We were introduced to Ryan through our realtor; this is probably the first time I've left a 5-star review for somebody before they even finished the work: that's how awesome Ryan is. What makes Ryan so great to work with is not just that he's incredibly knowledgeable and competent at his job -- shouldn't all professionals be? -- it's that he's unbelievably decent and goes out of his way to explain the work he needs to do; he suggests alternative, less expensive options; and he tries not to do work that he could easily teach us to do on our own, just to save us money. The point is, working with Ryan feels less like working with a company's employee and more like working with a buddy. But let's cut to the chase: what was the issue here? Simply put, our entire water system at our new home in EDH was about to blow up; you know, minor detail. Our home's water pressure was a whopping 130psi, nearly double the 70psi recommended maximum. Long story short, Ryan prioritized getting to our home immediately -- even though my wife and I are out of town -- and successfully repaired our damaged PRV and pipe before catastrophe struck. (It turns out it was just dumb luck it hadn't already failed!) We also had a leaking kitchen sink pipe; Ryan could have easily gone in the house (we had a lock box) to repair it on the same trip, but he didn't want to get our house all muddy from his repair on the PRV, so instead he decided to go out of his way and return the next day. Wow. Net-net, Ryan's work ethic and expertise are second to none, but more than that, he's just an all around swell guy. Can't wait to work with him in the future -- in fact, we've already talked with him about helping us install some new faucets and (Ryan, I forgot to tell you this!) but also a kitchen sink and disposal unit, too); he has absolutely won the respect and trust of my wife and me for all our future plumbing needs. My bathtub did not drain and there was visible lent from the dryer in the bathtub. The Rooter Guys spent 15 minutes snaking the tub, which did not work. The toilet and sink were fine with output and input of water . R.R. was sure it was not my main line. He charged me 185.00 and left. He wanted 1,050.00 to cut my shower line under the house and add a SAND--T, for he said there was a sharp turn and he hit something hard. The fault of my 45 year old house pipes. He has been working for the company 2 years I called the office later to ask about the high fee and the owners response was he paid in marketing/advertising 200.00 per job. My response was the advertisement was on Craiglist and that was free. The owner backed the appraisal of 1,050 and was going to call me back, which he never did. I paid 185.00 for frustration and bullshit. Today I called Mikes plumbing and he does not charge you if he cant fix it. He ran a snake down my kitchen sink and in 5 minutes it was repaired. The actual work done by the company was good. The single star rating is because their prices are obscene. I had a water leak in the feed to a shower faucet, and it needed to be fixed before I could turn the water back on for the house. The job required the replacement of a three foot section of pipe, and the job took about 30 minutes of work. The flat rate price - which was nonnegotiable - was $507!!! I have no problem with skilled tradespeople earning a decent living, but $1000 per hour for an exceedingly simple plumbing repair is outrageous. Never again will I use this company's services. I would rate them 100 stars if I could.  They were prompt in coming to our house, they did the job efficiently, they were very polite and explained what they were doing, they were extremely neat and cleaned up after themselves. The way you handle a problem is often times worse than the problem itself. The Rooter Guys failed to clean my sewer lateral all the way to the mainline drain as is required in the City of Davis. This policy varies from municipality to municipality but it is quite clear in their written policy. If a company is going to do work in a place it is their responsibility to be up on the local codes. They got the sewer flowing again by pushing their camera into the roots and loosening things up but because they didn't rooter it out at the connection and the problem will be coming back sooner than later. The City of Davis confirmed this diagnosis. How they handled this was to basically promise to have the technician call (he never did) and then ignore me when I called (I assume caller ID) and never returning messages. In other words they handled it horribly. Its been nearly a month now and I am going to have to call out another service to complete the job they should have done correctly in the first place. read more

Absolute worst service, communication and lack of proper tools for the job we requested. As always, as these things happen, our drain backed up on a Friday night. Saturday morning I submitted a referral request through Angie's List for a plumber to snake our line. Within 2 minutes of hitting the submit button they were quick to respond and schedule a time to come by and help us out. Our time block was between 11a-1p, the technician didn't arrive until after 3:30pm with zero communication from anyone. I had called, left a message and sent text to find out the status. After the guy arrives, he snakes our drain, has us flush our toilet once and declares us fixed. This was after my husband told him to be sure to use a cutting head because we do have a root issue that we haven't been able to get fixed yet. The technician said he didn't have the cutting head, but all looked good. Immediately after he left, my husband went to take a shower and everything was backed up again. I called them back at once and left a message. Did not receive any call back. I placed another call the next morning plus a text message. I received a message back that someone would be out that day. Had to wait over an hour to get a time block just for when someone would be there. We were told 2p-4p, fine, we headed out to shower elsewhere to feel a bit more human then back to the house to wait. At 5pm no one had shown up, I sent another message, no answer, 6p, sent another text, no answer. Finally at about 6:30pm a technician comes by, snakes our drain once then leaves without saying ANYTHING! No test flush, no information, no nada! On top of everything else, he somehow made it worse. This company is quick to sign you up for service but have no training for their staff on communication and customer service. As far as their abilities, well, I sit here waiting for another plumber to come and hopefully fix what they were unable to do with 2 half-assed visits. read more

These guys sold us a water heater that we didn't need, didn't ensure it was working before they left and didn't install it up to code. We had to have the manufacture come out to evaluate the problem and they were appalled at how it was installed. This included name, address and payment info. The thief dumped everything and I came across the huge pile of garbage while out walking. In order to have all the plumbing cleaned paid $550.00, after a week when they said they camera'ed the lines and they were all clear, drain backed up, they came out again and said there was a break in a pipe. SCAM??? Called three other companies and they came out and found a clog in the pipe between the kitchen and bathroom. If they camera'ed the pipes wouldn't they have know about the clog???
