Garbage had been here for most of the day
    Justin B.

As you may see in previous reviews, I've done me and my family for the better part of 30 years have always stated High Point in which is a sister hotel located in Ephraim. We originally wanted to stay at that hotel, but unfortunately booked too late and therefore tried this property for the first time. it resembles many different characteristics of Highpoint in, but for some reason, lacks the charm. The rooms were very clean and were upgraded from carpeted floors to hardwood floors, which was a huge plus. The entranceway is not as decorated as the Highpoint in but the property is much larger and perhaps that may be a reason why. The issues that I experienced were minimal but still significant enough not to give them a five out of five. Issue number one was that at $400 a night when asking for four or five towels daily the receptionist went out of her way to let my mother know that as a family, we utilize too many towels. I think was an unnecessary comment especially when you're paying this dollar amount. My second issue is that the garbage outside near the front entranceway was rarely changed and usually overflowing in many different instances throughout our five day stay. Lastly, one of the doors in our suite clearly had water damage which was unpleasant to look at, but outside of this was very clean and very pretty. if given an option, we probably would stay at the High Point in. We would be willing to come back again as the property and the staff were friendly enough and clean enough. One other annoyance that I noticed was that during the day the hotel staff congregated during break times in the ping-pong room and in particular housekeeping staff. I totally understand needing a break. There should be a break room or an area of the hotel that the staff go to play on their phones and not in front of guests.

Nice hotel in Sister Bay, WI. Friendly staff and conveniently located. All rooms are privately owned and rented out during the year by the hotel. Full kitchens with 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms. Spacious living room and private patio. You can easily stay in these for long term stays. They have everything you need and include daily maid service. Not your typical time-share property. Hotel features an indoor/outdoor pool with hot tub. A nice lounge area and free WiFi in every room. Cheers!

The variety of breakfast is a little lacking, but it is a small operation. Our suite was a bit funky, as you walked in through one king bedroom to get to the Living area. There was another king bedroom that was lofted and both have their own en suite bathrooms with a fabulous shower, set up, with a regular head, range, showerhead, and three body sprays. There was an issue one night, where there was a constant clicking, and being a musician. I measured it with my metronome, it clicked 42 time per minute. The manager and this person went on the roof themselves to try to discover the problem, along with her HVAC service, and found the issue, comping us one entire day. We will definitely try to stay at the same resort on our next trip, and will try to book far enough in advance to get the penthouse suites!

Dorr is a lovely, comforting, modern hotel with the hot trendy Scandinavian vibe that's all the rage right now. Their open lobby is like a living room in a big beautiful home or lodge. Cozy fireplace with a bar on one side. Grab coffee or tea any time of day or night and relax by the fire, or engage in a jigsaw puzzle or game with your kids. The best part is that the location couldn't be more convenient. You can easily walk to shops, restaurants and the beach right across the street! The harbor is right there too so you can hop right over for your boating adventures. Chop, the steak house right next door is literally steps away. Famous Al Johnson's is a quick stroll (which is important to note since that place usually will form a line out the door early that lasts all day). We also enjoyed shopping, ice cream after dinner, bowling on rainy days, and Lure, the seafood restaurant (similar to Chop with emphasis on sea). Plus it's an easy drive into Ephraim, Fish Creek or Egg Harbor to enjoy what the other towns have to offer as far as shopping or dining. (I think Fish Creek has the best shopping. While my husband and sons are boating, that's my jam!) The hotel rooms all come with balconies or patios. There's a nice open courtyard with a fire table to enjoy later, or at happy hour (Chop next door has a happy hour, but so does the hotel bar). I think it would be cool if they brought a rolling bar outside for happy hour on the patio...Chop might not like that tho. The hotel rooms are padded with modern comforts one expects these days. Unless you or someone you know owns a cabin up here (which can be great too), why bother to stay somewhere else?

They have a great location atop a hill on main thoroughfare Highway 42, and a short 5 minute walk away from the heart of Sister Bay's vibrant commercial strip.  They are also a relative good value and get bonus points for having an English theme.  Having had many memorable and pleasant stays in the UK, any place that takes me back is a plus, and this place did that to a degree.   The owner and innkeeper Mike was at the desk when we arrived.  He's my kind of guy - a friendly Brit with a sense of humor.  When I said we had a party of 2 for 1 night, he dryly replied "Oh, but we have you for a party of 1 for 2 nights". As I rolled my eyes, he broke out into a chuckle, ha.  He's a native of Portsmouth, England and has owned and run this nice property for 25 years.  The 2-story property is homey, inn-like and not hotel-like, nicely and quaintly decorated in English style, and has a bar and several cozy sitting areas.  There's a 24 hour complimentary bean grinding coffee machine and the bar works on a self service guest honor system.  A swimming pool is also available in the back for those interested.  The included breakfast is comprised of a large and delicious selection, and their particularly delicious almond Danish pastry was more pie like and quite distinctive.  Each room has a name (ours was #104, the Winchester) and a small patio and it was comfortably laid out.   I really want to give this place 5 stars particularly for its location and value and theme but will have to hold back to 4 stars.   The reasons being that I didn't get a great sleep because 1) the pillows were too spongy and soft for me, 2) the king bed was a bit soft and bouncy, and 3) the wall A/C was quite loud when it kicked on briefly and frequently.    We may be back someday during the quieter heating season and try a different room (i.e., bed) also.  I may also start bringing my own pillows as my pillow complaint is not uncommon and not aimed just at the Inn here.  I really do like this place and the owner.

First time I stayed was Christmas travel. Called direct to make a reservation. It was Christmas so, He was so nice and waved the pet fee for my two large dogs. We arrived and checked in quite easily. He was helpful, answered all of our questions and gave recommendations. Very nice. On arrival. We went hiking and cove park and White dunes state park and it was cold! Snow storm. Even still, there was a really nice fenced dog area. Quite large really. There was a nice basket for toys and extra leashes, dog bags of course. The dogs loved it! They ran around and jumped on the picnic table in the middle. The room. See pics. I was very surprised. It was quite large, lots of space. Bathroom large. Plenty of space for the dog bowls. Oh wait let me say that there was a basket for pets! Dog bowls, a bag of treats, a bed and a blanket and a beloved tennis ball. So sweet. The bed and bedding was comfy with plenty of pillows. Larger room than usual in my experience. Plenty of entrances and ways to the outdoors, front desk and dog park. It is very welcoming, even during a snowy storm and cold. there are areas with comfy chairs outside with a gas fire pit that is toasty. I was surprised but it was quite nice and warm! We stayed again in January for some ice fishing and the dogs knew right what to do and where their treats and ball were. Throughout the whole hotel, there were pet decorations and just really cozy. Very clean and upkeep was amazing. The property is beautiful. They do have a small amount of wine and beer at the desk, pizza that they can make you if you're stuck in and snacks. Prices are very reasonable and convenient. Oh yeah, there is a really cute, nice pool area. We didn't use it but I would recommend it! Highly recommended! I'm not sure what it'l like in season but I would definitely recommend it in off season! They do everything right at this place. What great planning on a wonderful property!

We stayed in a corner room upstairs. The room was very clean. The inn has two gazebos with comfortable outdoor furniture and yard games. There's also a well-appointed great room with a huge fireplace, comfortable leather furniture and board games for gathering inside with friends. A continental breakfast was served each morning in a dining room where guests have separate tables. The breakfast was not your average continental breakfast. They had several types of delicious pastries that changed each day, fruit, juices, good coffee, hard-boiled eggs, toast, bagels and a meat/cheese plate and a fresh berry yogurt parfait on request. My husband especially liked the pecan pie bars and I enjoyed the blueberry coffee cake, rhubarb muffins and chocolate croissants. We overate daily! We had a minor issue with our AC on day two of our visit. The staff called a technician out immediately and the issue was resolved while we went about our day.
