying there for several days on our next visit to Wisconsin.

There's plenty of parking in the lot in front, complete with a fountain and foliage. The inn is the perfect blend between inn and B&B. The owner checked me in with a warm welcome but was blessedly brief. He told me what I needed to know but unlike most B&Bs he didn't tell me his life story. I appreciated the ability to get to my room faster. I initially found this place because I came with my sister a decade ago and needed a place with two beds which this inn had. My room this time was on the second floor. There are no elevators so if you don't do stairs be sure to book a first floor room. Both levels have two cozy sitting places with comfy chairs. The first floor has a side porch with a comfy couch. First floor also has an honor bar with wine, soda, beer (spotted cow of course!) and a few little snacks. And a 24 hour coffee machine. The rooms are all nice. This time I had a ridiculously large suite because I booked last minute and it's all that was available. But wow! It was impressive. The sitting area has two sumptuous chairs thick enough to cozy my full body into with legs curled up, and arms wide enough to rest books on. There's a wet bar and the fridge works great. My ice packs even stayed solid in the little freezer element. The balcony has two chairs and is quite lovely. The shower is remarkably refreshing with nicely scented bath products. The sink is separate from the toilet and shower. Strangely the jacuzzi is out of the bathroom altogether and next to the bed which for me is a bizarre juxtaposition. The bed and pillows were comfortable enough that I slept quite soundly. The breakfast on the weekdays I was there was from 8-10a. The coffee was good although a little weaker than I make it at home. There's a menu and you can order as much as you want, all included in the room charge. Every morning included options of: orange or grapefruit, house made granola, variety of breads, vanilla yogurt, and a bakery item such as a muffin or slice of coffee cake. Then there were always three hot items such as scrambled eggs, ham, waffles with cherry. I loved the variety of choices and everything was delicious. I missed more fruit and would have like a banana or some in season fruit since it was summer. Everything was wonderful and this will continue to be where I stay whenever I visit door county.

We would stay here again. My only complaint is that the tub was very slippery while showering, and we had to ask for a shower mat. The shower mat should have already been in the tub. If someone falls and hurts themselves in the tub, they could face a lawsuit. Best to just keep the mat in the tub, and clean it between customers.

It's been updated over the years so it's clean and comfortable. They definitely need to upgrade the drapes so they are room darkening, some are pretty old and the light shows through. A cornice at the top would be nice to prevent light from the top too. The HVAC system usually isn't a problem but on this trip our room (116) had a very old system - looked like it was from the 1970's. The AC went on and off all night - no option to keep a steady fan on. The pool and hot tub are very nice and so relaxing after biking 100 miles! We will definitely stay here in the future, Lord willing we get to do the DCC again!

We got a room that was up one level from the lobby but it was great the parking was on that level also. So our room was a great set up we had a balcony that was nice to sit on and relax. A small kitchenette, bathroom, couch, table, a good size bed and a whirlpool tub. That was very relaxing after the long days of hiking and walking. They had an indoor and outdoor pool, tennis courts, grills if you want to cook and it was very easy getting to my room. It was not peek time so they were not super busy yet. And that was perfect for us. They also were participating in garage sale weekend that we did not even know was around town. That was fun also
