For years every time I've gone here there was no one inside and no other orders being made, I wondered how business could be so slow when I loved their fried rice. I see negative reviews for them all the time, and I'll be honest, it's okay. But for something close by it was convenient when you have a craving. But they don't abide by their own hours, or answer the phone. Numerous times have I driven up there to locked doors when it clearly says open online. Today I called twice before driving up there again, just for someone to pick up the phone to immediately hang up. Highly recommend! Ordered online and was ready as times estimated online. Lady was very sweet and greeted my husband. Food was hot and steamy! Flavor is a 10/10!! Worst, worst, worst service ever! Messed up the order, but would not take responsibility for it. I ordered Seafood delight, but was sent shrimp with veggies. When I asked about it, I was told that is how it comes. However, on the menu, as plain as day, it is supposed to have scallops, crabmeat, shrimp and veggies. Also ordered Shrimp Fried Rice with No Carrots, but got Shrimp Lo Mein with Carrots, and when I called that out, was told that I ordered it that way. I only ordered here in the strength of the quality of the location that used to be in Lewisville. They are miles apart in quality of food. So first it took 2 hours to get my Grubhub the lady told me it left the store 1.5 hours ago I tracked my delivery person he was posted down the block for over a hour. I get my food my combo fried rice is trash not a hint of garlic or anything the "beef" is mostly grizzle and it has an off taste the general tso is super mid . I'd rather eat mall Chinese over this . Ordered chicken chow mein and repeated the order multiple times because I saw a sign that said "mgmt not responsible for wrong orders, we repeat and confirm multiple times." That should have been my red flag. The next red flag is this place was dead and not a soul in sight on a Saturday dinner rush. Well, got my order and it was of course wrong; chicken lo mein, and with construction and 380 traffic, it wasn't even worth the 30 minutes to go replace it. Simply awful... I called Rice Pot Express and order a Crab Rangoon, and Chicken Lo Mein. I wasn't told that the side of grease would be free! The Crab Rangoon was actually just burnt wontons. The wontons were a dark brown, not golden, there was very little crab, and they had a carbon flavor to them. Why anyone would serve these is beyond me. They belonged in the trash, witch is exactly where I put them. The Chicken Lo Mein came with an extra side of grease. It was all over the container, all over the bag, and it made the dish inedible, the whole dish tasted like burnt oil, so I tossed it in the garbage next to the Crab Rangoon. The Dr Pepper I ordered was the only part of the meal I enjoyed, but considering I didn't eat anything, that makes it the most expensive Dr Pepper in history at 15 dollars and some change. Makes one wonder if the Chinese couple (owners?), taking and serving have ever tasted what they are selling or if they actually eat what they sell. I had the Combination Lomein and my husband - Happy Family. They tasted exactly the same except mine had the broken up soft lomein noodles. My wife had the Mongolian beef she would rate it 2.5 out of 5 the spices were about right the white rice was dry though. I had the hunan pork spice was about right. I would rate it a 3 too. Portions are large enough for two at dinner time. Price maybe about a dollar higher than I would expect. Does not make my keeper list. read more

Went here tonight hoping to like it. When the young lady asked if I wanted cucumber in my noodles not knowing the difference between cucumber and zucchini, I should've turned around and left then. The other guy looked puzzled and said I'm sure you mean zucchini. I definitely should've just asked for my money back when I checked my food the 1st time before leaving. I ordered veggie lomein. It was mostly noodles hardly any veggies. I told them I wanted half veggies/half noodles so they remade it. Still not many veggies but gave the illusion of lots of veggies by putting more on top before closing the container instead of throughout the dish. The taste was quit lackluster. The noodles and vegetables were overcooked. I wasted $10. I will not go back here. People who like this place more than likely prefer underseasoned food and unseasoned chicken. read more

Super confused by the poor ratings. This is a wonderful take out place. We ordered delivery tonight and it was delivered within the time promised. I ordered the chicken fried rice and was impressed by how the chicken was nice and juicy. The fried rice also had been sprouts which was a nice touch. I also ordered the egg roll and it was nice and crisp. I was sad I only ordered 1. My husband got the sesame chicken and he also loved it. He felt the same as myself about the egg rolls too. We have ordered from here for the past 3 years, very consistently. VERY.... They tend to be very busy, and it's usually not a problem, but do have phone issues on occasion. Staff is super friendly and delivery is always fast and as promised with the kindest delivery drivers! Recently, call it the past 4 months or so, the food quality, although not expected to be super high quality, has gone down hill. I order Chicken Fried Rice, each time we have ordered (weekly) it seems the chicken in this dish is old and chewy. Just disgusting. The crab rangoon is decent, but greasy and mostly fried won ton. I was really skeptical after reading the bad reviews, but I was also desperately hungry and not wanting to leave the house. So glad I gave this place a try. We ordered steamed dumplings, shrimp fried rice and general Tso's chicken. Really tasty stuff folks! It was delivered nice and hot. People complained of overly greasy food, but we didn't get that at all. Chicken was fried perfectly crispy and covered with the sauce. Rice was really good with a nice amount of shrimp. It tasted like they just had a pile of steamed beef strips and just added the sauce and onions. Boy, were there a lot of onions. It just really lacked flavor. Nothing says "we don't care" more than serving your inside customers on cheap styrofoam plates and plastic forks. It was really cheesy. Others have mentioned the space. Loud TV on the wall, a table in the corner that was used as an office desk, product stacked in another corner. It's clear the management really doesn't care. I had stayed away from this place because of the low ratings, I wish I would have tried them sooner. Since moving to Texas I have tried dozens of Chinese Restaurants in a vain attempt to eat a dish that is common to every Chinese Restaurant in the New Orleans area. The dish is called Boneless Chicken. Basically it is Moo Goo Gai Pan with lightly breaded Chicken. The type of chicken you normally find with Gen Tso's or Sesame only with the Vegetables and Sauce you would find in a Moo Goo. You would think any restaurant worth a darn could replicate the dish from the description. Because every Chinese Restaurant I've been to has Moo Goo and Gen Tso's. How difficult is it to combine the two as I have described above. Apparently its akin to rocket science because dozens of restaurants have failed to meet my simple request. Some refused to try, some tried and failed. I had one tell me that it would not be good and they would not even try. Well the folks at Rice Pot Express got the closest. I'd say they replicated it 95% true to form. If they swapped out the Zucchini for Celery then they would have nailed it. We will be ordering from them again.
