They reserved all of my water, gathered the aquarium and supplies, and most importantly ensured the safety of my fish. They reassembled everything for me at my new home. I had switched to a new fish stand in the process. They went above and beyond to make sure my aquarium was level before refilling the aquarium. After contacting Elmer's Aquarium, in Monroeville, PA, to inquire on recommendations for in-home aquarium service, I was directed to JohnR, owner of Aquarist Company. Meeting John was truly my good fortune. John is so knowledgeable in aquarium operation. He immediately assured me that I had, indeed, been given all the correct components to begin using the (foreign to me!) sump pump filtration system with my aquarium. As he worked on my installation & tank set up, John kindly, very respectively, patiently & certainly, most professionally, explained his installation process, as well as the function of the filter, to me. As I write this review, we are in the process of waiting for my newly set up tank to undergo the nitrogen cycle before relocating my existing fish into their beautifully landscaped new home. The rabbits and guinea pigs here are kept in terrible condition. I attached photos of the rabbits…read more They're kept in way too small of cages. The one rabbit didn't even really have any food. Rabbits are prone to digestion issues and need to be able to be constantly eating. There weren't any hideaways provided for them, or any toys for enrichment or to chew on and keep their teeth down. I didn't get pictures of the guinea pigs. Their cage was literally just stacked on top of the rabbits'. But they also didn't have any toys and no hideaways. Because of this, they were visibly super stressed out because they were kept front and center of the store and didn't have any place to hide and get away from the stressors. The top of their cage was also just open and I saw little kids reaching their hands in without any employees around to facilitate customers interacting with the animals like that. Honestly terrible for everyone involved because A.) The kids could get bit B.) It stresses out the animals C.) The animals are learning to be afraid of people are going to be difficult to socialize with anyone that takes them home and D.) Any germs on the kids' hands could easily be transmitted to the animals and make them sick. This store should just stick with fish honestly. I'm not as knowledgeable about the other kinds of animals they have as I am about guinea pigs and rabbits, but the owners definitely either don't care about the animals or are just really uneducated about the animals they're selling.

Then goes on to tell me I can sit and wait and hour or come back. Even after I told him I came from an hour away.

Then when you can buy any fish, like 1 week out of the year, you get drilled by the employees. Asking how big is your tank, what do you have in there now, etc. Now they have a sign on the bathrooms that it is for employees only, how can they do that.
