I found both comfort and concern when I saw that all of the reviews were pretty old. I arrived with an open mind, this Inn is north... like really north! If you are looking for something closer to Sister Bay keep looking. If you're open to being away from the craziness and looking to relax this is a great location. We stayed in the mate room, and to be honest I would love for them to start telling guests they are going to be on the second floor and that stairs are involved. My friend had a hard time going up and down the stairs and we probably would've picked a different option had we known. Once inside there's not a lot of frills. Two coffee cups and some soap, that's about all you get. I was happy to see the water from my bed, and there are a couple of dining options within walking distance but that's about it up there. The beds were almost too soft, but as far as sleeping goes it did the job. The sauna was broken during our trip and we did not use any of the community spaces the Inn has to offer. Overall it seems a little pricey for what you get, but for the area it's not out of the question. I think for a small price they could really upgrade their experience.

We were by far the youngest visitors in town, but we were ok with hanging out amongst the blue hairs. We needed the peace and quiet. The resort has a good location - right on the bay so you can see the water and nice sunsets. Not a perfect view since you see the other side of the bay, but better than a lot of the little resort motels in Door County. I think next time we'll stay closer to the northern tip (closer to Ellison Bay) so we can get the uninterrupted view of the lake without seeing land on the other side. The resort was nice - friendly staff, upkept grounds, decent amenities in the rooms. Definitely needs some updating, especially in the hallways. Their continental breakfast is laughable but adorable. Tiny muffins, pieces of strudels, pieces of scones. Do what you can to save a couple bucks, huh, Pine Grove? Haha - it sufficed but was a little funny to see. Overall we had a great stay and encourage any first time Door County visitors to try Pine Grove resort. The whirlpool topped off the whole trip!

We arrived on Friday 9/12, and the check-in process went well, the room was nice, and everything seemed ok. We were told that the housekeeping service would come in daily and remake the beds, cleanup the room, remove and replace any used towels and empty the garbage and resupply any coffee and toiletries needed. This was true only the first day. The second day we were out for the day and came back late and noticed that nothing had been touched? We went to bed and figured they would come back the next day. Nope...nothing. We had to empty our trash and reuse the "towels, etc. I had to go to the office get my own coffee supplies, etc. The only response I got was "Sorry"...help yourself to what you need. No....what is your room number? so, we will make sure they service you tomorrow. Nope...didn't happen. The worst part was the extremely loud pipe banging noise that began off and on from 12:00 midnight to around 4 am the last night we were there. It was intermittent and lasted 30 minutes each time it happened. No sleep for us that night. We went to the office to report it and were told.....we have had that happen in the past...and the obligatory "Sorry".....Very dismissive and after I explained the lack of room service and the noise that kept us up the response was an amazing," Sorry but we hope you will come back" followed by a smile? Very disappointing.....customer service? I hope future potential visitors have a better experience than we did... not a good birthday weekend. . They seem to not to care about living up to what they promise they will do. We will definitely not be returning here!!!

I always knew it was clean beautiful and great service however on this most recent trip I unfortunately had some health scares and not only were they kind enough to let us extend our stay they covered the cost of the rooms for two days out of the kindness and generosity of their staff. Door county and in particular the High Point Inn exemplifies not only outstanding service but true human kindness. The TV stays off and we sit on the balconies and watch the lake. The units I have rented in all had nice furniture, are clean and have kitchens with all the pots and pans you need. We always save money eating in, and utilize the gas grills. Plenty of room for two couples. Never feel cramped or in each other's space. They have everything you need to get away on the water. There is a spot to launch kayaks, play tennis, seen people fish from the marina. Plenty of places to walk to. Can't forget to mention pool and hot tub. Both are perfect temperatures and never seem over chlorinated Next door is a public beach for swimming and a short walk swings for the kids. Short walk to local shops and eating. We like the location. Neighboring towns don't seem to far to run out to eat or shop. We try to stay at least once a summer and love it so much we stopped looking for another place to stay.

My sister had a special request due to a medical issue so she called them to make her reservation. Her special request was granted, no problem. They were very understanding. Well we did not want to come home (who does, right?) so on the last day we asked if we could stay for another night. Lacey, the manager, accommodated us just fine with the request. The one thing I check out when I stay anywhere is the cleanliness of the room. I don't mind if a place is older, but I want clean. My room was absolutely top notch in cleanliness as well as my sisters. (Kudos to the cleaning staff!!) I was totally amazed at how clean they were. Also, they do not use those stinky, masking sprays during or after they clean, which was a total relief to my allergy nose and my asthmatic lungs. The room is very neutral, no smell, but again....VERY clean. Also, it is the little things in life that can make you smile, such as having a soap dish on the bathroom sink and also in the shower, having a power strip in the room on the nightstand, having a towel rack in the bathroom in addition to the usual hook, a corkscrew supplied, super soft towels, a shower caddy, and tissues within reach almost everywhere (I had 2 boxes in my room and 1 in the bathroom). As a person with allergies, this can be very helpful The bed was very comfy and I had a king bed and it had 6 standard size pillows on it. I had a variation of pillows to choose from, soft, firm and in between. I had no problems finding a pillow to fit my sleeping needs. The internet was fine once I hooked up to the correct one. The cell signal...well you are in Door County after all, so it can be hit or miss. I was able to use my cell phone when I needed to, but the signal varied from place to place on the property. This was not a big thing to me as I usually try to disconnect when I am in DC. I mostly used the internet and phone to communicate with my husband. Oh, and pinterest for crochet patterns. The thing with being near woods is spider webs on the outdoor railings. It is a natural thing, but not something I really want to see. I have been staying in DC for over 30 years and I find this quite a bit. Here, it is rare that you see one and if you do, it is gone within a day or two. Upon my arrival, I was hauling my small cooler up the stairs to my room. I have knee issues so I was taking one step at a time and struggling a bit with the cooler. Their was a cleaning person at the top of the stairs and he asked if he could help me in any way. That gesture was so kind and really was above and beyond his duties. I did not take him up on the offer, but again, it was a very kind offer. As I stayed on the 2nd floor, I had the regular door that faces the back of the property, and a patio door that faces the front of the property. The back door has a screen door so I was able to have the doors open and the breeze flowed through my room very nicely. Each day you get a 'goody bag' at your door. This includes towels, soap, shampoo, facial wipes, coffee, and cups. (I think I remembered everything) I love this idea, but actually I only dipped into 1 of my bags for towels and shampoo. The owner, Gayle is a wonderful person. I got to sit and talk to her for quite awhile by myself one day and she is a great person and is very friendly. My sister and I also had time to chat with her on a couple of occasions, she is down to earth, a good business person and just down right friendly. Gayle is genuinely concerned about her guests and their stay. The property was purchased in Oct 2016, so yes, they are under new management. However, they are very open and accommodating.

It was dark, small, living TV wasn't working, the lighting was terrible. The one positive thing that I can say is it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We checked out after an hour or so and found a place that suited our needs. Hopefully, we'll get at least 4 of our 5 nights refunded. My advice is check the rooms out before you check in and call the hotels directly before you book it. Reservation website aren't always accurate and truthful. As a former front desk associate, I know how important is to have a satisfied guest, so that your hotel is highly recommended and returned to.

That's exactly what we did on our return visit. We booked a one-bedroom condo with a first-floor porch overlooking the woods. Peaceful, quiet, and wonderfully dark at night! The condo was clean, comfortable, and had a small but fully equipped kitchen, complete with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and everything we needed. The property itself is small and tucked away on the quieter side of Sister Bay, which we loved. There's a lovely pool with towels conveniently provided poolside, plus a grilling area. And with Piggly Wiggly nearby, stocking up on groceries was a breeze! The housekeeping staff was terrific, especially the young woman who happily worked around my morning work schedule. And here's a little touch that made me smile: the receptionist had hand-colored the local maps, right down to the green trees and brown buildings. I actually kept mine!
