Saw the decent star rating on Yelp and wanted to try it out for my Mom's birthday. Overall the place looked clean and they were jamming some old school pop music. Cute. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered crab rangoon and pork eggrolls (I don't eat either so no feedback for that). I ordered just water to drink and it tasted terrible. Not filtered - I guess just straight out of the tap? Not sure but I ended up ordering tea which was fine. Their drinking glasses were lil pitchers which were cute. We asked about the spice level and the waiter said there were no levels - it's just "however the cook feels like it that day". ‍ I got the chicken lo mein, TONS of food for $16. Flavor was good but too oily for me. When the check came around I noticed the cash vs card price. About $3 extra to use a card. Who carries cash these days? They don't have a modern POS machine so they took my card to the back to process. Their tipping suggestions were 15,20,25,30%. Overall, it was okay but I probably won't be going back.

The food is good but their prices are outrageous. How is it 40.00 for 1 person - shrimp fried rice, egg rolls and crab Rangoon? The fried rice is big serving but even then it's mostly rice and a few huge chunks of broccoli and few shrimp. I wish they used the smaller shrimp instead of the large one and they cut up the broccoli better

To start off I've given this place a try 3 times to try different dishes before I wrote this review and I've decided all in all, it's kinda pricey but great Vietnamese cuisine especially for being in Portland. The pho was great! Possibly a competition with my top 5 pho joints in Houston, surprisingly (big competition out there). Double meat is a must although I wish they'd offer tendon. Anyways, it saves me a trip to Corpus for my pho craving (I used to frequent Lei's Kitchen) Second time around I've tried their beef chow fun noodles to-go. Again pricey compared to Houston prices and the noodles of their choice was 7/10. However I was content given their method of packing to-go was a nice bowl container that could be microwaved. Lastly I went there a third time to try canh chua (sweet and sour soup on their menu) and paired it with ca kho (braised fish I believe was what it was called on their menu). Neither was nothing to write home about however it was decent enough. The interior was nice and there was a bunch of people at 1pm on a Monday so I hope it continues to stay consistent or get better with everything. Happy eating!

This is one of our families' favorite restaurants to eat in the area. You will not be disappointed with the flavors or the quantity of food they serve.

First time here, and this place is really good! If you are in corpus it's a short drive over the bride into GP area. Ordering the lo main and dumplings this was enough for 3 people to share. The portions are plentiful and the taste is great. The restaurant it self is well decorated and the staff was attentive. Really enjoyed this lunch with my family and I'll be back to try something else.

They have a recurring customer due to the prices compared to the other asian cuisine around the area.

And outside the windows just traffic going by. Although they had some cool plants by the sidewalk. There was plenty of empty tables for us to be seated on that side so don't know why they put us in the sports bar. Big TVs had nothing but a sports commentary showing two guys but no sound and after that, the resting screen was showing for a long time. Reggae music playing. I ordered cashew chicken and my husband got orange chicken. Everything on both plates was from the same orange/yellowish color family, no green veggies at all. The crispies were good; ate all of those. Fried Rice was also orangey and needed to be cooked longer. I like bamboo shoots as much as the next person, but not a whole can on my plate. Too many water chestnuts also, but the amount of carrots was great. Usually there's never enough carrots for me. Egg drop soup: was trying to figure out what it tastes like since I've never actually had it before. Chicken broth. It tastes like chicken broth. Just with egg floating in it and the occasional carrot or pea, but it was good since the plates took a while to come out. There's a sign posted that says: We are not a fast food place. Note: Don't ask to sub wonton soup on your entree cause "that's a separate item". Waiter seemed annoyed to be asked that question because it clearly isn't a choice offered with the entree on the menu; only egg drop soup or hot and sour soup. I'm sure he gets asked that a lot. Doesn't seem to me to be too much to ask since they obviously have it. ‍

The Tom Yum soup was listed at $19.95, then shrimp was an additional $8.00, and mussels were another $10.95. In the end, a single bowl of soup that could only reasonably serve two people cost nearly $40. For a family of four ( 2 adults and 2 lil kinds) that pricing felt excessive and very frustrating. Another issue was the automatic gratuity. In most restaurants, gratuity is typically added only for larger parties, often five or more guests. At Thai Spice, gratuity was included regardless of party size. Whether you dine alone or with two, three, or four people, the gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Overall, I believe the owner should reconsider the pricing structure and gratuity policy. Charging separately for the soup base and toppings in this way does not feel fair to customers, and the automatic gratuity for all party sizes is disappointing. That's why I don't see anyone in the restaurant for weekend night because they are rip-off.

I didn't mention a spice level, and my Pad Thai came out pretty fiery--but still delicious and full of flavor. Portions are generous, and while the prices run a little higher, you definitely get your money's worth. Overall, a solid choice for Thai food in Corpus Christi.
