After our trip to Alacatraz, my bf and I were walking back to Chinatown and came across The Red Jack Saloon. It was literally across from Pier 33 off Bay st so we went in for a drink. We met the nicest person ever! Laurie! Such a gem. This place was nice and clean and drinks were amazing! So glad we stopped in. If you're in the neighborhood and looking for a good place for a drink, this is it! Will def be returning when we visit SF again! -Jess & Shaun Laurie, sorry if I misspelled your name. Haha hope to see you again soon!

Pineapple Ace - delicious to go with the WIN

Laurie was so welcoming to us Dodgers fans fans !! We honestly had the most enjoyable time here. Cool spot. Super clean. Loved the law enforcement patches throughout the bar area. We also met our friend Charlie there. We will be back in September for another round of baseball ! Go DODGERS

Really enjoyed this place, especially with the breeze coming in from the front doors. Really good service (one bartender - female, handled the bar like a breeze), huge and clean one-person bathrooms, clean, pretty area. Plenty of TVs, different channels. Clientele was truly lovely, someone bought us a round and they and others offered great recommendations on where to go for dinner! We took their advice and were not disappointed! Even wanted to go back later that night, so that's a pretty good experience! :) Thought I had photos but couldnt find any :( Did not require proof of vaccination at time of our visit. *full disclosure - tourist review*

Great dive/sports bar with a dartboard (steel tip) and around a dozen beers on tap. Nice spot with cool bartenders not far Fisherman's Wharf/Embarcadero.

Great ambience and crowd. Real SF vibes! Bartenders were attentive and very friendly. Always try to find a new spot for a drink every time I'm in SF, but this will definitely be on repeat!

Stopped by here because I needed to rinse my mouth out from the Dewar's tasting at Fort Mason Center. My friends and I enjoyed Johnnie Walker Black on the rocks. MUCH better than any of the Dewar's products. Actually, whenever I am in the area, I stop at The Red Jack Saloon. The place is always fun with lively characters coming through. I have gone to the Red Jack for the last two years. Each year taking special care to make their annual Xmas fundraiser. This place is a great community gem that goes above and beyond what is required for good business in SF. It is a pleasure to support such a great establishment with great employees and great owners. I'd highly recommend that you stop by and show your support, if you are in the area.

The service was great, the atmosphere was more than what I expected, in a good way, and all the local regulars were friendly. There is free billiards, and the prices for drinks is typical for the area circa 2026. Four pints of beer ran me ~30$. You can smoke outside on the patio. Closing time is flexible, but listed rather early. I stayed around 15 minutes after the official closing time and the place was still hoping. I had a great time.

This is definitely a neighborhood bar cause everyone seemed to know each other. Everyone walking buy was waving to others, even an ex coworker back in the day, I saw... it's been 20 years. This place feels like a speakeasy but with none of that other stuff. All the walls are covered with stuff, lots and lots of stuff. The bar itself looked like it sat maybe 10 people at most. The place didn't feel that big. They do have a pool table and a couple of cute places to sit and have an intimate conversation. They have a parklet and a couple of tables right in front. People were nice but you can tell this place makes strong drinks, they were all pretty tipsy. They do have food, but it's very minimal, and yes it was again just the bartender having to deal with everything. They had small bar items, a small little kitchen, with an oven to make pizzas. They have a great drink menu, the specials are on the board. I had their basil daiquiri and let me tell you! Yum!! It was perfect, had great flavor. Just the right amount of sweetness, made with love. Whenever someone thinks of daiquiri, they think of a mixed, slushy, drink with whip cream.. this is an original daiquiri This place was reasonably priced, about 10 bucks a drink! Crazy for the city.. been paying $18-$20 for a cocktail! My favorite part was the Buddha! You have to come in and immediately rub his belly!

Some people come to Buddha Lounge for the nightlife. I came for a speedrun…read more Walked in, grabbed a Chinese Mai Tai ($15), watched the bartender absolutely clean up on the presentation, and I thought, "Respect." Smooth, balanced, dangerously drinkable. Then came the only financial decision I'm actually proud of that night. Drink: $15. Tip: $5. Twenty bucks. Fair trade for good service. I thanked the bartender, chugged the entire Mai Tai in one glorious pull, nodded like we had just completed a business transaction between professionals, and walked straight back out the door without looking back. No second drink. No lingering. No bad decisions. Just in. Drink. Tip well. Exit. It's less of a bar review and more of a reminder that sometimes the coolest move is knowing exactly when to leave. Highly recommend with my utmost respectful regards.

Unfortunately it took a long time for my order to arrive. This was because the bartender, the only bartender, forgot about our drinks as soon as we ordered. The place is very small, and it was obvious that we were sitting there for a good 10 minutes with no drinks, waiting for our order. I knew the bartender forgot because he served everyone else instead of us. We had to remind him of our order. Also, it's hard to catch a vibe in there because they have the music system where you can pay for whatever song you want to be played. Too many different songs. Just stick to a cool playlist.

Drinks were on the pricier side, and I wasn't really a huge fan of how mine was mixed, especially for the price. Probably used to be better 30 years ago…read more Mr. Bing's on Columbus Avenue in San Francisco, CA, offers a textbook overrated bar experience that proves this iconic North Beach cornerstone has unfortunately lost its past luster. Once celebrated as a legendary, gritty legacy dive defined by its iconic V-shaped bar, a dark room filled with old-school neighborhood characters, and a delightfully unpretentious vibe, a recent renovation has stripped away its historic soul. The modern incarnation feels overly sanitized and generic, trading its authentic, rough-around-the-edges charm for bright lighting, basic flat-screen TVs, and a cookie-cutter aesthetic that feels like any ordinary sports bar. Because of its lingering fame on travel blogs, the room is often packed with tourists rather than the colorful locals who used to give it character, resulting in premium-priced drinks and a hollow atmosphere that fails to deliver on its historic reputation. It remains a functional spot to grab a routine beer while walking through North Beach, but anyone chasing the legendary, raw energy of the old San Francisco dive scene will leave feeling a bit disappointed. Thanks
