This place and the people who work for them are simply miserable! After waiting a month and a half with a torn up kitchen, I called for status of installing the granite counter tops and the woman "manager" berated me and then hung up! Lowes just gave me a $4000+ refund and said they are trying to distance themselves from the Rock Shop! Lowes and Home Depot needs to get a quality installer to work with. Definitely go somewhere else! Rockshop is the only Lowe's Contracted Sage installer in the Traverse City are of Michigan. They did a horrible job with initial install on 7/12/2022. You could see the seams from 30 feet away. I have experience with Ubatuba granite installation at previous residence and the seam was nearly indistinguishable. They returned to "fix it" and after they left, we cleaned the countertop. We could see an obvious dull spot along the entire seam where they damaged the granite polish. Within a couple of weeks their seam repair began falling out. Additionally, they did not align the front edges and scuffed the finish off the oven cabinet during initial install. Compared to our experience with Home Depot's Contracted Installers in Virginia also using Ubatuba granite, the quality of this install in Northern Michigan is HORRIBLE! After greater than10 calls to Lowe's Installation Customer Service and calls to the local Lowe's store Dept Manager, Lowe's finally got the Rock Shop to schedule an appointment on Nov 2, 2022. At this point, if they do not remove the granite and reinstall properly or replace it completely, I am demanding a refund from Lowes and going with another vendor completely. I went through Lowes for our new quartz countertops starting in March 2021. We had one problem after another with The Rock Shop, which is the company that Lowe's uses as a vendor for their quartz. The measurement was scheduled one day and no one showed up. Then we received a call 2 days later from the owner Mike that he was in our area and could measure. So that was completed. About a month later we received a call that the wrong sink was ordered. If I I changed it to the original one it would be a few more weeks since the quartz was cut already. I decided to keep the sink they cut the quartz to fit. It was then installed on July 6th, our scheduled appt. was between 2 and 6 pm. They called at 7:30 pm and stated they could install it then, we agreed since we didn't want to have to reschedule, they left our house at 10:00 pm. The counter with our sink in it was 1 1/2 inches too long, so the owner Mike cut it on site. While removing it to cut it they damaged our brand new stove. Once that was put in place he had to seam it and the seam, in my opinion did not fit just right but I signed off on it so I was stuck with it. The island counter had been left in the sun and was yellowed on one half and they knew that when they brought it. That was re-ordered and replaced. The replacement counter came to us in August, it wasn't perfect either but the imperfection was in the stone not any fault of the rock shop. I asked for Mike to inspect the seam and he isn't the nicest person to deal with. He said something like, well this seam isn't bad at all, it's fine. I signed off on it so I figured he would do nothing. It's raised and you can even feel it through a wash cloth and the adhesive used is grey and the counter is mostly white so it's very visible. Mike said that is supplied by the manufacturer. I feel like too much was used and that is why I see it so easily. Lowes asked for pictures and I haven't heard back from them regarding any kind of discount. I feel like I paid full price for a scratch and dent counter and I will never recommend this company. From the start with the sink issue, then scheduling and no return phone calls for weeks. Then the actual product. This company needs to straighten up their customer service. read more

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! We got our quartz countertops there. It took them three months longer than originally quoted to get them installed. They sent me a semi-experienced installer who put them in with big gaps on one side. I now know that white is more difficult to hide the seams. The installer tried hard but there's a dark line running up the middle where two pieces meet. He told me it's the best he could do but he'd tell Mike, the owner as soon as he got back to the shop and he'd make arrangements to come fix it himself. The seam where two pieces of quartz meet behind the sink is uneven. They're supposed to meet evenly but they don't. The top is higher than the bottom. Think ____---- instead of ------ I waited a week to hear from him (so-as not to be pushy) before I placed my first call. I called no less than 7 times and was told he's not in. I left 7 messages and have yet to hear from him. I was so excited to get these counters and now all I see is the shoddy installation. I'd go to Green Bay before I'd ever spend one dime there again. I was hoping to use him to do both bathrooms and a laundry room counter, all in the works in the next 6 months but I'd rather use a cardboard box then ever deal with them again!! read more
