I had food from the Red Pepper at a catered lunch and it was delicious! The first thing that struck me was the smell of fresh red onions on the salad that was brought. Accompanied by blue cheese and mandarin oranges over romaine lettuce, it was a good mix of savory, crunchy, and sweet. We also enjoyed a bowtie pasta salad with a sweet Asian-tasting glaze. I had to limit myself to one serving of that one, otherwise I would have easily eaten the entire pan of it and spent the next week in a carb coma as a result. Highly recommended! The sandwich tray we had included a good variety of breads, wraps, meats, and vegeterian options with savory spreads such as spicy mustard and horseradish. The meal rounded out with some fudgy dark chocolate brownies dusted in confectioner's sugar and was the perfect way to satisfy my sweet tooth for the afternoon. Overall, I would highly recommend the Red Pepper catering and I will look forward to going to the brick and mortar location for a meal sometime soon! read more

For instance, most of their sandwiches are 8.25, they have half sandwich + soup for $6.95 combo. We ordered two sandwiches and a combo, so that was 8.25x2 + 6.95 = 23.45, plus KY 6% tax ($1.04) = $24.85; but we were charge $25.97! This happened to us few times! This place is timeless and just perfect! We stopped here while road tripping, and were so glad we did. We will probably make this a normal road stop anytime we drive through now. We had some delicious sandwich and soup action, and a cream stuffed cookie sandwich that was great. It is super cool because it is literally right next to the train tracks. I figured the tracks would not be operations, but much to our surprise the train drove just feet away from us and our car while we were eating. I went to Red Pepper in Lagrange today for lunch and I will have to say the man that takes orders was very rude. I went in and waited in line ,ordered my food ,and paid for my food. I then sat down to wait for it. I could see my food sitting in the window ready for pickup so I walked up to Register and told him I was just picking up my order when he rudely instructed me that he only had one line and pointed to the line which very long. I didn't feel that I should have to wait in line a second time to pick up food I had already paid for. My office goes to Red Pepper weekly for lunch and this is not the first time someone has noticed his rude service. I came here the other day as I was craving a sandwich. It's right downtown so parking is kind of an issue. Service was friendly. They seem to have a pretty strong following of loyal customers. The sandwich I chose was an Italian sandwich served warm. I wasn't expecting the warm sandwich that put me off a little bit. The bread is a little odd to me. The Red Pepper Deli never fails to impress. I have been eating there for at least 9 years and I haven't had a sandwich I haven't loved. This trip we left dazzled by the pancha chicken wrap and Rosa wrap. We placed a carry out order because we were in a rush and they put the mayos on the side, which was nice because it didn't leave us with a soggy wrap. The kids had the pb&j and actually ate the whole thing. I have also had the venetian veggie panini previously and have loved it! The Red Pepper serves up quite a variety of tasty sandwiches (both hot & cold), wraps, soups, and salads. Delicious, fresh deli fare. Their tomato & artichoke soup, greek salad, and extreme grilled cheese (made with creamy butterkase) are especially yummy. They also have several homemade pasta salads, a fantastic potato salad, and homemade desserts. They also offer entrees like quiche and mac & cheese, too, though the selection varies from day to day. Seating is tight, and the Red Pepper can get crowded at lunchtime. You'll wonder exactly how you're supposed to squeeze that many people into a space at once. Vegetarian offerings are limited - only about 3 sandwiches, just a couple of soups, and about half the salads are veggie. The Red Pepper also has a catering business that I've never used, but that I know caters quite a few events. It's a great local restaurant and definitely the best deli in LaGrange. read more

I rarely get out to LaGrange, so had not had a chance to try this little gem of a deli. My friend invited me out to visit with her and the kiddos and have lunch here. Yum! So glad we did that! I ordered a grilled pimento cheese sandwich with a cup of the tomato artichoke soup. Wowza! The sandwich was grilled perfectly and tasted amazing. The pimento cheese was melty and cheesy and delicious! The sandwich was served with some ruffle type chips that are the perfect chip for grilled cheese and soup. The tomato artichoke soup was so good. Creamy and hot and flavored well. I could actually taste the artichoke too, and even had some chunks of it floating around in my soup. They had a pretty big menu full of sandwiches, both hot and cold. They also have a couple of soups each day to choose from as well as some sandwich specials that are not on the menu. Of course they have salads galore too! Both of the leaf variety as well as the pasta/potato variety in a case up front. They are just staring back at you asking you to order them! I had lunch here during the Ironman Louisville, Oct. 2015. The line was out to the sidewalk when I arrived, but the staff hustled to serve everyone quickly and in a friendly manner. I forget what I had: a cuban-esque sandwich and a side of macaroni salad with buffalo-ish chicken(maybe). I'm not a big fan of pasta salad, so I can only say that it is better than average pasta salad, but still not something I would get again. What can I say, I took a chance on something new. The sandwich was very good. I wish it would have been a little larger, but the flavors were great. It would be a $9-$10 sandwich in lots of suburban restaurants. The youngsters on the staff deserve special credit for working so hard while also making me feel as though I was a little special. read more
