I came here for a friend's wedding last night. It was really nice. They have a moat which wraps around the building in the front. Not sure if it leads around the back. It was a rainy day and by the time we left the water level had risen. The entrance has a valet with overhead protection. As one walks across the bridge they're greeted in the vestibule and led across the foyer to a welcome table. Beyond the lavish staircase is the coat check and then a clean corridor to another set of doors to the right. Bathrooms available to one's left and kitchen/catering to the right. At the very end of the hall on the left was a door leading to a grand space with a full bar and cocktail hour amenities. Across from the bar on your left are more doors that open into a beautiful room with a view of a fountain and a round ballroom dancefloor. A gorgeous chandelier drapes over the center. The food served was delicious. Better for the mains than the cocktail hour in my opinion. The DJ was loud but not overly so. My ears aren't ringing! I had a lovely time here in honor of Kevin and Annabelle. The venue is grand but not too grand, well kept and clean, and it has a moat! Wouldn't mind returning for another event in the future. I attended a wedding here and the venue was spectacular. There were a number of water fountains and gardens present throughout the exterior. The service was solid after the cocktail hour. Regarding the cocktail hour, there was tons of food ranging from tacos to a raw bar to sliders to a pasta bar. My favorite were probably the sliders. The food as a whole was okay. The jambalaya portion was not great, seemed a little off to me and the penne vodka had string beans or asparagus, which was a little odd. The oysters and seafood salad were fresh as well as the fruit salad. Overall, the food at the cocktail hour was decent. For a starter at the actual reception, the mozzarella, mushroom, and tomato salad were presented. The presentation was wonderful, and the taste was very good. For an entrée, the filet mignon was ordered. It came with a reduction of madeira wine, shallots, and truffles. The steak was ordered medium and it was cooked a little longer, but not a big deal. It was tasty regardless. For dessert, there was the cake and a Viennese table. The cake was very moist. The icing was a little underwhelming, but overall, solid. The Viennese table was unbelievable. There was an ice cream bar, pies, rice krispies, 2 fondue sets, etc. There was just a ton available here. Will I go back? Definitely. read more

There are not enough words to say how wonderful the Rockleigh is!!! We booked our wedding at the Rockleigh over 2 years ago and enjoyed every part of the planning process with them. Jeff and Natalie worked with us and they were the absolute best! They made us feel stress free and took care of everything!! On the day of our wedding, we were treated like royalty! I I had staff with me all day taking care of me and making sure nothing went wrong. Not only were we treated like royalty our guests were too! The entire staff was so wonderful in taking care of our guests. My dad never needed to get up. Everything was brought to him. My husband and I never had an empty drink in our hands. Not to mention the beauty of the property. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking, and ballroom was stunning. Weddings appear to be moving more inland and I don't mind, The Rockleigh is living proof of that. Far enough from the city, but close enough to Jersey and Connecticut for easy access around the tri-state. Surprisingly huge space, with a great outdoor terrace to fit two of our large families. WATCH OUT for the B team on Sunday afternoon. Organized a 50th Wedding Anniversary for family this past weekend. Lovely decor, ice sculptures, wide variety and elegant array of tasty selections at the carving station, seafood table, cheese corner and vodka shot bar for cocktail hour. Solid main course and passable dessert- cake would have been best if completely cooked through without the half baked segments. All that aside, we were enjoying the event and then completely surprised at the removal of furniture with workmen pulling up parts of the carpet by the event main bar- DURING the middle of our celebration of the event, IN FULL VIEW of our guests. Really?!? How is this professional? This section of space was included for use during our event and we could not fathom why seats and tables were being taken away, leaving our guests fresh from the main bar with drinks in hand, looking to sit but left standing in confusion while we apologized and looked for the manager in charge. My Husband spoke with the manager who apologized. He had the workers flip back into place the carpet segments that had been torn up from the floor and replace tables and chairs for use. The bar staff who we had been receiving heavy tips from guests and family, looked on with shocked expressions. They seemed to be the only staff fazed. The rest of the staff had gone along with the furniture removal and pulling up of the carpet. After the event, my Husband asked me about the rest area servicing during the event, as he had used the mens rest room upon arrival and it smelled like an elevator with five guys all on a high-protein diet. I mentioned that the ladies room had definitely been serviced during the event but hadn't noticed the mens, which he said still smelled revolting on his stop before leaving as it had earlier that day. Perhaps men are just scarier in the rest area but given the flagrantly unsuitable management we had witnessed by the main bar, behind closed doors would likely match. read more

We had my brothers wedding here and the services were amazing... so many waiters to help with everything, the place was breathtaking and every corner you wanted to take a picture in front of. They even set up a prayer room since we are Muslim. They had suites ready for the bride and her family. Had some drinks and appetizers upon arrival for the family. We had a menu of fish, steak, or chicken. I got the fish and I finished my entire plate! Classy Place tucked in the wooded area of North Jersey! Went here for a wedding. The place is really in the cut, practically in upstate NY! But what a place! The front entrance has a beautiful foyer that is timeless and classic. They cocktail hour room was held in one of their smaller rooms. The food was pretty delicious and the staff was friendly and nice. I really enjoyed the pasta stations and the sushi! The ballroom was just as classy as the foyer and was beautifully decorated. Lots of crystal and lights! Very pretty. The couple had slightly over 100 guests and it didn't feel too big or too small. They had room for a photobooth in the corner of the room. I had a vegetarian option and when I didn't finish my meal, I was able to take it home! Sweet! We had a great time dancing and partying with all our friends. Such a great place! Attended family wedding 6/14/24. As elegant & elaborate it was, the Rockleigh failed miserably in being prepared for the expected storm approaching. Power kept going in-&-out for the first few hours, delaying wedding ceremony there for 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Guests waited in entrance lobby during that entire time, standing, with only wine & champagne offered. Mini bottled waters were finally offered after almost 1 1/2 hours waiting. Management should have had staff quickly bring in some chairs for those who were older/physically challenged. No announcements were made. If management needed help, surely many physically strong guests would have been happy to help in order to keep to somewhat of a schedule. The scheduled 7:30pm Cocktail Hour was spent with guests still waiting & standing in lobby, with no air conditioning due to the power outage, & no lighting, where candles were finally brought in. Many guests went outside to feel cooler air. It took my husband to complain to staff to start taking/serving Open Bar orders, as this was technically already 1-hour past the Cocktail Hour. The already prepared Cocktail Hour appetizers weren't even offered during the long delay. (Surely the cold appetizers could have been quickly placed on serving platters for staff to bring out to the lobby). Once power was restored, everything was then rushed. Scheduled group family photos had to be eliminated. The scheduled 6:30pm Ceremony was rushed at approximately 9:00/9:30pm. The Cocktail Hour followed immediately, approximately 10:30pm. Reception immediately followed approximately 11:30pm. We were sitting down to dinner at 12:00am (as opposed to the scheduled 8:30pm). The scheduled shuttle buses back to hotel had to be rescheduled to 1:30am. (Feeling exhausted, some of us left before wedding cake/dessert/coffee-tea were even served). Why such an elaborate venue doesn't have a backup generator is a mystery to me, especially @ $400pp for a Friday evening wedding. I read that the Rockleigh had a fire during Summer 2022, starting with the boiler. All functions that evening & weekend, including weddings, were postponed. Let's hope the management makes this up to them! read more

The Rockleigh blew it out of the water in every way possible, and then some. It would literally take me an hour to write out in detail how incredible everything was, so my wife and I have decided on some key points and honorable mentions :) Our coordinator and contact at the Rockleigh, Bari - attentive, patient, thoughtful, insightful and an overall incredible person. We could not have done it without her and are forever grateful for everything she did for us throughout the planning process. Our maitre'd, Anthony - not a single thing happened without him making sure it happened PERFECTLY throughout the evening. Organized, attentive and incredibly detail-oriented. Our night could not have gone smoother and our guests felt the same way. Our bridal attendants, Daniella and Anna - just incredible. From start to finish, they made sure everyone in the bridal party was tended to and had whatever they needed. They were seconds away at all times and never failed to surprise us with their thoughtfulness and attentiveness. THE FOOD WAS STELLAR ON ALL COUNTS. More than you could ever ask for, indescribably decadent, and an absolute highlight of the evening. The service by all staff - and yes, I mean all staff down to the valet - was impeccable. Our guests are still raving about how attentive their servers were, how thoughtful the support staff was, and how organized the entire staff was. The level of teamwork at play at the Rockleigh is outstanding. Without a doubt, one of our best wedding decisions was having it at the Rockleigh. Sitting here trying to enjoy a wedding. We ordered the filet mignon and were let down when the food came out ice cold. The steak was tough and felt like it was refrigerated before coming out. Everyone at our table agreed the food was ice cold. When the servers started collecting plates we realized that lots of people didn't eat their food. We asked around and we're saddened to learn that most of the tables surrounding us didn't enjoy their meal and complained of the dishes being cold. The venue is beautiful. There's a colorful fountain outside the ballroom that's very soothing to look at. There are a few small tables and a piano placed right outside the door so that guests can enjoy the view and lounge to the side of the room, where the party is actually taking place. The shape of the main ballroom is peculiar. Think of a letter L but sideways... So when the bride and groom enter the main door, they're actually approaching the guests from the back and making their way in to the dance floor (as oppose to walking in center). Besides this, the room is very big and the lighting is great for pictures. There is a bar at the back and the servers make really good cherry cokes! The food is fantastic! Everything from the starter salad to the apple crust dessert was phenomenal. I was seriously thinking about asking for a side of mashed potatoes. Credits to the kitchen workers! The major concern that I have, and I'm not sure if this would necessarily apply to the Rockleigh , is the dark long road way people have to take in order to get to this venue. I took the parkway and made my way through local roads. I had to have my headlights on the whole time. It's really hard to see while driving. Kinda scary too:/ read more

Where to begin!?? My husband and I just got married at The Rockleigh this past Friday and are still on cloud nine from such an amazing night. We had never been to an event there before, but from the moment we walked in to check it out, we fell in love. Of course we had heard such amazing things about it but to actually experience it was a whole other level! We were treated like royalty all night and did not have to worry about a thing- just enjoyed ourselves and the beautiful night with our closest family & friends. We worked with Zara and her assistant Stephanie who were sooo helpful getting everything in place for the big day. We hit a little bump in the road when we had to postpone our wedding a whole year because of covid but everything ended up working out perfectly. The night of our wedding, all of the staff was incredible and super helpful. Colon was our maitre d' and we loved him! Gloria, who also helped us all night, was an absolute angel. She was always ready to help us throughout the night whether it was to get us food, drinks, help with my bustle, down to small gestures like having my lipstick & gloss ready for me right before our entrance. It is rare to hear of a bride & groom getting to try all of the food but we sure did! Thanks to the staff. All of our guests were raving about how much food there was and how delicious it was. The cocktail hour at the wedding had every imaginable food station you could think of from sushi, lamb chops, oriental, Italian, pasta and I could go on and on. The dinner was equally delicious. In the warmer weather the gardens are open for the cocktail hour and it is so beautiful. They have their own parking lot and with valet during an event. We were at the Rockleigh recently for a wedding. The venue and property are simply stunning. The evening wedding began with a cocktail hour in a large hall, just inside the entrance. Note that the venue seems to be split into two parts, each identical with its own entrance, entrance hall and two separate dining rooms. The two parts meet again at the back of the facility on either side of a large pool with fountains, gardens and gazebo-like structure. The venue seems to have a close partnership with a nearby Residence Inn, as the hotel provided complimentary shuttle to the Rockleigh and knew exactly which entrance to take us. Servers walked around the cocktail hour with wine and champagne until it was time to shuffle us outside for the ceremony at the gazebo. We sat in folding chairs and had a clear view of the couple as the gazebo was elevated a few steps above the crowd. Funny anecdote was the carpenter bees (perfectly harmless as they don't sting) buzzing around the handheld flower bouquets. After the ceremony, we had an hour and a half to mill around the grounds, pool/fountains and an outdoor bar area. Appetizers were served in the first of two dining areas, as well as a full bar and vodka station. This is my one and only complaint about the Rockleigh. There was an enormous amount of food served during this cocktail hour. Everything you could possibly imagine: sushi; full servings of tuna, salmon and beef; fajitas and tacos; shrimp cocktail; Italian station with mozzarella balls, pastas, pizza; salads and Mediterranean dishes; fruit and cheese trays and so much more. It was like a full buffet--and everything tasted amazingly good! Sounds great, right? It would have been had it not meant that by the time dinner (filet mignon for me) was served three hours later, I still had zero appetite. And there was SOOOOOOOO much food leftover, barely touched. The presentation was beautiful, but it was upsetting to see so much food going to waste. Even if the fault lied with the wedding couple, I feel the venue should have better guided them so that the bridal couple didn't waste their money on food that wasn't eaten--and such vast quantities of food should never be wasted when there are so many hungry people in the world. The reception continued in the second dining room and was beautifully decorated. Crystal chandelier, soft lighting--it was truly a magical space. The three course dinner was exceptional, though I could barely eat any of it, and included (my choices, anyway) shrimp risotto, filet and the best chocolate lava cake and raspberry sorbet I've ever had. Between the bride (whom I know personally) and her intense attention to detail and the Rockleigh staff who are excellent at their craft, the bridal couple could not have asked for a more perfect wedding. read more

The Rockleigh is all a big hype. I've been here twice for both my cousins' weddings. I was too young for the first wedding, but tonight was a disappointment. I ordered the filet mignon medium and my cousin ordered his medium rare. They messed it up big time. We're here for a wedding, and the people they hired for this event are completely uneducated. My boyfriend asked the waitress during cocktail hour what she was serving, she said "heur devours" terrible. We then asked what it actually was and she responded with "I think fish", so we declined the "heur devour. The only thing that was good was dessert and we didn't even get to taste a slice of the wedding cake but it's okay because were full anyway.
