    Ahi tuna nachos
    Stephanie S.

Had a great dinner tonight here. Our server came right over and took our drink order. I had the Forget Me Not cocktail, with blueberry vodka, crème de violette, lemon syrup and soda. We decided to split two apps and a dinner. We had no idea how copious the appetizers would be and also very delicious. The ahi tuna nachos were perfectly fried wonton crisps with avocado, ahi tuna sashimi, wakame, wasabi cream and furikake. The duck flatbread was served like a pizza and we decided to take some home versus stuff ourselves. The steak was a perfect medium rare, served with a chimchurri, broccoli rabe, and roasted fingerling potatoes. The vegetables were properly seasoned, but I could have used more salt in the chimchurri. All in all an excellent meal, great service, with a beautiful vista. I'll definitely come here again.

Beautiful garden and mountain view. Relaxing atmosphere, good service, reasonable price, and excellent food. It is most likely the best restaurant in the area. 5* compare to other restaurants in the area. 3*Duck flatbread: the duck was cooked really well, juicy, tasty, and soft. It came on a tasty flatbread with cheese and pesto sauce, the flavor wasn't was well balanced with each bite. 3* Avocado Chickpea salad: a fresh and well crafted salad, unique composition and the ingredients complimented each other well.

We're staying at Topnotch for a "minimoon" & have had two dinners and one room service breakfast at The Roost. Keep in mind, the resort itself is very pricey so this restaurant reflects that. That being said, the food was fresh and service was great. Only reason I wouldn't give five stars is that despite the average clientele here being rather affluent (we're not, this was gifted to us), for what they're charging for food they could make the portion sizes slightly bigger. Also we were disappointed with breakfast - we spent almost $100 & it wasn't worth it. The avocado toast lacked flavor & avocado, & the fruit "bowl" was the size of a cup. The dinner experience, however, was much better. Our first night we ate at the bar & the bartender was very attentive & our food came out fast. The ahi tuna nachos were my favorite item I tried, however again - for the steep price it needed more tuna. There was very little, the majority of the plate was the wonton chips, ratios could've been better. It was delicious & would get again but would opt for the appetizer portion. My husband had the roost burger two nights in a row because it was so good! The second night we were seated & the service was just as fast. The Korean flavored wings were delicious and crispy, and I enjoyed my fish tacos. Nothing to write home about but they were good! The triple berry tart was yummy however the dough was slightly undercooked. The tacos & burgers are more reasonably priced for someone visiting here who may have been gifted the stay & isn't used to spending so much on a night out. Overall if we were to visit again I'd definitely come back!!

    Thanksgiving Buffet

I came here recently with my family for Thanksgiving so I can only speak to the Thanksgiving buffet we had for dinner. First of all, this resort is amazing, the views are stunning. Super warm, cozy, everything you expect to see in a lodge/hotel/resort in Stowe, and the atmosphere of this restaurant is nothing less. In terms of the food I had from the buffet, everything was delicious. The carving station with turkey and short rib were so good. The mashed potatoes were my favorite~ very garlicy and had a nice texture. The stuffing was a little cold but I still enjoyed it. And the ravioli was filling and delicious as well. $75 per person for the buffet I thought was asking quite much...but I mean, it was Thanksgiving and the food at least was worth it. Would love to come back here when it's warm to sit outside and try their actual menu!

A little pricey but so worth it. Had a lovely birthday celebration. That staff was all super attentive and incredibly friendly. Make it an overnight and treat yourself to a spa treatment.

If u r willing to eat overpriced mediocre food this is the place. I ordered the Cesar salad with shrimp And ended up paying 33$ for lettuce soacked in lots of mayo and 3 shrimps. Tasted like mayo spread on lettuce. The menu says the salad has anchovies , did not see any unless i m blind. Plus, it was served with an attitude

The prices are high but I personally think it's worth it for the food and drink. We went on a Sunday evening and Carlos was our waiter. He was extremely attentive and polite! We LOVED the charcuterie board, I'll think about it often. My husband and I both got the skirt steak and it was also really good, steak cooked perfectly at medium rare. I know there are mixed reviews here but from my experience I would definitely recommend it.

Food was good, as it should; place was clean, while on the scene; new addition was nice, like cassias spice! Now for service if you please: Summer was warm, kind, and gentle like a sincere summers breeze, yet spacey as a moon-shot, some do believe; Nick was slow as far as everyone else goes, but Olenka, with coffee, was great on the scene. All-in-all we were very pleased and will return someday unseen.

Brian, mixologist, will rock your cocktail! We had paper plane and espresso martini tonight.

$18 cheese plate and they charge extra for bread. Absurd. An otherwise nice spot, but that's just dumb.

Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. From the moment we sat down, the attitude from behind the bar set the tone in the worst way. The older woman tending bar was openly dismissive, rolled her eyes at simple questions about the menu, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her every time we ordered a drink or asked for something basic like water or silverware. No greeting, no smile, and zero effort to be even minimally polite. At one point she dropped drinks in front of us without a word and walked away before we could even ask for what was missing. It's a shame, because the kitchen clearly cares, but the experience at the bar completely overshadowed how good the food was. If ownership ever addresses the front-of-house attitude, this could be a fantastic place, but until then, be prepared for excellent plates paired with some truly miserable service.

A Masterclass in Deception. Do Not Be Fooled by the 4.5 Stars…read more My wife and I came here expecting a special dinner based on glowing reviews. What we got was a textbook tourist trap with a view. Yes, the setting is gorgeous. Vermont mountains in the distance, open-air ambiance, cozy lighting. But once the food hits the table, the charm dies fast. I ordered the grilled chicken. What arrived was three thin slices of poultry on a puddle of sauce, garnished with a few microgreens. It looked more like a sample than a $44 entrée. My wife's "Gnudi" was overpowered by a bitter green sauce, rubbery in texture, and she couldn't finish it. I ended up eating both meals just to feel like I had dinner, but left still hungry. We ended up grabbing pizza afterward because we felt completely ripped off. The bill? $80 before tip. For what amounts to two appetizers. No drinks, no dessert, no extras. To add insult to injury: they charge you $25 per person if you cancel a reservation. That should have been our first red flag. This restaurant survives off its view and inflated reputation. The food is nowhere near the quality or portion size you'd expect at this price point. The 4.5-star rating is wildly misleading and risks conning more travelers like us. We left upset, unsatisfied, and shocked that this place gets away with calling itself fine dining. Save your money and your evening. Go somewhere that cares more about the plate than the patio.
