Wasn't sure what to expect from this place. It's a great location in the heart of egg Harbor. A walkable community with all the conveniences around. Being on the lake is a bonus but in February the point is moot. It was very strange that coffee was not included with the room, but I was told it could be found in the vending machine! This was a major diss satisfier as the hotel lobby. Coffee was very watery and not drinkable for me. We were quite a large party, and it had a nice space for setting up our food up in a loft area above the lobby. Nice pool and whirlpool but with an early checkout time of 10 AM we didn't get to partake. That was disappointing. Asked for a late check out and was given an extra 30 minutes lol this one and done for me. read more

We stayed here for a long weekend in February. We got a single suite. The rooms are nice because they're set up like mini apartments. It is quite spacious, moreso than what some pictures indicate. It's pretty modest, some basic utensils in the kitchen, small electric stove, microwave, sleeper sofa, etc. The TV is very small and old, we ended up watching movies on our computer. Overall the room was dated but pretty clean. Water pressure could be a little better. The heat got hot pretty quick, which is nice in the middle of a Wisconsin winter. If you are in town and spending a lot of your time exploring Door County, this is a nice home base. Excellent location with a few shops and restaurants in walking distance. Check out the Big Easy for breakfast, it's immediately next to the resort. We tried to walk to the Main Street Shops Saturday afternoon but they were all closed. Much of the town is seasonal and we had trouble with places being closed down or shortened hours. The pool was was indoor and they have a heated jacuzzi. I couldn't spend much time in there because the chemicals were making me cough, but my boyfriend enjoyed this amenity. There is no fitness center. Front desk offers free coffee and you can apparently take games to borrow from them, too. We would come back and stay here, it was definitely a reasonable price. However, we probably don't recommend Door County in the dead of winter. read more

The room was great. Lots of sleeping room and a kitchen for a reasonable price. Staff was friendly when they were around, however, they did not staff the front desk past 9pm until around 8 in the morning. The pool closed at 9 and wasn't connected to the rooms. The only ice machine and vending machine was in the main building with the front desk. So a little frustration, but a great price and great room. read more

One of three places we have stayed at in Door County in the past, and probably #1 on account of the free hot apple cider that is always available in the lobby. Very reasonable pricing for our room, which had a kitchenette with stove, oven and microwave, all of which always come in handy when we're on vacation. Bedroom was in the loft above the main living area, with television upstairs and downstairs. Mind you, these are old-fashioned tube TVs, not LCDs, but you know what? That's perfectly okay with us. We like places that are CLEAN, thats our number one priority, and this place makes the grade. They have binders full of DVDs at the front desk, available for two dollars per night. The closest Red Box is in Sturgeon Bay, at either the Wal Mart or the Pick n Save, so $2 isn't so bad, and the selection they keep is pretty current. They also have board games in the loft above the front desk. Walking distance to Egg Harbor shops. Close drive to Lautenbach's Orchard and Winery. All in all, a nice place, if dated, for a good price. read more

Staff was friendly while there. No daily housekeeping. Room was super small. We used the small room for a baby. It's so small we had to move the bed over in order to fit the playpen and be able to close the door. We were then charged for a broken box spring. No one even slept on that bed since we slept on the sofa bed and a blowup mattress. PLEASE make sure you check everything once you arrive in order to avoid charges!!! I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We had a room close to the pool and it was a good size, especially for the money! The only problem we had, which we addressed with staff, was that the indoor pool was obnoxiously loud and boisterous. There was a family in there throwing around a ball, yelling, screaming, running all over, etc... This was just before 10pm too. Otherwise, definitely booking again! read more

We needed a plan B after leaving the lake side of the peninsula due to the swarming mayflies. Happily, we landed at the Landing in Egg Harbor. First of all, no mayflies. It is a resort more than a motel, but our accommodations were just right. We stayed in early May so a lot of the shops and eateries had not yet opened for the season. The folks at the desk are very friendly and helpful, pointing us to the places that were open up and down the peninsula. We had not planned to swim so we didn't bring the suits, but we checked the indoor pool and it looked perfect. Beautiful wooded setting, right next door to an excellent restaurant and just a short walk to the Harbor Park. Plan B turned out to be a great choice. read more

My wife, daughter and I recently stayed at the Landing Resort and were very happy with our stay. The price per night is about average for up in Door county and is conveniently located. There are plenty of shops and restaurants all within walking dist. A small grocery store a block away and the lake is also within walking dist. We stayed in the Flagship loft and found the room to be clean and overall very nice. The kitchenette has a small electric stove/oven so you can easily stay in and cook should you choose. They provide plenty of cook ware as well as ..(drum roll please) a PIZZA CUTTER. WOW.. I know it seems small but its the 1st place I've stayed that included one. (I did not notice if they had a Pizza pan so you may want to bring your own if you plan on cooking pizza) Down side is that there are only 2 backless chairs at the kitchen island so if more people are staying they will have to sit on the couch, chair or balcony. Fridge had plenty of room for us and the dishwasher saved us lots of time. I've read in other reviews about the bathroom being to small. It is tight yes, however the actual bathroom part is separated from the sink area and there is a door that you can close to the sink area so if you really feel that cramped you can just shut the sink area door. For us the smaller bathroom was not that big of a deal and neither of us had issues with closing the door. The loft area was small but it had the essentials, a very nice king size bed, a small dresser on one side of the bed and another that a tv sat on. (Yes the room has 2 tv's 1 on the main lvl and 1 up on the loft). Only thing I would have liked was a dresser on each side of the bed. The pillows were soft and I did have to double up on them. For you picky pillow types you may want to bring your own pillow. The rest of the resort... We didn't explore to much but the lobby and desk area were clean and neat. They have Door County coffee available daily and even have a flavor of the week set up. They also have a Pizza oven for you to use. The staff was courteous and polite and were more than happy to recommend places to eat. They also were nice enough to remind us that most places close a 9 as pretty much everything is family owned. So we were able to plan accordingly. The outdoor pool was closed for the season already so we didn't get to try that out. My wife and daughter did try out the indoor pool and other than a little cool they enjoyed it. Towels are provided and there are chairs around the pool area so you can sit and relax in between dips in the pool and dips in the whirlpool. I would recommend staying here to others and would stay here again. read more

This review would definitely be higher if we didn't have a horrible follow-up call with manager "Rachel" who like the previous yelper (OVER A YEAR AGO) argued with us about our experience but more on that later. This place is not the right place for a young family with children. For the first part, this place doesn't have an elevator nor do you have anyone who can help you with your luggage in case your room is on their 2nd floor. Not a big deal but it would have been nice to know this info. For the second part, their pool is not big at all (it was a tight fit with two families in the pool) so even though the pool is open until 10 PM, it can't handle a lot of people at once. When we called to make reservations at this place, we told them that we had a party of 5 adults and 3 children. They placed us in a room with a loft which wasn't big enough to handle our needs--very limited privacy in the open space rooms. Also, after the pool, we tried to take individual showers (after we bathed the three children together) and the hot water ran out. We tried to speak to a manager on that day (Saturday) but there wasn't any one available--neither on Sunday. So when we contacted The Landing again on Monday, we were informed by the manager Rachel that the 40-gallon tank in the room should have been enough to accommodate our needs. We were also informed that we were never charged for the extra people in our room so that should sufficiently appease the situation and that pretty much was the end of our conversation. So as stated by Mike the previous yelper over a year ago, "the rooms were OK, but the attitude chased us away forever." read more

I have been staying at the "The Landing" every year for the last 24 years. It is clean, and the people are always so nice. We love the Admirals loft because it is big and we have a large family. The prices are fair and the rooms are nice. Again I have to say how clean they always are. 24 years and never a bad thing to say...except it is always bad when we have to leave! read more

Wonderful people, who went above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate us at the last second when our plans were put awry by an unforeseen and unfortunate experience elsewhere. Beautifully designed grounds and suites - with a private alcove facing woods, and curving, leisurely walkways; a few steps' walk from stores, concert venue, and the beauty that is Egg Harbor. We stayed here during the 4th of July week. Is within walking distance harbor almost all the shops and restaurants in town. We very clean and the staff very friendly. The only complaint I had and let the front desk know was that the bed rooms need a ceiling fan as the room air conditioning does not really reach into there. Granted it was unusually hot that week, but the ceiling fan would have made it more comfortable. Free wi-fi and coffee all day is a nice plus. read more

The place is not handicap friendly at all.No carts to bring thing up to room no elevator. Parking is quite a long way from our room on second floor.The room is not cleaned daily only towels change out, The bathroom is so small the door rubs on toilet. The place is very out dated and needs updates. The "bedroom" downstairs was wall to wall bed I had to open bathroom door to step out of bed. The wall outlet sparked and maintenance came up and wiped off the burn mark and said it was damp. Well the floor under the Air cond unit was all wet and had been leaking down the wall so bad the wall was soft. read more

Not baby friendly and thinks low of customers. I frequently heard front desk staff gossiping about others while getting coffee as that is the only place you can get it unless you buy your own in your room. They charge for stupid things that should be free as it costs them nothing such as a local call...I had to call a pharmacy whose number wouldn't work on my cell for some odd reason. The have the lowest grade toilet paper and tissues AND the hangers can't not be removed from the rod to hand cloths easily. They charge $.50 for everything including paper coffee cups. They put fillies with strollers in rooms that you have to use stairs to get to...no elevator. The rooms was big enough for our family but with the amount of inconvenience I wouldn't recommend. We have been staying at The Landing for over 20 years! Many memorable stays with a very accomodating staff and clean accomodations! Yes, it may be somewhat dated but the convienence and updates we have noticed every year and the prices make The Landing our destination every year. If you are looking for upscale and high prices look elsewhere. If you want a secluded setting with nice accomodation located in the heart of Egg Harbor with nice amenities The landing is just fine. read more

I stayed here ten summers in a row. The rooms are absolutely great and very home like. I never want to leave door county every summer because I love the hotel. The outdoor pool is kind of old and lame, but re indoor pool and hot tub are nice. It's nothing too fancy. They have a basketball court north of the pool by the new and improved playground. They also have two basketballs at the front desk for you to use. The lobby is very nice with a coffee stop, a TV, a couple of couches and a recliner, and fire room. The fire room has a couch and a couple of recliners. The resort is open year round so it's designed like a winter hotel. I could go on about the room and game room, but I'll let you stay here and see for yourself. Lovely place! read more

About us: family of 4, late-30s, 2 kids ( 7 & 9 yrs old). The Landing was a pleasant surprise. I hadn't really looked at location, we were just needing a place for one night and this was the only one we could find. The Landing is great for families - an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub, can't beat it! It's close to lots of restaurants and shopping - we walked everywhere while we stayed in Egg Harbor. We had a one bedroom with a pull out sofa for the kids (Spinnaker room #304). My husband does not unpack anything until he thoroughly inspects the room. He tore the bed apart and was impressed by how clean it was and did not spot any sign of bedbugs (they did have a bed bug trap in the bed which made us cringe but I'm thinking its just precautionary). The queen bed was very flimsy and creaked a lot and could def. use an upgrade. The pull out sofa was also clean and of course, uncomfortable but I'm not sure there's such thing as a comfy sofa sleeper. We had really nice customer service and the coffee was plentiful in the morning. The biggest complaint we had was the Wi-Fi was very weak and usually just didn't work at all. For the price - it's great, especially for families and the location. read more
