At 7:30am, there was already people lining up and ordering for breakfast. Hot chocolate - my LO said it was yum. It even comes with marshmallows! Additionally, you can request Kids TEMP. TYSM. Huckleberry puree in americano - This was a very refreshing combination in coffee. I would get it again! Caramel latte - a good latte. Cheddar scallion biscuit - wow, this one is delicious and such a buttery savory choice! Croissant - buttery and flaky. Strawberry Rhubarb croissant - the acid and sweetness goes so well with the buttery flaky pastry. Morning Glory muffin - almost like a bran muffin, a nutritious pick. We would definitely come back in the future.

Space was limited so we elected to grab and go. A glass case displaying the baked good let you know that the selection of treats is vast. A blueberry and carrot cake type muffins were ordered from a middle age lady with a snippet attitude. Customer service is not one of her strong suits. The large muffins were packed with flavor and not over-sweet. The base of BOTH muffins were over-cooked, dry and stuck to the bottom wrapper. Persephone Bakery makes a large variety of good tasting baked goods. The dry and overcooked base sometimes happens. It was just a lack of attention at a vital step during the process. I hope you give Persephone Bakery a chance as they do know know about tasty treats. Perhaps the lady at the counter can find a job that better suits her snotty attitude.

I have been past this establishment many times have never been until today. When I walked in the store was clean and bright but nobody greeted me. There were prices for such items as coffees and sandwiches but I did not see any prices for pastries and the labels detailing what the pastries are were faded and illegible. I was extremely surprised that a single bread roll costs $4 like I understand this is Jackson but that is just robbery. My pastry was also dry and there was nothing special about it. Even at the cash register nobody asked me how my day was going they just said "is that it? I wish I had felt more welcomed and had a better experience because I like supporting small businesses but I wish my experience was better.

We were in Jackson for 4 days and we found ourselves in The Bread Basket 3 times. It's a Mexican bakery and we tried just about everything in the cases. We bought a bunch to take home with us and share too. Everything was so delicious. My favorite was the flakey pastry with spiced apple filling. They don't skimp on the filling! It was perfect. We also brought home a bunch of tamales, oh my gosh, they are sooo good try the Salsa Verde con Pollo. Spicy deliciousness. Because everything in the national parks were closed, if you're going to be in the park all day you must bring your own food. We ordered their sandwiches for one of our Yellowstone trips. (BTW Yellowstone was virtually empty of people, see my review for Yellowstone for more info). The sandwiches were gourmet wonderful. I ordered the turkey with pesto, brie and dried cranberries on a fresh ciabatta type bread. Perfect. The staff is friendly, the shop is clean.
