I took my husband here for his birthday dinner and overall it was a nice experience but a few things could have been better. We had an 8 PM reservation on a Saturday night and it seems like some Saturdays they have live music. The band was really good but it was pretty loud and since later reservations are seated closer to the band, we had to wait a bit for a table that wasn't so close. The front staff was super nice and accommodating about that though which I appreciated. As for the food, I wouldn't recommend the oysters Rockefeller. it was really salty and not the best I've had. The rest of the meal was fine but I felt like the overall dinner experience was rushed. I was also a little disappointed that nothing was done for my husband's birthday. There were several other birthdays in the room and we saw that some people were brought something special but we didn't get anything at all which was frustrating. I'd say if you plan on going maybe avoid the later reservations so you don't feel rushed at the end of the night. The atmosphere is pretty and the staff is kind but for a birthday celebration this fell a bit short of what I was hoping for.

Go for the Bananas Foster. GO AND LET THEM LIGHT UP THIS DELICIOUS DESSERT AND WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! But why are cappuccino and espresso on the menu whe they have not been available for over a year? (Please fix that Hotel Roanoke.)

Closed for dinner but breakfast was open. We got a table easily by a window. Craig our server was amazing. Great conversation and suggestions. I passed on the buffet and chose the fried egg and andouille sausage hash. Delicious and just the right portion size. Deb had the French toast. Delicious! 2 large slices with great flavors. Outstanding spot for breakfast in a historic room

We knew we wanted to go somewhere fancy for our 10-year wedding anniversary dinner while visiting Roanoke. The Regency Room, located inside the Hotel Roanoke by Hilton, is a well-established fine dining restaurant known as a top choice for special occasions. What pushed us over the edge in selecting this place was they offered outside dining and you could easily make a reservation on Open Table. It turned out to be unseasonably cold that night, and appreciated that they in the end accommodated us inside. First, the Hotel Roanoke is a gorgeous hotel and convention center. It is a Tudor-style hotel and they have maintained and restored that antique look, while adding all the modern creature comforts guests expect. The Regency Room is a typical hotel-ballroom type space. Very white and clean, not my typical dining choice but good to mix it up. Also, if the service and food is high quality that's what mostly matters. Once seated we quickly received water and some delicious baked bread with a cheesy crust. We had a main waiter and then some backup team ensuring we were well attended to. We each decided to order a drink off their cocktail menu and were then informed that tonight (and that weekend) would be a prefix menu for Easter. We did not know that would be the case in advance and had of course looked at the regular dinner menu and made some game plans-no biggie. We had a quick chuckle about the irony and then decided its our anniversary so we will just go with the flow. I believe it was like $46 a person. With this prefix menu everyone picked an appetizer, main, and dessert from a couple of options. Additionally, everyone got an amuse-bouche of cheese, crackers and blueberries. It was small, as the name implies, but I liked both of the cheeses. Maybe more than one cracker would have been ideal? My husband and I decided to order different things to get to try and share. For the appetizer I ordered the Sea Scallops and he got the Grilled Smoked Duck. Both dishes were plated nicely and tasted good, but I was expecting a slightly bigger portion size. I got two scallops, which were well cooked with some kind of puree underneath. The duck was three small cuts and came with a strawberry balsamic "salad." I don't think you can call that a salad as it was like two pieces of very small lettuce. To go with our main entrees, we got a nice bottle of red wine. They have a large wine menu, but were out of our first choice (apparently, they had just reopened that night since Valentine's Day!). Our waiter was very apologetic and helpful in selecting a new comparable choice. We got the Grilled Filet of Beef (coffee rubbed, roasted shallot burgundy reduction) and the Charred Double Cut Lamb Chops (cherry-port wine reduction)- both came with garlic white wine broccolini and herb butter roasted fingerling potatoes. I enjoyed both entrees. The meats were juicy and had a nice sear and char. The broccolini and potatoes were well cooked and seasoned. Nothing particularly special in the plating or imagination, but I don't think that's really the style of this types of place. Finally, dessert! There were only two options, so we got one of each. There was a Six Layer Carrot Cake (bourbon cream cheese mousse, praline walnuts, caramel sauce) and Peanut Butter Moose (chocolate ganache, coca crumble, peanut brittle). Neither are my go-to for desserts (how was there not a chocolate option?) but they were tasty versions of their type. Both quite rich and decadent. And as if that wasn't already too much, they brought us a slice of cheesecake with a candle in it for our anniversary. Very sweet! We definitely needed a to-go box for dessert leftovers. We had a lovely evening and dinner at The Regency Room. Wasn't quite blown away by anything, it may have been the prefix menu limitations or something, but overall a good experience as they do what they do pretty well.

Great breakfast in a refurbished room at the venerable Hotel snd Conference Center. Server Craig was extremely efficient, personable and helpful. Both our breakfasts were delivered exactly as ordered and provided a perfect start to our day, The dining room has been setup to provide inside or outside seating and all distances. Staff was gloved and masked. All good! We will definitely stay here again! The whole stay was great.

The dining room is very spacious and elegant, with a classic look. Clean too. Service was nice. We came for breakfast. Our server told the a la carte menu would take about 25 min, so we we opted for the buffet. It was a very good buffet. I really liked the biscuits and gravy and the scrambled eggs. The omelet bar had an egg white option.

We had the breakfast buffet on our first day at the hotel. To be honest, this was the best buffet I've had at a hotel. Unfortunately, our party had other plans the rest of the days and our stay was short so we weren't able to return.

In all my trips to the Hotel Roanoke, this most recent trip was the first time I tried the Regency Room... Service was OUTSTANDING too! We came here for breakfast and one of us ordered from the menu while the other got their continental buffet. They have a decent menu to order from, with some options the full buffet doesn't offer, like their Fried Egg & Andouille Sausage Hash, which was perfectly-prepared and full of flavor! Their coffee is decent. The fruits on their buffet were mostly unripe though. Their parfait on the buffet was too sweet and didn't taste very fresh as well. Like I said, service was GREAT and the place is BEAUTIFUL! Definitely worth stopping in!!

BRUNCH... Well first of all, the Buffet Room was enchanting! Murals around the walls were magnificent; and the gleaming black and white tile floor made the space bright and cheery. The selections were well prepared, neatly presented, and included a few unexpected items: the delicious smoked salmon was a standout! Lots of breakfast breads among which was a spicy pumpkin bread not to be missed. Of course, a brunch buffet is not complete without an omelette station, and the Regency Room's was wonderful. SOOO... Make this your first option when breakfasting in Roanoke! (Inside the Hotel Roanoke, Shenandoah Ave)

Never once have I had a single issue worthy enough to mention. Also for perspective it's 8pm, it's been a 14 hour day and I surly was in no mood to get into my car when it's less than 20 degrees outside and the wind howling, but I did. Sat at a table for over 15 minutes, bartender avoided me as she was in deep conversation with another patron I suppose. Moved to the bar. Got a TUDE from her with a "I would have came over, you didn't have to move". Then another guy just walks up, she gives him a menu and then his drink, I have neither. Finally she comes over my way, I asked if I could place a take out over. She grabs a menu, drops it in front of me and walks to the other end of the bar without asking or taking my drink order. She starts at the other end of the bar taking drink orders for all the other patrons who already have a drink in front of them. My daughter was a waitress while in college so I'm extremely empathetic toward wait staff, my lowest tip is 20%, good service 30% and excellent pays 40%. Tips are how they earn a living. Walked out.... also the menu is vastly different than what is offered on their website. Also I guess it may have been the chef- working extremely hard the entire time holding up a wall. What's sad in the end is I'll bet a 100 to 1 that not even a peep will come of this review from hotel or restaurant management.

This well-regarded, upscale steakhouse, received The Roanoker Magazine's 2025 Platinum Award for Best Steakhouse in Roanoke City, and is considered a premier dining destination in the area, offering a high-end experience with a focus on quality cuts of meat and a sophisticated atmosphere, though at a higher price point. I made a reservation through the Open Table app for this Wednesday at 5:00pm, dining opening time, for table 85, which was the table I sat at the last time I dined there. This is one of only two tables next to a window in the back of the restaurant. I invite you to view the photographs accompanying my last review, when it was still light out, to see the window view I had from there. When I arrived, a friendly young lady greeted me and looked up for my reservation at the Host's station computer. She then took my coat, hanged it up and gave me a ticket for it. There was a beautiful waiting area with hunter green leather furniture, in front of an elegant designed bar. When my table was ready, she led me to my table. Soon after, my server Logan, another friendly and hospitable young lady, introduced herself and explained the menu and special of the day. To drink, I ordered a Strawberry Mockito Mocktail. For appetizer, I ordered the Seared Sea Scallops with a Parmesan Cognac Sauce. And as my main entrée, I combined a Live Maine Baked Lobster with a Certified Angus 14oz Beef Filet, cooked medium-rare, with an Idaho Baked Potato and Sautéed Mushrooms as sides. The Strawberry Mockito Mocktail tasted just right. Every bite of the scallops in that sauce was an absolute delight. Expensive, but priceless at the same time! The succulent lobster meat, all out of the shell, came with a little bowl of warm butter for dipping. The Filet was cooked perfectly medium-rare, with a warm, red center, as requested. No wonder this place is famous for the quality of its meats and cooking method. For the Grand Finale of my meal, I had a Bread Pudding made with Krispy Kreme donuts, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. All the servers worked as a team, and came by to fill my glass with iced water.as soon as it was half empty. My server also came by at the right times to see how I was doing and check to see if I needed anything. Even with the restaurant full with several large groups dining there, the Restaurant Manager, John Catron, came by my table to say hello and chat with me for a while. The waitress clearly didn't want to be there - complete lack of personality, bordering on a poor attitude. What should have been a nice brunch for the two moms in attendance was done in 45 minutes. This place needs to stick to dinner because clearly brunch is not in their wheelhouse. The restaurant itself is nice and in a great area, and the bar looks like it would be a great spot for drinks and appetizers, but I'm not sure I would go back.

I arrived at the restaurant on time at five o'clock sharp and as I waited for them to open I had an opportunity to meet and chat with a couple who had been loyal customers of this restaurant for years since it first opened. They, as well as I, were aware of the beautiful location of the restaurant on one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of Roanoke. As soon as the doors opened, I allowed them to enter first and then when the host came back she gave me a warm and friendly greeting, welcoming me back, and took me to an ideal table, where I had a perfect view of the entire restaurant, from their open kitchen, to their bar, to the entire dining room and entrance, allowing me to capture in photographs the real feel of the ambiance of this cozy, yet elegant, upscale Southern, New-American restaurant known for its scratch-made dishes using locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients, including house-cured meats and pickled vegetables, as well as very creative cocktails. Shortly after I was seated, my delightful server Caroline arrived, and after a warm greeting took my order. To drink I order their Strawberry Fields Forever Mocktail. As appetizer I ordered a half dozen Oysters together with their famous Oyster Wraps. And as my main entrée, the Painted Hills Filet, cooked medium-rare. All the staff seemed so happy to see me and the manager came by to say hello and congratulate me for my outstanding Yelp accomplishment of 2025. My excellent server made sure that my order was well-paced, came by at the appropriate times to fill my glass with water and see if all was to my liking. Everything tasted amazingly delicious. Starting from the unique taste of my creative mocktail, to my flavorful appetizer, to my exquisite Filet main entrée that was so tender and cooked just right. The chefs in this fine dining restaurant are amazing and the quality of their meats is top notch. For dessert I had one of my favorite desserts, since I first had it there, their Dark Chocolate Panna Cotta. This dessert is absolutely mouthwatering. What an extraordinary dining experience I once again had there. Fine dining at its best. For those very special occasions, I highly recommend this restaurant. Or you can always make any day special, by dining there.

The food comes out fairly quick, the menu is concentrated while still offering a large variety of options. The cocktails are good, though neither of us ordered from the cocktail menu, they have a full bar so you can order whatever you please. Service could be a little more vocal/communicative but it seems staff is perhaps limited? It was good but there's room for moderate improvement for sure. The Chicken Liver Mousse was absolutely amazing and I'd return again and again specifically for this dish (go ahead and order extra bread to come with it)!!

I invite you to go back and read that significant review accompanied by some of my photographs of the restaurant and its food. It is extremely rare for one to have had the opportunity to follow a restaurant from such an early stage. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that it would be appropriate this year to go back to this restaurant and write a follow-up review, since my initial review was one of my reviews that contributed to me obtaining this highly esteemed Award. Argentinian people are known for their love of eating. Social gatherings are commonly centred on sharing a meal. Invitations to have dinner at home are generally viewed as a symbol of friendship, warmth, and togetherness. This in particular reflects the significance of this family-owned restaurant's name: Familia Argentina. This Argentinian family is opening its doors not only to share its food with their customers, which is one of the things they are most proud of from their culture, but also to share their friendship with all of us, since homemade food is seen as a way to show affection to their guests. When you think of Argentinian cuisine, the first thing you think of is steak. That is why I was happy to see that they have expanded their menu with different kinds of steaks, such as skirt steak. NY Strip, Ribeye, and Ribs. They also now have in their menu, their famous "Parrillada Argentina," which is a combination of Skirt Steak, Ribbs, and Chorizo, totaling over than 1lb of meat. Some of their other very popular menu items include their Beef Tenderloin Sandwiches and their Choripan with Chimichurri sauce. Their new menu also include a page of Lunch Special and a few delicious desserts. As a matter of fact the cover photograph of their Yelp page is one of my photographs of their Creamy Strawberry dessert. Today I arrived for an early dinner and received a warm welcome by the wife and co-owner of the restaurant. We talked for a while about the restaurant's progress and I complimented them on their new expanded menu. I had already visited the restaurant right after the new menu was brought out and had tried out their delicious "Parrillada Argentina" main course and their Creamy Strawberry dessert of which I was surprised by its creamy richness. After we stopped talking and catching up with things, I ordered two Ground beef and one Knief-Cut Meat empanadas as appetizer, and a Beef Milanesa a Caballo. I love this dish, because it reminded me so much of the "Bistec Empanisado" (Cuban Breaded Steak, a type of Country Fried Steak) my grandmother used to make me when I was growing up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The "A Caballo" part meant it came with two fried eggs on top. It was served with fries, and was practically the size of the dish it was served in. To drink I ordered a Dr. Pepper. Good thing I had skipped lunch that day because I was able to eat the whole thing, and I enjoyed it all the way. With lemon juice on top, that steak tasted amazing. However, I was so full that I skipped dessert. While dining, I forgot to mention that the husband, chef, and co-owner of the restaurant also came out to say hello. I had also met him the first time I came by the restaurant and had given him some suggestions. Such as placing larger photographs of the main menu items on one of the front windows to familiarize the public with Argentinian cuisine. In conclusion, once again I had a wonderful dining experience at this relatively new restaurant. Loved those tasty Empanadas and the Breaded Steak with Fried Eggs on top. I highly encourage you all to go try this family-restaurant out and give them your full support. I can assure you that you'll be glad you did.

After being ranked 4th among Yelp's Top 50 Most Prolific Elites of 2025, a distinction recognizing my consistent community engagement and high-quality contributions, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants, businesses, and establishments, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to go back and write follow-up reviews on those places that impressed me the most during 2025, and Sixth and Sky Rooftop Grille, located in the heart of Downtown Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example of one of them. Today, before going to watch the That's so 70's Concert at the Mill Mountain Theatre, located in the Center in the Square, where this restaurant is also located, I decided to have dinner there, recalling that I had dined there the first day it opened, and many other times as well, for its one of my favorites restaurants in Roanoke. I made my reservation through Open Table for four o'clock, requesting table 62, which is the one I've always dined at since they opened the restaurant. When I arrived I parked my pearl white Lexus in The Center in the Square Garage, conveniently located next door and operated by PARKRoanoke, where you pay a reasonable fee by scanning a QR code when you arrive, fill out the information about your car and credit card payment and it tracks the time from when you arrived and submitted this information to the time when you leave the parking garage, automatically charges your credit card. There is a door from the garage to the Center in the Square building, where I took the elevator to the restaurant on the 6th floor. Once I arrived at the restaurant at the exact time of my reservation, the elegant and friendly host lady greeted me and took me to my usual table after recognizing who I was. Not long after, Kassidy my server arrived, gave me a warm greeting and took my order. To drink I ordered a Virgin Cranberry Mule. As appetizer I had the Scallop Thermidor, followed by a Side Mixed Green Salad with tomatoes, onions, parmesan cheese, and croutons, with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. As my main entrée I had their 8oz center cut Filet Mignon cooked medium-rare, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and with herb butter on top. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the high-quality of their food. My server brought me a glass carafe of water with which she filled my water glass. Even the water here is high-quality and served elegantly. My Mocktail tasted simply marvelous. I enjoyed it to the last drop. The Scallops Thermidor had an amazing flavor, and I enjoyed enmensely. Everything was served at the right timing. Then came the salad which was made with fresh, quality ingredients. And the Filet Mignon was so tender and cooked just right, that while I was eating it I was already thinking on returning to have it again. The asparagus were fresh and just the right thickness to be able to enjoy them to the fullest. And the herb butter gave the mashed potatoes and everything else the perfect flavor. The manager gracefully took time to come and visit me at my table. He genuinely welcomed me and showed appreciation for my visit and for the good customer I've been of the restaurant ever since it opened its doors. Little did he know all the people that I've recommended this restaurant to. For dessert I had the Bananas Foster Beignets. The croissant dough of the Beignets were a bit overcooked, but overall the dessert tasted amazingly delicious. Next time I will remember to remind the cooks not to overcook the Beignets. In conclusion this is and continues to be one of my favorites restaurants in Roanoke, and once again I had an extraordinary dining experience there.

After having been selected as number 4 of the Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I also was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at the Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Coach & Four Restaurant, in Roanoke Virginia is a perfect example. At first it was just a large colonial house turned restaurant on Williamson Road in Roanoke, Virginia. But once I decided to stop and explore it, it has become one of my favorite restaurants in Roanoke, Virginia. Its uniqueness lies not only in its colonial atmosphere and in its classic American cuisine, but primarily in its amazing staff that from the time you walk in begin to make your fine-dining experience one that you'll always remember and cherish dearly. Their refined behavior creates a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere that create unforgettable dining experiences. Today, after having gone through one of the worst snow and ice storms in years, I decided to not allow the icy roads to hold me back, and requested a Lyft to take me there for dinner. As soon as I arrived, the friendly host came out to greet me and take me to a table of my choice. My server from the first time I dined there, happened to recognize me and took me to the booth where I had dined the first time I ever dined there. We discussed a Mocktail for me to drink and she came back with an amazing drink, and a small meatball as an "amuse-bouche," designed to prepare ones palate for the meal. After studying the restaurant's extensive menu, I ordered their Bacon Wrapped Scallops as appetizer. For my main entrée I ordered the Prime Rib Combination that consisted of a generous portion of roasted prime rib served with a delicious lobster tail. For the two sides that came with my main entree, I had their famous tossed salad with their in-house made blue cheese dressing and a loaded baked potato. The scallops were not so big in size but big in flavor and texture. The salad was amazing, as always. The main entrée looked well at first, but when I cut into the prime rib it was too well done to be able to appreciate the flavor of the meat. But my server came by, as promised, to see if the prime rib was cooked to my satisfaction, and when I told her it was too well done for my original request of medium-rare, she gracefully apologized and took it back. Returning shortly with another piece of prime rib more to my liking. For dessert I had a slice of Pecan Pie a la mode, which by the way was amazingly delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for one of the best fine-dining experiences of your life. And am looking forward to returning and ordering ahead of time their Baked Alaska to have for dessert.

Bernard's was born out of the love of two culinary aficionados turned professionals that in someway have managed to create a restaurant with an environment that transmits this intimate love to the hearts of their customers through the attention to detail in its extraordinary customer service and amazing culinary masterpieces. Today, I felt like dining at this restaurant, which I admire for its consistency in always far exceeding my high expectations of what a fine-dining restaurant should be all about. Not knowing if they would have a table for me at this late time on a Saturday early evening, I drove in my pearl white Lexus to the nearest private parking lot and gave them a call to inquire as if they could give me a reservation for the next ten minutes. A gentleman, who later I found out was named Matthew, and would be my server, answered the phone with a very polite and welcoming voice; answering my question of what was the special dish of the day and to come on down, that my reservation was assured. As soon as I arrived to the small, very elegant foyer in front of the Host's station, he came out to greet me and instantly recognized who I was. My only request was that he give me a low table because at my age seating at a high table was a bit uncomfortable. He went back to see what he could find and ended setting me up with what I consider one of the best tables of the house, and I was so appreciative of his last minute accommodation. The menu was already setup on my table. He poured water from a special bottle into my water glass and asked if I wanted something else to drink. I asked for a Mocktail and since he also was a bartender, he prepared me one of the best mocktails I've ever had. To dine, I started out with their Mussels Carbonara appetizer, which came in a bacon parmesan cream sauce that was simply amazing, and served with toast points. As my main entrée I had the Dinner Special of the Night, the Seafood Trio. It had a delicious, giant size crab cake in the middle, scallops, and shrimps, with parmesan risotto sautéed heirloom tomato, spinach, and nice size asparagus, with a burre blanc sauce. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the high-quality of their food and magnificent ambiance of the place.
