I loved how vintage and old school they were. With a variety of alcoholic beverages available, excellent service, and unrivaled decor/ambiance, I would not hesitate to come back next time I'm in the area. Go ahead and check this place out!

Dangerous and unprofessional behavior from the general manager…read more I'm a medical professional who is licensed in ACLS and ATLS. I was attending a show here when an older patron suddenly collapsed. When it became clear he couldn't stand, I helped him lie flat and told the general manager to call 911. He replied, "We don't need 911." Recognizing the urgency, I stepped outside and called 911 myself. Through the window, I saw the bartender trying to prop the disoriented man onto a barstool, a move that directly contradicts basic emergency care guidelines. Then he went back to serving drinks! When paramedics arrived, the bartender came outside shouting, "I told you not to call 911!" and even attempted to turn the EMTs away. The patient was ultimately transported and hospitalized, confirming that emergency care was absolutely necessary. Refusing to call 911 for a collapsed and confused elderly patron is reckless, negligent, and shockingly unprofessional This incident reflects an alarming lack of judgment and empathy, and it placed a vulnerable person at real medical risk. Terrible experience.

After reading the reviews and seeing the photos, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, it didn't quite deliver the experience we were hoping for. The entrance felt surprisingly ordinary and didn't create the sense of mystery or excitement that's usually part of a great speakeasy. Inside, the space is attractive, but the atmosphere felt a bit confusing. It wasn't quite a speakeasy, it wasn't quite a fine dining restaurant, and it wasn't casual either. It seemed like it was trying to be several different things without fully committing to one identity. The food was good, but nothing particularly memorable. Everything was enjoyable enough, but considering the reputation and price point, we expected dishes that would leave a lasting impression. The service was pleasant, although not especially attentive or polished. One unexpected disappointment was the lighting. We were excited to capture a few photos to remember the evening, but the lighting made that nearly impossible. None of our pictures turned out well, which was unfortunate since we had planned this as part of a special night out. The restaurant was also surprisingly quiet, with only one other couple dining during our visit. They were also discussing the food and seemed to share some of the same impressions we had. Overall, Employees Only wasn't a bad experience--it simply didn't live up to the expectations created by its reputation. For such a special occasion, we were hoping for an immersive atmosphere, standout food, and a memorable experience. Instead, we left feeling underwhelmed. I'm glad we gave it a try, but it's probably not a place I would choose to visit again.

This has been an LA spot for decades... literally!…read more I have been here several times over the years and what I appreciate is that this place knows how to evolve with the times, from originally opening up as the place to go to on the strip when I was in college to a networking spot when I was in business school and even to 2025 where they now have a fun and festive Mariah Carey Holiday Bar for the holidays. Drinks and food are what you expect in LA. expensive. But service from bartenders is fast (once you can get in!) and they are friendly. Valet at the hotel or several lots in the area. Vibes and layout was MC all the way. The pre purchase ticket came with the option of only two drinks which I wish the whole cocktail menu was available. Otherwise the cocktails were okay, nothing amazing and definitely not worth the price. There was also limited seating-- I wish they provided more seating options to the tickets sold. The karaoke booth was also a great idea but the music in the head phones was different than what was playing in the actual booth so made it confusing. Also the $9.99 price for two songs was definitely a money grab and didn't understand the booth so we lost out on one song. Overall, fun idea but could have been better.
