I booked online and was promised a deluxe king suite based on the pictures and description of the room. It wasn't even remotely close to the description or online pictures. It was dark, small, living TV wasn't working, the lighting was terrible. The one positive thing that I can say is it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We checked out after an hour or so and found a place that suited our needs. Hopefully, we'll get at least 4 of our 5 nights refunded. My advice is check the rooms out before you check in and call the hotels directly before you book it. Reservation website aren't always accurate and truthful. As a former front desk associate, I know how important is to have a satisfied guest, so that your hotel is highly recommended and returned to. read more

I'm still within the window to get my money back, but I have never once been able to get in contact with them over the phone and they replied to only one of my emails. But it's been 20+ days since they said I'd get refunded, yet I've seen no confirmation email or return of my deposit. read more

I made resvs in January for a 3 night stay in July. I ended up cxling in March. I sent an email - to the address listed on their website - requesting a refund as well as a cancellation confirmation . Ignored. I again emailed in April. Again, ignored. I finally got a response on 5/4 (after ANOTHER email). 'Lacey' said this was the first she heard of my cancelation, and that she would take care of it that day. I waited another 2 weeks for a refund/ltr of cancelation, and was told "I told you on 5/4 I would take care of it. It does take time for a refund to go through". Waited ANOTHER two weeks, and was told "I'll look into it". I finally contacted the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin, and within an hour of 'Lacey' receiving my complaint, I received my cancelation letter dated June 6, 2023 (more proof that she didn't cancel my reservation when she said she did) as well as an email stating "You should receive your refund within 3-5 days". Sure enough, I got my refund today (6/9). This is a no-frills, cheap motel in a good location. I've stayed here many, many times over the last 25+ years due to its value, and have never had this kind of treatment. Past owners were wonderful and took excellent care of their guests. This was my first stay at this hotel and I will be back. When I made my original 2 day reservation, the response was sent via email right away. Later, I updated my reservation to add 2 more days so I called to see if the room was available. It was and my confirmation email was there when I hung up the phone. My sister had a special request due to a medical issue so she called them to make her reservation. Her special request was granted, no problem. They were very understanding. Well we did not want to come home (who does, right?) so on the last day we asked if we could stay for another night. Lacey, the manager, accommodated us just fine with the request. The one thing I check out when I stay anywhere is the cleanliness of the room. I don't mind if a place is older, but I want clean. My room was absolutely top notch in cleanliness as well as my sisters. (Kudos to the cleaning staff!!) I was totally amazed at how clean they were. Also, they do not use those stinky, masking sprays during or after they clean, which was a total relief to my allergy nose and my asthmatic lungs. The room is very neutral, no smell, but again....VERY clean. Also, it is the little things in life that can make you smile, such as having a soap dish on the bathroom sink and also in the shower, having a power strip in the room on the nightstand, having a towel rack in the bathroom in addition to the usual hook, a corkscrew supplied, super soft towels, a shower caddy, and tissues within reach almost everywhere (I had 2 boxes in my room and 1 in the bathroom). As a person with allergies, this can be very helpful The bed was very comfy and I had a king bed and it had 6 standard size pillows on it. I had a variation of pillows to choose from, soft, firm and in between. I had no problems finding a pillow to fit my sleeping needs. The internet was fine once I hooked up to the correct one. The cell signal...well you are in Door County after all, so it can be hit or miss. I was able to use my cell phone when I needed to, but the signal varied from place to place on the property. This was not a big thing to me as I usually try to disconnect when I am in DC. I mostly used the internet and phone to communicate with my husband. Oh, and pinterest for crochet patterns. The thing with being near woods is spider webs on the outdoor railings. It is a natural thing, but not something I really want to see. I have been staying in DC for over 30 years and I find this quite a bit. Here, it is rare that you see one and if you do, it is gone within a day or two. Upon my arrival, I was hauling my small cooler up the stairs to my room. I have knee issues so I was taking one step at a time and struggling a bit with the cooler. Their was a cleaning person at the top of the stairs and he asked if he could help me in any way. That gesture was so kind and really was above and beyond his duties. I did not take him up on the offer, but again, it was a very kind offer. As I stayed on the 2nd floor, I had the regular door that faces the back of the property, and a patio door that faces the front of the property. The back door has a screen door so I was able to have the doors open and the breeze flowed through my room very nicely. Each day you get a 'goody bag' at your door. This includes towels, soap, shampoo, facial wipes, coffee, and cups. (I think I remembered everything) I love this idea, but actually I only dipped into 1 of my bags for towels and shampoo. The owner, Gayle is a wonderful person. I got to sit and talk to her for quite awhile by myself one day and she is a great person and is very friendly. My sister and I also had time to chat with her on a couple of occasions, she is down to earth, a good business person and just down right friendly. Gayle is genuinely concerned about her guests and their stay. The property was purchased in Oct 2016, so yes, they are under new management. However, they are very open and accommodating. read more

Made reservation for 2 beds, room only had one. The young man at the desk said no doubles were available and offered a second single-bed room at no additional cost. Checked out 2 nights later, and was charged the cost of both rooms. Instead of absorbing the cost of their own offer, they charged me double for a two night stay. Fine if you're just there to sleep. The staff is really nice and the prices are decent for the area. It is a five minute drive to the actual harbor area. Lots of great restaurants. There is a cafe right next door that we never got to visit. We were checked in and given really cute old fashioned door keys. And we were given a complimentary bottle of wine that serves two glasses. We instantly were hit with a mildew smell in the room. It had rained right before we got there and the floor mat was completely soaked and every time we walked into the hotel room it would make the carpet super wet (or it leaked into the room??). The bathroom was decent sized. It was nice having two separate rooms for the living room to the bedroom but it cut out so much space. It has a studio apartment feel. The bed awful. They put a foam mattress on top of a regular mattress. On top of what appeared to be an ancient box spring. As soon As you crawl into bed you sink instantly and not in a good way. It was hard to move around in and get out of the bed afterwards. Bring your own towels because theirs were decent but I like large towels to wrap up in. It seemed like the hotel staff are all part of a family and they live on the premises. We wanted to wander the grounds and kind of felt like we were intruding onto private property. If you have kids they'd probably love the built in play mates. read more

Recommended a water filter machine on the rear side so guests can refill their own water bottles. -Cranked up the fridge but never heard it come on and it never chilled. -WiFi-Attempt use in an emergency but if you're looking to surf, upload pics and videos, watch some, you may get frustrated. We have always stayed at the Lull-abi when our business brings us to Egg Harbor. It was a nice little hotel with good value. It was always clean and the previous owner had little touches like microwave popcorn, real glasses, extra pillows, a cutting board and knife, and just over the top great customer service. But sadly, there was none of that on our recent (and last) stay at the hotel under the new management. It started with them not giving us the accommodations we reserved. We reserved a total of 5 rooms for our party over the weekend. One of them was the onsite 2 bedroom apartment and we had 4 adults planning to stay there. During our drive up to Egg Harbor on Friday afternoon, management called and said that the building had been hit by lightning the week before and the apartment didn't have cable or air conditioning. We said that's ok, we didn't mind. But the manager said that she couldn't let us have the apartment because not having AC was a liability. She only had one room left and offered it to us at a smaller cost. We weren't thrilled but we took it. It was the tiniest hotel room with the tiniest shower I have ever seen. We had two double beds that were about 2 feet away from each other. It was going to be very tight for 4 adults but we decided to make the best of it. That was only the beginning. Here's a list of issues during our stay. - We had 4 adults in the room and only 2 towels. We had to request more. - The wifi (advertised as free on the hotel sign) didn't work once the entire weekend. - Our TV cable didn't work. - One of the beds had bloodstained sheets. - We killed two bugs in the bathroom. - The shower had two temperatures - scalding hot and ice cold. And it switched back and forth at random. - They didn't service our room on Saturday - even though we requested it. We borrowed a vacuum from a passing housekeeper and did it ourselves. He didn't offer to help us when we asked for the vacuum. - There was no scoop in the ice bin that was shared by the entire hotel. Not very sanitary. And the very final straw was that another two people in our party didn't get a room at all even though they reserved it back in April. Again, they were called on their way up to Egg Harbor. The manager said they overbooked but they made them another reservation but not in Egg Harbor - in Fish Creek, about 15 minutes up the road. This was terribly inconvenient for our party. The Lull-abi manager also incorrectly told them that there was a fireplace in their room and that the Door County trolley stopped at their hotel. After all of that, one person in our party called the manager at the Lull-abi to voice our displeasure. They listed all the problems that I've listed here. During that phone call, we were told by the manager that "they didn't need our business" and "didn't care" if we never stayed there again. Nice! We were lied to repeatedly. We have friends who are locals and they told us that the hotel down the street has neither cable or AC and they somehow operate just fine. There's no liability. And worse? The real reason we couldn't get the apartment is we were told that Lull-Abl management was living there since April! Lull-Abi management denied that anyone was living there and we didn't peek into the windows. But this on top of all the other issues was just too much. Maybe this is just a new management trying to work out the kinks but we don't like being lied to or talked to in such a manner. They said they didn't need our business. That's fine. They have lost ours indefinitely. read more

The Lull-Abi Inn is a great economical choice for Door County. It's conveniently located at the north end of Egg Harbor, and offers just the right amenities for a short stay (free wireless internet, small fridge, table and chairs, tv, coffee pot, etc.). The rooms are very clean, the space is functional, and the beds are comfortable (not luxurious, but not austere...kind of like at Grandma's house). I stayed in their most economical room (the "value room") on a Saturday at the very beginning of the on-season. The hotel was far from capacity and the downtown was lacking it's usual level of activity, so I didn't really have a lot to assess. I only stayed one night and didn't venture out beyond the 5 minute walk to downtown Egg Harbor, but from past experiences in Door County this seems like a fairly inexpensive way to enjoy the peninsula and all of its offerings. read more

3.5 Stars. The prices are reasonable, especially since they didn't require a 3-night stay like so many places in Door Co. The rooms were clean for the most part but the ice bucket had mildew under the lid. Ew. The gal at the front desk was super friendly! Good location in general. Convenient (and free) parking. The mattress was kinda weird like it was overinflated and caused ya to lay with your head lower than your feet so we had to sleep other-way-round. It is reminiscent of a 60s Travelodge. Not an awesome place, but certainly fine for our purposes as casual tourists so would stay again. read more

Lull-Abi....ahhh......I am usually not very fond of play-on-words business names and have been known to make relentless fun of them. You know....the French way. But since Lull-Abi was a nice, unexpected surprise I will stay nice and forget their onamastic mistake. (Difficult word of the week in my Yelp reviews. Check the definition at http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/onomastic) We stayed there two nights, and I don't have any single complain. The room was on the bigger side, with a view of the lake, a small balcony, a nice shower, plenty of storage and cable TV. The bed was acceptable (we are not at The Four Seasons, or even at the Westin) and I loved the fact that they respected our privacy sign during the day (We had left our computers, cameras, chargers and all our stuff out and didn't want it to be messed with. Get your mind out of the gutter gents). We got a pretty good deal because of our extended stay. This is definitely the way to go. The hotel is just a little outside Egg Harbor 'center', on the way to Fish Creek. Next door to Village Cafe. It's convenient, and pretty central to the whole peninsula. Highly recommended to savvy travelers. read more

This is one of the most reasonable motels in Door County. The location is good - a short walk from downtown Egg Harbor with its restaurants, shops, and harbor; and next door to the Village Café, which is amazing - and it's right on Highway 42. The rooms are a nice size and meticulously clean. There are just as many amenities as there should be: we appreciated the fridge (for cheese and beer!) and free wireless internet, in particular. We also liked that the room had a small table and chairs. Plus, they sell good Wisconsin beer in the lobby, and provide tons of brochures for local attractions in the room and downstairs. We had nothing but good experiences with the owners. We had a minor maintenance problem, which was dealt with immediately. They gave us some really good restaurant recommendations. Most amazingly, I forgot my jacket in my room, and they returned it. At most hotels, you'd be transferred to eighty million people and leave thirty thousand messages before you ever found out what happened to your lost stuff (if you ever found out at all). The Lull-Abi e-mailed me about it the next morning (before I even noticed it was missing), and shipped it out the next day. This is a really good spot, with friendly and knowledgeable owners and a great price for the location and amenities. read more

This is a good place and very reasonably priced. The communication was very fast. I needed to change my room and had updated confirmation within 2 minutes of sending the email. Couple of negatives/nuances: 1) You have to pay up front on arrival? 2) I had some friends who had to change rooms as the hotel was full and the owner would not agree to coordinate the cleaning of the two rooms so that they could just move there things, he simply said we have 24 rooms and this is Door County so you should be out doing things anyway!?! What a year makes! Last year was good, this year very poor! We could not use the refrigerator/freezer because the freezer was all frosted. NO ROOM FOR ANYTHING IN THE FREEZER. The bathroom door creaked and cracked and would not close properly without forcing it in place. Needed to sanded down or shimmed. The front Curtains had the handle broken off. And this year costed 50% more than last year. We had a 2 night stay and told the front desk right away. NOTHING WAS DONE on either the refrigerator or the door. The bathroom had NO CURTAIN on the window so the door needed to be closed to block out the morning sun light. The window was on the east side. Told the morning staff on the second day of ther problems too and again nothing was done again. I asked for a refund of 20% to make it right. I thawed out the freezer and cleaned after it in the morning. Waited this morning for the staff to open up the front desk. They were late! Still don't know if they ever opened up. Shows you the incredibly "I DON'T CARE ATTITUDE that the management has! Needs new management and maintenace now! I just checked my credit card and no refund. I WON"T BE BACK! The best part is the Wifi connection automatically connects--I hate wrestling with sign-ins at hotels every time I try to log in. The only reason I gave it a four is because there was some uncomfortable stain on one of our bedspreads. Just made me wonder how often they get washed. read more

I had my first stay at the Lull-Abi Inn this weekend and it most definitely won't be my last. My sister and I went up to Door County for a girl's weekend and found this unexpected gem in Egg Harbor. Bruce was so friendly upon our arrival and was very helpful with dinner suggestions. The room was perhaps one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in, and this is something I am very picky about. Our room was very nice with a refrigerator, microwave, king bed in a separate room and a nice big balcony. They even thought of the little things like having a bottle opener, cutting board, and a knife! We had one issue with our room, but when I explained it to Bruce the next morning, he immediately righted the wrong and it is because of the way he handled this issue that I will definitely be back to the Lull-Abi Inn any time I am in Door County and will recommend it to friends. Clearly, they pride themselves on quality customer service and comfortable accommodations if you take the time to read through the other reviews here and on trip advisor. A great place to stay at an affordable price. read more

Nice overnight stay in Egg Harbor. You can explore the whole Door while stashing your stuff and exploring down the Door. Rooms were nice, very clean, had a slight view of the lake from room 23. Great stay, friendly guy Bruce to take care of things. Oh, and I liked that you took care of the bill at the beginning, your already technically charged anyway when making a booking, so this just speeds the process to get you on your way. Lull-Abi Inn ruined our vacation - cancelled our confirmed reservation day before our stay Booked a stay with the Lull-Abi Inn through their own website, received confirmation. The day before our stay, we received an email stating our reservation had been cancelled. I immediately tried calling the Lull-Abi believing they had made a mistake, only their "messaging service" (live person) answered and said he would relay the message to have them call me back. Told them I needed a call me back immediately because we are planning to travel up to Door County the next morning. After not receiving a call back in a couple hours, I called again and the messaging service said they relayed my message to the Lull-Abi - I didn't receive a return call that day. I tried calling at 8:00 am the next day (the day our stay was supposed to begin), again only the messaging service answered and they confirmed my messages had been relayed to the Lull-Abi and I should receive a call "today" from Gail. Said that I needed an immediate call back as we were planning to start driving to Door County in a couple hours. Still, no one called me back. If you want to have your vacation plans turned upside down by finding out your reservation was cancelled the day before your stay with just an email notice (no phone call) - make a reservation with the Lull-Abi Inn. They clearly don't manage their reservation system well, overbook their rooms and could care less about their guests (never returned my phone calls). I couldn't regret more making a reservation with the Lull-Abi Inn. My wife and I took off work for this stay and ended having to stay home. read more

I would love to give the Inn the benefit of the doubt however my experience was not a good one. A few friends and I booked a room for a weekend in October at the Lull-Abi Inn in August. The day we were scheduled to check in, the owner called and said that the Inn was overbooked somehow. When we did arrive, she gave us an option: claim our room at the Inn (which, even though it was overbooked, our room was still available?) or stay at a motel she'd booked for guests. The second option was cheaper and the owner seemed stressed, so my friends and I got back in the car and drove to Bailey's Harbor which we should NOT have done. Our weekend didn't suffer extremely from the unsatisfactory conditions of the motel in Bailey's Harbor, but it definitely was a disappointment. The owner at Lull-Abi Inn was very nice about the situation and I do understand that sometimes these things happen (and WE chose to switch accommodations). I would have liked to experience the Inn, however, after all the confusion, I don't feel that it is a reliable place to stay. I'm glad for those who have had good experiences there. My wife and I stay at the Lull-Abi Inn when we visit Egg Harbor. We love the friendly atmosphere at the Inn. Bruce, Gail and their staff make our stay very pleasant. Every room we have tried has been wonderful. The amenities are numerous. We especially like the hot tub which helps us get relaxed after the grueling 6 hour trip from Minneapolis. read more

This Inn was a definite treat that paid attention to small details. The price was right and the owners are Great! For less than we'd pay anywhere else the King Jr suite had a bar sink by the refrig and micro with a dish towel, wine opener and other utensils. The bathroom even had a full size air freshner can and single use make-up removers. The room was clean, comfortable and within walking distance to good food and shopping all at a great price! This is our favorite place to stay in Door County when the family's condo is full! It's by far the cleanest motel we have ever stayed at. The owner and his staff work their butts off and it shows. The place has a laid-back feel and the staff couldn't be friendlier. The location is great and we could even see the lake from our room. If you're looking for a clean and reasonably priced motel with shops and great dining within walking distance, Lull-Abi Inn is the place. read more
