Love this hotel. It's right smack in downtown Boston, next to Boston Commons and a 2 mins walk to China Town. The rooms are updated tho the refrigerators for drinks are locked and not stocked. The entire staff are really helpful and cheerful as what's expected of a 5 star hotel. They have one restaurant in the hotel and they do serve good food. Open from 7am-11am and 4pm to 9pm (pandemic hours I believe). Gym is on the 3rd floor which is actually Equinox Gym. $15 per use and they charge it to your room. Definitely great stay and now one of our favorite hotel when in Boston.

I am shocked the ratings on Yelp are so low for this Ritz location. I stay at lot of nice hotels and this one is always great. The check in process is very personal, quick, and convenient. I usually get an upgraded room, helps that I am a Marriott Titanium member. Most recently I got an executive suite and had great rest all three nights I was there. I asked for a Nespresso machine and they brought one with about a 50 pod variety box, totally amazing and no extra cost! The Equinox gym is expensive at $15 a day, but it is a state of the art gym and you can take spin or other Studio classes as part of the fee. The location is great, completely walkable to North End or the water front. The prices can vary dramatically, and I recommend you call to get the best rate.

It's so surprising to see a Ritz-Carlton with only a three star average. Seems almost impossible to believe. I would not believe it myself until I experienced why they only have three stars, it's because of their mediocre service and their lack of a traditional "ladies and gentleman" attitude. Sadly, I think that they need to go back to the Ritz Carlton training manual and learn how to take care of their best clients. It all started when we first arrived to the property. It was nearly midnight and raining... And not a person in valet or anyone offering to help. No one. Even the people who came after us had the same issue, where to park their car or how to get help with their bags for a family of four. That's why we pay a premium here, to get help and service as needed. Usually they anticipate it. Check in was a clumsy effort... Due to the computer not cooperating and then they were not able to register my credit card properly and they could not look up my account and see my titanium membership number. It was a long tedious process. Luckily our room is very nice. We are very happy with the comfy bed and amenities. Our only view is another building... But since we're spending lots of time outside it does not matter that much. It became a challenge in the morning to get a coffee machine to make coffee in our room. We waited nearly an hour... And eventually called back to make sure they had our request. I'm not sure why they don't have coffee available in the room all the time like other Ritz properties. After reading many of the other reviews, I read that they had a car service to use around town. I thought that would be very useful... So as we were leaving, we asked the front desk if we can arrange for the car service. They said they stoped the car service so do not expect that to be available anymore. Bummer indeed. What really stung the most though was the fact that I have many upgrade certificates to club level in my member portfolio and they would not honor them. The club level has been closed for a while and they just opened and we did not know that it was gonna be such a big deal and hassle to get access. And with so many club level certificates on file, (63 nights of upgrades) you would think they would want to welcome us happily especially since it would only be for one night since we already missed most of our first night here by arriving so late. After staying more than a dozen Ritz Carlton properties, I am disappointed at the quality of service received here. It feels like they really do not care about making it as special as they could.

The Verb is rock n roll / music themed that includes records and record players in each room; pretty interesting and nostalgic. We had two rooms with a view of the pool without balcony. My room was clean, smelled good, and was well-decorated. The room included all of the basics. The second room had a horrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom. We reported the issue to the front desk, and the staff member claim it would be repaired upon our return from our outing. Unfortunately, it was not resolved. The included breakfast hosted next door was very good. In addition, the breakfast staff employees were excellent.

The property has a fun 1960s vibe, with music front and center, turntables in every room, and a big selection of albums to choose from. Once you get past the all-black hallways, the rooms themselves are a good size, very clean, with effective HVAC, relatively quiet nights, and one of the better-designed hotel bathrooms, including actual shelf space for toiletries. Staff were solid, and the included breakfast is more substantial than the typical "free breakfast" offered by many hotels. Highly recommended; we stayed in a standard room rather than one of the converted travel-trailer suites.

On the surface, this hotel presents as polished and upscale, but over time it became clear that it is a full-on Monet--looks good at a glance, but the closer you get, the more issues appear. During my stay, I was required to move rooms three times--once voluntarily after an upgrade, and twice due to serious maintenance issues, including a sprinkler-system flood. In subsequent rooms, I experienced repeated heating failures, inconsistent hot water, and even a shower head detaching during use. The heating issues were ongoing and never fully resolved. On multiple occasions, my room dropped to 66-67 degrees despite the thermostat being set to 80. Even after maintenance visits, the room never consistently warmed beyond 75 degrees. On the morning before my departure, I woke to cold air blowing again, confirming the problem persisted through the end of my stay. Management follow-through was disappointing. Promises to check back or assist were not kept, and communication was inconsistent at best. While beverage credit was offered, it did not come close to addressing the cumulative disruption, lack of rest, and stress caused by ongoing room issues over nearly seven weeks. The saving grace of this hotel was the weekday bartender, Rebecca. Monday through Friday, she greeted my colleagues and me with genuine warmth, professionalism, and grace after very long workdays. She was consistently excellent. Unfortunately, that level of service was not present on weekends, and our group ultimately chose to avoid the hotel bar until Rebecca returned. That said, I do want to acknowledge Shirley, Wendy, James, and Nate, who were consistently kind, professional, and helpful, as well as the valet staff, who were always efficient and courteous. This hotel may work for a very short stay if expectations are modest. For long-term or extended stays, however, the operational issues, lack of follow-through, and inconsistent hospitality do not align with the image or price point the property presents.

That time due to everything going on in the world with minimal travel we enjoyed a cheap rate for an entire weekend with probably the best view offered for the hotel of TD Garden as well as the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge. Which I know it's just a bridge but it was a nice sight for an in-city view. This most recent stay was due to a concert at TD Garden my wife and I were in town for. Which I will say if you are looking for a place to stay for an event at TD Garden, good luck finding a better option than here! Check in staff and valet workers were friendly and greeted us with a smile. Rates were very reasonable for end of summer and with a concert so close. Room was smaller this stay around and our view was more of just a building with a small glance of TD Garden if you looked to the side. Overall a very clean room and still a good amount of space. Can not think of any complaints for our stay and would stay here again. They offer valet parking and anytime we needed the car it was quick to get it back. Inside the lobby/first floor they have plenty of seating and what they dub "The Bistro" that offers breakfast, dinner, and full bar and I believe Starbucks drinks too. Location wise it is quite ideal, obviously if your activities/work is in this area of Boston. Besides TD Garden it is also close to North station along with plenty of food and drink options. Personally for a morning coffee or matcha I say check out Blank Street Coffee, then food wise I would say take a quick walk to the North End or closer try Tavern In The Square. Definitely a hotel worth looking into while visiting Boston!

It is close to Fenway Park and we were able to walk there and back. This would be a good location if that was your destination. Parking is $70 extra per night which I find excessive but maybe that's the going rate in Boston. We had a king room on the 7th floor. There's a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, cooktop and a nice area to eat. It had a sofa and a small flat screen tv that you can adjust on a mount. The layout was good for our needs. The issue was housekeeping. At first glance there were some crumbs in the kitchen and a few hairs in the tub , and dirty kitchen items. Later we discovered dirty sheets. We requested our entire bedding be changed the next morning and the rest of the room be serviced as well. We came back to the room and the bed was changed but none of the room was cleaned so we headed back down again to request cleaning. We were told it would be cleaned the next day. The staff were apologetic and we didn't have any issues with them. Breakfast is served downstairs and the gentleman was overseeing the area for cleanliness and refills. He did a great job. During check-in, I asked Mo if my son was discharged early if there would be any issues and he assured me that if we told them as soon as we knew that there wouldn't be any issues. I gave the manager on shift almost 2 days notice that we were going to be checking out early. The morning we checked out the front desk attendant told me we would be charged an early check-out fee because we didn't give them 24 hours notice. After I told her I spoke with the manager 2 days prior she told me she would have to "talk with the team" before doing anything and we would get our bill via email. The next morning I received our bill and they charged us for the night after we checked out. I called the hotel and left 4 messages with the accounting manager (I never received a call back) and tried for 9 days straight (to include filing multiple claims with Marriott Corporate) and they refused to refund me for the extra night and valet for the night. Their justification was that my car was parked in their garage that night (they must have a way to manipulate the valet time stamp) so they could not refund me for the night because that means we were at the hotel. I emailed both the manager and Marriott corporate my EZPass receipts (to prove we had left Boston the day we checked out) and they have yet to resolve this case. It has been well over 2 weeks and we have never received a phone call or email response from them. Save yourself a terrible customer service experience and choose another hotel! The environment was beautifully decorated for Christmas, like last year, and I had to take some pictures to have as desktop wallpaper on my computer. We had a very nice time and the selections on the menu were impressive. I went with the carrot cake chai black tea, mainly because it had pumpkin pie kinds of spices and vanilla rooibos. It tasted wonderful, like an autumnal tea, and all our teas came in beautifully decorated tea pots, apparently from Australia. The Four Seasons also does this interesting thing where they give you a liquor that fits with your tea order, to be added if you wish or drank by itself. I had a sip of mine and from someone else's, a bit strong for me but a bailey's one was alright. I'm fine with just tea myself! As for the food, this year's high tea was one of the best I've had. The menu was different from last year's, which was great too but in my opinion this seemed like an upgrade. Some of the food items included pieces of salmon in a little pastry, mini lobster roll, peking duck crepe, curried chicken croissant, a beautiful deviled egg, vanilla bean and brown butter scones, an eggnog tart, and a Santa hat shaped raspberry pastry. We even got some alternate options for a lactose sensitive person, so that's a great plus as well. The atmosphere was elegant and calming, and the service was great. The Four Seasons high tea was a very special holiday event, and comes highly recommended!
